Has anybody heard of 'Grants Money'? It's a site that claims if you send $1.97 that you will be given 'X' amount of money by the Government if they review your situation to varify that it's true.(the $1.97 is apparently for their time to investigate your need for the help)

After 24 hours if you are accepted, you give a list of your depts (ie: school loans, credit cards, etc.) Someone had showed an actual cheque for $11,000.00 that the Government mailed to them to help that person get back on their feet.

My logical brain is telling me, "ya right", but I thought I'd just put it out there to ask if anyone has heard of this?

leo,

It would be spectacular if this Company didn`t want you to send money, but they do.($34.97) There`s no guarantee that just because they say you can make $22 a hour, that you will. Plus, with all of the testimonies of people getting scammed, not paid, or receiving their refunds as promised.

I don`t think that anybody`s doing great!

Susan,
I received in the mail today a letter from "Coupon Direct of Canada", I thought that this would be a great way to make extra money. There was no E-Mail address or phone number because I wanted to know if the stamps would be supplied. I phoned directory, & there was no phone number for a Company by that name. I gave the address, & was told that there was no Company listed under that address.

That's when I became very suspicious. I believe "phoenixfriend2009" that left the comment below you, must work for that scam Company because I almost lost the $34.97 that they wanted me to send to have them mail me a `starter kit`. I read numerous people that had been ripped off buy this Company. Not only did they not receive the $34.97 refund as promised, but they didn`t even get a cheque after doing the work. It`s atrocious that they can do this to honest, hard working people & get away with it, especially when their letter is so professional looking. I almost was a victim, everybody stay away from `Coupon Direct of Canada` please.

This company is not a fraud. The $34.97 is just to prove you really want the job. It will be refunded later included in your first paycheque.

It must be a scam since you don't have to send money if you can be paid $22/hour later on.  You can deduct the information fee from your payment of work !

You are doing great !

I responded to 800 478 8160 as per an ad that appeared in the Toronto Star Saturday April 4, 2009 that stated "$22/hr + BONUSES COMPANY NEEDS HELP FILLING OUT SIMPLE WORKSHEETS.  TO APPLY CALL 800 478 8160".  After leaving my name/address I received a package in the mail advising they needed grocery coupon processors and to send $34.97 to Coupon Direct of Canada, 169-1063 King.St.W., Hamilton, Ontario L8S 4S3.  I cannot find a website for them and cannot find their phone number/location thru the Canada Post website.  They are not listed with Better Business Bureau either.  If they are a scam how do they continue to get away with it?

I called this number re an ad in the paper offering work at home.  I left my name and address on the phone message and they sent me a package requesting $35 to $40 to receive a further information package.  I stopped here figuring it was a scam.  I refused to send any money.
