Enhanced recovery company. I had rec'd a few calls from this #. I finally called them back. It is an actual collection agency in Florida. I spoke to a very polite man named Scott. He researched the reference number and did indeed remove my number from their calling schedule and apologized for the error.

I keep getting phone calls from this number 3 or 4 times daily. How do I stop this? Can I report it somewhere?

I ran a free credit report to double check my credit a few months ago and found no outstanding debts or issues. Unfortunately, I had to leave a phone number to process the request and ever since I am getting harassing phone calls from this number 2-5 times a day at all hours of the day and night. I've never gotten any type of letter validating this claim, just recorded messages that they're trying to collect a debt.

If you are getting calls by someone asking for the same name that you never heard of, it maybe only one collection agency (junk debt buyer) calling you using different telephone numbers. They also uses "out of area" calls.

Calls several times a week with their recorded message of which I only hear the last couple of words since I pay the phone company to preface my calls with a recorded message that says if your a telemarketer, hang up and don't call back.
Interesting ... I've NEVER even done business with Wells Fargo.

We dont ever answer our home phone, and have no answering machine. Not a problem, but they do continue to call.

I am in tears and so afraid of my own phone. This # has been calling several times a day for months. It just won't stop.
Can anybody help? 2011-06-06 20:57:52 Unknown
I don't answer my phone at all. I have disconnected my answering machine It's making my life miserable at the verge of a breakdown. They just won't stop from Monday to Friday, 3 or more times a day for months.

If you don't owe them any debt, just turn the ringer off and you won't hear the phone ringing check your credit report often.
Kimber 2011-06-06 20:57:52 Unknown
They just called my cell phone 2 days in a row. When I called back the first time, there is an automated phone number removal option and I entered the number. Well I had an "unknown" call this morning and assumed it was them so I called back with the reference number they left on Saturday morning at 8:30 am. The rep tells me the phone number is associated with 3 different accounts so the removal option doesn't work. Nice.
This place and all the others are looking for the person who had my cell phone number over 6 months ago now. I know his name and know he owes everyone money.

Just got a call from 800 493-0791. No name.
Luckily I have a Panasonic phone that I can enter those stupid numbers into and BLOCK them. I still get 1 ring then they get a busy signal. If the phone rings more than once then I look to see who it is, if the voice CID hasn't given anything. Phone only holds 20 numbers, but I can rotate them out as needed!!! And NO CHARGES! Panasonic sure did a good deed when they made these phones!!
Look for any phone with call blocking! Get rid of those idiots!
Silent Night, Holy Night 2011-06-06 20:57:52 Unknown
Time Warner offers the calll blocking feature also. Go to the site and enter the numbers you want blocked.

I have been harangued by 4930791 for over two years. My wife left me because of the constand call. They said I owed $270.00 to ATT. I have never done business with ATT. They keep calling, 3-4-5 in the morning, my phone rings contantly. After my wife left me I decided enough is enough. I have physically taken my phone and ripped it from the wall. That' ll teach these stinking collectors a lesson. Life is so sweet again without that constant ring ring ring. and then the recording and then someone mean to talk to on the phone, telling you things that are not true. Glenardo

800-493-0781 is an automated phone number belonging to Enhanced Recovery Corp.
Enhanced Recovery Corp. is a JUNK DEBT Collector.
Enhanced Recovery Corp. tries to recover debts that have exceeded the Statue of Limitations…
What is a Junk Debt Buyer?
A junk debt buyer is a collection agency who has purchased a large portfolio of delinquent or charged off accounts from credit card companies, or even other collection agencies. Also referred to in the industry as "bad debt buyers", "zombie debt collectors", or simply "debt buyers", these companies fall under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act definition of Collection Agency ("CA"). As the visibility and profitability of this rapidly expanding new industry has grown, junk debt buyers range in size from small private businesses up to million dollar publicly traded Wall-Street companies! Credit card debt accounts for nearly 70% of the accounts sold to JDBs, followed by auto loans, telecommunications debt and retail accounts.
What to be Aware Of
Junk debt buyers generally buy alleged debts for cents on the dollar and then attempt to find ways to collect on the debt. Often times, the debt is "out-of-statute" (That is, the statute of limitations on it has exipred and it no longer legally needs to be repaid). The buyer then attempts to get the debtor to pay a small portion of the debt. If the debtor does so, they have reaffirmed the debt and started the statute of limitations over again. It is very important that consumers be aware of their rights and the laws that protect them as an alarmingly large number of these debt buyers are barely operating within the law.
Some typical unacceptable practices by JDBs include pursuing debts that are not actually owned by the consumer in question; harassment or verbal abuse; multiple listings of the same debt; and, as stated previously, attempting to collect a debt that has passed it's statute of limitations. Frequently in these situations, the JDBs will use the practice of "re-aging" an account which basically means that they report it as more recent than it really is.
An abbreviated list of JDB's:
• Asset Acceptance (AAC)*
• Sherman Acquisitions/Sherman Financial Group/Alegis
• NCO Group*
• Portfolio Recovery Assoc.*
• Asta Funding* Encore Capital Group (parent of Midland Credit Mgmt)*
• Allied National/Interstate Risk Management Alternatives (RMA)
• JBC & Associates Arrow Fin. Svcs. (majority interest acquired by Sallie Mae 9/04)
• RJM Acquisitions
• CAMCO (Capital Acquisitions & Mgmt Co)*
• Excalibur
• Cavalry Portfolio Services
• Unifund Group
• Phoenix Asset Acceptance
• First Select Corporation (part of Providian)
• Collins Financial Services
• Oliphant Financial Corp.
• OSI Portfolio Services
*These have been the subject of recent FTC legal actions and penalties for illegal/abusive collection practices.
How much do JDB's pay for portfolios of debt?
• Debts that have recently been charged off: 6 to 7 cents on the dollar.
• Accounts that are slightly older and on which a collection agency or two has already taken a whack: 1.5 cents to 2 cents on the dollar.
• Years-old, out-of-statute debts: A penny or less.

Post there names, home address's, and phone info for them.
