You are a fraud.  How do you live with yourself?  You hide behind false threats and prey on people's fear and ignorance.  Your day will come...I only wish I could be there to see it.

Yes, and we won't even touch on the fact that you didn't even read the poster's comment that the call was for her EX-BROTHER-IN-LAW, not her!

Lol, boring day in your scammy room, troll?  We won't even touch upon the fact that wage garnishments don't work like that; if you were really an attorney, you'd know that.

The number that called me was 310-388-4429. They called and asked for *****. I said wrong number. I said why would you call this number for that person? She said; that person showed my phone number for  contact. I hung up. I realized; this could be a problem; the person she was asking for was my ex brother-in-law from 27 years ago. Don't like him, haven't talked to him; and am concerned this may have to do with fraud. He is not a model citizen. I called the 310-388-4429 number back and got a man. I asked for the woman who had called me; he said no one called from there! I have the number on my caller ID. Now I am wondering what other information they may have.

Drew Adams called from this phone number (800-472-7618) saying I was going to be served by Wells Fargo for an account that I had in 2007. He needed me to pay $566.13 to stop it from going to court. I told him that I would talk to my lawyer and see what needs to be done. Thanks to this site I know I did the right thing. I knew something was fishy when I needed to go deposit the money into a Bank of America account. Or sign a paper and email it back to him with a prepaid visa or my debit card number.

DO NOT GIVE THESE GUYS THE LAST 4 OF YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER.  They HAVE the first 5 and all they need is the last 4 numbers to take your identity.  I just called 800-472-7618 and this jack a** said he was just leaving his office.  I asked what law firm and he said Gelson Law Firm in Laguna Beach.  There is NO Gelson Law Firm near Laguna Beach.  He said his name is Drew Adams which is probably fake.  Please go to Clark Howards web site for more in on collection fraud and identy theft.  Don't give out your SS# at these places EVER!! to ANYONE....unless you're opening a bank acct.  My granddaughter was going to pay this guy $700 so that he wouldn't file a Summons and Complaint for $2000.00 the next day.  Please EVERYONE don't let these guys trick you.  I work for a collection agency and we have to give the person we are calling their SS#.  We already have it.  I'm sooooooo mad at these frauds trying to collect unowed money.

Per CLARK HOWARD, When should you give your Social Security number and when should you not? My rule on giving out my Social Security number is that I don't do it, unless I know it's absolutely, positively required for what I'm doing. Companies and institutions ask for our Social Security numbers like they're ...
......See Clark Howard link or listen to his podcast or radio show at link:     http://www.clarkhoward.com/   to read the rest of his comment.

Debt Collector
I think it might be "head-hunters" paid to get confirmation of a person's whereabouts, regarding a dumb bill. I borrowed some money from a few payday loan places awhile back, and ended up in a situation where I couldn't pay them back right away. I had a similar situation (to today's call that matches what all the above posts report) where they called a relative, and conned this relative into believing I was in serious trouble, They used the scare tactic to bully this relative into giving them money, by using intimidating words like "court summons" "serve papers" and "imperative I call them today so it doesn't have to go any further". She thought she was doing me a favor by paying them off, but I have way more important bills to address so it was a waste of her "emergency" money. THESE GUYS ARE NOT A BIG DEAL. You're not getting arrested, there's no warrants in your name, they can't take away your birthday. I recommend: Don't let them intimidate you and don't confirm or deny anything.

sam wilson called from document deliver service claiming that there is an important legal matter that needs to be reviewed (number on caller id 949 769 2397) said to call back 800 472 7618 with a ref number. it's 9 times out of 10 a telemarketing collection person wanting to collect on a $2 payment is missed on something. they make me sick how they try to sound so official like there's a warrant for someone or something. Give me a break.

Telemarketer
Same as above. Just got the first voicemail, says that they are a doc delivery service delivering a summons to appear in court, and if I have any questions, call the lawfirm handling this case at this number and reference case number so and so. I'll be calling tomorrow to see what kind of nonsense this is... Summons and complaint my butt....
