Annoying calls

Receiving these calls from across the country from somebody who is incarcerated, I no no one who is in jail and this is a cell phone...i get multiple calls daily, as early as 5 am, as late as 11 pm...please remove my number

I also received a call from this # on my cell that I've had for many years.  The only thing I can figure out is that I responded to an ad on Craigs List for a used vehicle and left my phone #.  It turned out that the ad was a con and the # on the ad was a New Jersey #.  I have a feeling this is related.

no relaxing about it...they cover up by you not hearing or understanding the name given ...these are inmates doing this dear   DO YOUR RESEARCH , BECAUSE I HAVE AND ITS A SCAM !!

Yes Its Definitely A Scam...Inmates are actually having access to do this  If you don't know the party do not give any info..they will say the number lets the inmate talk and say its name and the state but it doesn't..its definitely a scam !!

DO NOT DO THIS  IT IS A SCAM   I also received aa number along with this of 972 372 1105  Its from a Texas Correctional and hes are scams going on with inmates Do Not GIVE Them An Info Whatsoever Just Ignore it.. If not you are being scammed in a huge way

It's an entity of offender connect though what they are doing calling everybody I have no clue

While researching this 800 number this evening, I found your reply here informational, more so than most. However, my husband & I know not a single incarcerated person, yet we received a call from this number tonight (6-22-2014) on our cell. Of course, we did not answer the call. No message was left. Neither of us have ever made a "deposit" for these type calls and never would. We have also had the same cell number for 17 years. Do you have any thoughts on how this could have happened to us?

It is an 800 number.  It does not belong to any state...

Have received a couple of calls from this number...both times a recorded message left regarding someone trying to call from a correctional facility and info on creating an account.   It's nobody I know... they need to stop.

Whether Global Tel Link is legit or not.  I have recieved 2 calls from them in 2 days on my unpublished business phone (not even my family has this number).  Each call was from a different inmate and at different "jails".  Both inmates names were so muffled, I could not understand their names on the voice mail.

The follow-up voice mail from Global Tek link states that you recieved a phone call from a person in jail and I needed to "prepay" for them to call out.

If they are a legit company, this is not the first time that I have heard of this "inmate scam".  Some "jails" have pay phones unrestricted to some inmates while they are there.  But without anough money, some inmates will randomly call numbers until they find someone on the outside who will pay to have this account setup (thinking this might be someone they they know).  The inmates then turn around and offer to "sell" these calls to other inmates at high "prices".  

I have had family and friends that have worked for correctional institutions and have heard of fights breaking out over "phone privileges", including selling of them.  I do not wish to be cruel but I do not have the conscious to add to inmate corruption or to encourage violence within the "system".

i don't know what this number is but i am on a do not call list this needs to stop its a private cell phone.i will contact a lawyer if it does not desist.

Yes, wayward. Not everyone who is incarcerated is bad. Some just made a mistake that they are paying for. But based on your comment I am assuming that compassion is not something you are used to.

I got a call from this number and am tryin to find out where its calling from and what correctional facility

I am on the do not call list, and still get these calls.

I received a recorded message yesterday evening from this number. It did NOT say who was calling but, that someone from a correctional facility had tried to call my number and couldn't.  I listened to the call in its entirety hoping to have an option to opt out or no longer receive calls, but there was none.  The rest of the call is an explanation as to how I can call a number, leave my credit card info, and set up an account for the unknown imprisoned, person.   The last option was to simply hang up if I had already set up such account.  Had the caller at least given a name, I would not have felt it was a scam, not to mention feeling somewhat violated that some prisoner was calling me on my cell phone. It's a very poorly designed and/or managed system!

Thank God for Google Voice. These a**les are now blocked. Here is the transcript of the calls I've been getting. Another one from 850-4404 also.

I do not know anyone in jail so this is very strange and ANNOYING.

who's calling my cell phone???  I know of no one in jail and I seldom give out my cell phone number.

How do I get this to stop??????

I keep getting these calls as weel , I checked the jails web site As far as I know there was no one that I thought might be in Jail on the inmate search, , they said it was from a a Sandiego Ca Prison, I did a reverse look up on the number  & it was a co from texas. The caller did not leave a name...Sounds pretty fisshy to me..
