These idiots have called my son and DIL hundreds of times despite telling them the person they want does not have this number anymore. I even called and asked to have the number removed from their data base

They are still calling at all hours of the day and night.

My DIL is on bed rest with triplets and had to turn off the volume of the phone because they will not stop calling

To Mogaki, you are a piece of $h-t.

A rep from this number keeps calling for my daughter who is 20 and is at school. She
Has never had any loans or credit cards. And we have got otegr calls looking for a girl with the
Exact name except for the middle name as her. I dint know how they got our number
But I know they are lookin for a different person. My daughter had never got any bills or notices
Just the calls. I have asked them to send us something in the mail so we can see what is going on and give her a chance to clear her name so to speak. Something just seems shady about this

Diversified Collection called. Recording. Two days in a row. Debt collection agencies are supposed to identify whom they are wanting to speak with and leave a message. Hit or miss dialing is ridiculous. Identify me as your debtor and you might get a phone call return. If not please Stop calling!

They just called my father-in-law today regarding an old Sprint bill that, while it had gone to collections (with a different company) last year, the balance was paid in full to the first collection agency well over six months ago (I have the letter from them confirming that). This new collection agency is claiming that there was an unpaid balance of $17.50 with the previous collection agency so Sprint turned it over to them and because it wasn't paid, there is now a $250 penalty as well. They claim to have been sending letters regarding this for the past few months, however when asked what address they were sending them to, they provided one that is more than five years old; the agent asked for the current address, however my FIL told them that if they legitimately owned the debt, they would have that information and refused to provide it (good for him!) As far as I'm concerned, they are running a scam and if they think I'm going to give them a dime just because they say so, they've got a big fight ahead of them, especially since I am well aware of my rights as they pertain to debt collection.

Ahh..yes! Another Shill trying to find an excuse for being at the bottom of the social ladder.  Hey 'mazzlee01', nobody dragged you to the bottom. You got there all by yourself. It's nobodys' fault but your own that you're at the point in your life where you're forced to extort money from people. Money that most likely isn't yours to claim and isn't owed.
You're 'shocked'? So am I. I just can't understand the mind-set of people who would stoop so low as to consider a job in Collections. Legitimate or not. What goes through your mind in the morning? Sitting there drinking your coffee? Do you even have the concept of 'Honor'? Or 'Integrity'?
'Bilk the system'? Your very job exists due to flaws in the system. And the collection industry bilks every dollar it can out of the consumer due to those flaws. The debtors' are not the problem. The financial system created the problems and your pathetic occupation exists due to those disasters.
If a person owes a legitimate debt he, or she, should pay it. AFTER confirming that the debt is legitimate and the entity attempting to collect it is legitimate. All possible means should be used to pay the original creditor. Third party debt collectors exist solely as a parasitic blight and should be shut down and cut out of the loop. 'Junk Debt' buyers are nothing more than shady gamblers and if it weren't for the naivety of the public would have gone the way of all gamblers long ago. Bogus and fraudulent collectors are simply beneath contempt. In a saner era we had the ways available to deal with scum. Sadly, Horse-whipping, Hanging and Tar & Feathering are frowned upon now. Although I do think that if they were used today, any jury would acquit and deem the acts as 'Justifiable'.
Go and try to get a real job 'mazzle01'. You and your kind are nothing more than 'Fleas' whose only purpose is to irratate the masses and suck as much money out of them as possible. For your own gain and nothing more.

"Discusting"? What's that?

This is not a discussion as to whether or not we should "Pay our bills"--

This about consumers' rights when it comes to the collection of debts.

Thanks for playing.

Here's what you do...
You got call forwarding? if you get no calls but them just call forward to the operator. he/she will see it's from you but will have a better means of tracking it. And if they are not (which they can do on a NY heartbeat) I worked for ATT I know they can, they will trace the call or be bugged enough to STOP the calls or want to put you in trouble which means they are doing it through subtrifuge because you didn't pay ya bill or something.

Either way toss it back to the controllers of the DUNBASSED system!

I noticed this company on my credit report. It wasnt too hard to see who they were collecting for. it was right there in black & white. i sent them an email asking them to send all the coresponding documents relative to my account. i owe the money and i know this. i called the origional creditor and it is a very old bill. i have not received any mailings or phone calls from them. but i will take care of this debt if they can send me the correct coresponding documents. the origional creditor stated that these are the people i need to work with on the matter.

If you are a Sprint customer you can log into your account and add the number to the Blocked Voice list. My Preferences tab-> scroll to bottom of page-> click on block voice. Click on the area which includes your name, phone and device. Scroll down and click on "Block only the following phone numbers for inbound and outbound calls". Enter and then add phone number. Save and problem solved. I'm sure the rest of wireless companies have to have the same type of service.

They called -- stated that were collecting for a Sprint who sent the outstanding balance to Diversified.    They sent it to Collections without Sprint every sending a hard copy bill to our home -- with Sprint saying they emailed the bill to us -- since we opted for paperless service.    I would think if Sprint had some Business Sense -- they would have tried to have sent at least one hard copy bill -- but did not.    The bill is for two cell phone lines and one contract my husband signed -- with us disagreeing on what constitutes two contracts.   We felt since we shared 500 minutes between us -- it  should be considered one contract.

Anyway, Diversified called -- we verbally worked out a negotiation settlement of $175.00.    He wanted my banking information right then and there and I told him I wanted a paper discussing what our settlement should be.   He replies "You Fax a Letter discussing the Settlement" and I took the fax number -- typed a quick letter -- and then tried to fax it.    It was a bogus fax phone number that would never answer.    So, I went online and got their email address and emailed them -- no response whatsoever from them.    So, I called to ask for the person who I talked to named "James" and the woman who answered says "Well, we do not have extensions" -- but I will email him for you.

I have never heard from them and I believe they will be the last I would.   They seem shady to me too.

I think this is for sure a scam. I have gotten the calls from 1-800-474-3743 and had the same experiences as others. The name they are asking for is weird to pronounce and understand and they want a call back if wrong #. A friend also got the same call I think it is going around. I figures it was some sort of a phising scam and haven't called back, but may report to my local law inforcement agency and see what they think I should do.

what you need to do is file a complaint with the FTC re: FCDPA (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.  I believe you can file a complaint right online at FTC.gov  - They can't call you again if you tell them not to, they can't call relatives and discuss your collection issue, they can't threaten you, they can't call you back if you tell them they have the wrong number, they can't call you at work if you tell them that you can't receive personal phone calls.

I have 2 phones, both of which are cell phones. One is my personal phone and the other is a work phone. I keep getting calls on my one phone from the number 800-474-3743.. So one day I have had about enough of this number leaving these messages in my voice mail, so I called it back, spoke with someone and they were asking about someone with a name that is too complicated to remember.I told them it was my phone not who ever it was they were trying to find, they said well thats not the number your calling me from where we call you. I was floored they even had the odacity to even question me about my other phone line. I told them how i had 2 phones and i hadnt the clue who it was they were looking for, they said ok we will remove you from our list... It was quiet for about a week and here it is again the calls are starting up. I honestly dont know if someone had the number i have now before I got it or what, but they need to seriously stop calling my phone since I told them already I dont know the person they are looking for.

They called me collecting on a Sprint cell phone bill.  They were not rude. And are suppose to be sending me something in the mail.  I did not pay them anything over the phone. I'm going to double check with Sprint before sending them any kind of payment.
