Daniel Smith phoned from Microsoft Windows Support. I pretended to be suitably IT illiterate and asked him if he did double glazing too. No he said, Microsoft Windows. Ok, smaller windows for children... and so on. 10 minutes later he hung up on me.

The telephone number he gave in badly broken Indian accent was to: 18004907454.

My vote is for the person who can keel Mr Daniel Smith on the phone the longest without giving away any information whatsoever :)

Also download and run malware bytes, you'll find it on file hippo. Change any and all passwords on your computer and every place you have passwords. He would have gotten all your info.

You should probably take it to a real tech you can see face to face and have it gone through.

I just had a call from this same gentleman from Microsoft saying that my computer sent a message to them.  I am not real computer savvy and couldn't follow his directions (also had a hard time understanding him) so he took control of my computer and supposedly removed the viruses.  I have Bitdefender on my computer. He took the icon for Bitdefender off of my screen and then he kept insisting I needed to put this program on my computer to keep it from crashing and just needed to pay for a license for it.  I immediately became suspicious and started questioning him further and got the name Kenosis out of him then the phone number to "call him back".  I immediately did a scan and update with my Bitdefender and then looked up the number -- on this site, which verifies my suspicions -- too late!  Now I'm hoping no damage was done.  I'll do a deep scan now!

A man called 3 times and told me I have a virus and he was from microsoft support.  When I asked him if he said he was from microsoft he said no.  I told them not to call but they repeatedly call. He said his name was daniel. He had a foreign accent which allows him to make statements and then infer that you misunderstand.  How come he can call and try to scare people into letting him into your computer.  This is irritating.

My neighbor fell for it, too.  I found out about a month later.  She disconnected the computer right after I told her it was a scam.  She and her husband spent the next day changing all of their banking information.

They took their tower to a local computer repair place.  The techs there discovered that the scammer had turned-off the anti-malware program.  Thats all the damage they found.  But, better safe than sorry, they replaced the tower.  Last I heard they were still getting calls from people with an assortment of foreign accents trying to run the same scam again.

Well, of course not "dear". Why would anyone do that? You're a fraud. Your product is a fraud. Only a fool would fall for a line of BS from a bunch of Indian fraudsters such as your selves.
"Gee, Wally!" Does that surprise you?

I received a call from a different number. 323-235-7457. It was and Indian speaking man. He said that he was from Microsoft support. He said that I had a Trojan virus and that he had been authorized by Microsoft to download a firewall as there wasn't one on my computer. Now I'm not tech savvy, but I knew that was a lie. So I asked him how much this download would cost me. He said it was free from Microsoft and that it was good for 5 years. However, he said I would have to pay $160.00 for the product key number. I asked to speak to his supervisor. During all of this time, he had accessed control of my computer. I started shutting down the pages as he pulled them up. Another man got on the line and said that if I didn't do this my computer was going to crash. I told him that I was not going to do anything w/o talking to Microsoft first. The company name he gave me was Kenoxis. He said that he would give me the toll free number for Microsoft. It was the 800-490-7454. I reported it to Microsoft and the do not call registry along with both of these numbers.

A guy called me around 3:30 pm on Feb 24, 2014 saying he was with Microsoft Technical Support and that my computer was sending error messages to Microsoft. He informed me that he would help me solve the issues by leading me through steps. I laughed and told him to give me his number because as far as I knew I had no computer problem and Microsoft didn't make calls such as this. He gave me 1800 490-7454 and I called around 4:00 pm same day. Someone answered, (foreign voice), said "Microsoft Support how can I help you?" I told him Microsoft didn't know him or the phone number he gave and I was reporting him to the Federal Trade Commission, do not call me again. I hope he didn't get my info from a car insurance agency, my gut tells me he did.
