I get calls from this number (ERC) and told them the person they are trying to locate does not reside here. They are asking for a man and there is no man living here. I asked them to take my number off their list but I still get the calls.

I answered. A woman asked for someone who doesn't live here anymore. I told them so. She said OK, we'll remove your number from our system.

just got a call from them... whomever "Them" really are...?!?!? never pick up an *800 number call!

I found the correct address and further info on this immoral, illegal, unethical and unprofessional collection agency. This following information may be very useful to many now and many to come...these people need to learn their lesson on how to treat civilized people who indeed have a life. Do not, I say again, do not give them any checks or credit cards as the collectors there will use them and do fraud. Check for yourself. They have already had incidents on many employees who took the information over the phone and pay their own bills with. This is rediculous! They had an office in Ohio which they had to shut down. Also another in Boston, Mass. Oh! Let me advise you to. The owner is now driving a bentley and guess where that came from? They have clients such as MBNA, HILCO, METRIS, CHASE, RESURGENT (formerly known as SHERMAN FINANCIAL), GENESIS, WELLS FARGO, MERRICK BANK (MCM), and many more...

They called me twice early in the morning, including once at 8:30 on Saturday, and hung up just as I answered. After the second time I called back to find out who it was, and they told me who they were trying to reach. Same last name but different first name. Did some research. ERC is a collections agency headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida. The president is Mark A. Thompson. I looked him up in the tax records, and there are a few Mark Thompsons, but I figure he owns a nice home, and there is a Mark A & Patricia A Thompson who own a house on the golf course at:

12729 Muirfield Blvd S
Jacksonville, FL 32225

There is no phone listed under his name, but there is a number listed under her name at that address:

(904) 608-8100

I wonder how much the Thompsons would enjoy getting phone calls from strangers at 8:30 on Saturday morning...

You are not alone. They have called me and bullied me as well. They told me that I needed to stop putting them on a back burner. The man was practically yelling at me. I can't even afford to buy my daughter formula... how am I supposed to pay them?

These people are so annoying. They have been calling every day at least 3-4 times a day even though i have continued to tell them that there is no one who lives at my house with the name they are looking for. Same last name but i do not know the person they are looking for. After 5 weeks of this harrassment i have finally contacted my phone carrier's unlawful call center and have requested they contact them to put us on the do not call list even though i have told this several times. If they do not do so in the next 48 hrs i have been instructed to contact my state attorney general's office.

These people have called me repeatedly day after day. They are rude and were actually yelling and threatening me! I told them if they wanted to communicate with me in the future they could send me a letter in the mail, they obviously had my contact information. And you know what? I haven't received any snail mail in reference to the debt they wanted me to pay. They were threatening and telling me I needed to pay up now over the phone. If you haven't gotten official correspondence NEVER pay up over the phone. I have been scammed before with another "collection" agency in the past.

obvisouly alot of you people do not know how collections work. There are alot of people out there that do not pay bills or don't even realize they have bills that where not paid and sometimes even fraud accounts sometime you need to calm down and listen to what the people are saying and find out if you owe this money and try to make arrangments. I do collections but not for this company and when u have people cursing you all day for calling because they did not pay there bill then you are not having a pleasent day either and maybe if people that owe the money that spent it in the first place would work with people to pay it back then the economey would not be in the shape it is in. When you barrow money expect to pay it back at some point or dont barrow. And when they are calling you but you are saying it's the wrong # do you know how many times we have the right number and hear that try to look at it from the other side we are trying to do our job and pay our bills also. I do not agree that someone should be rude to anyone I have a very customer service way of collecting and that's how it should be. But people on the other end of the conversation need to understand that they also barrowed money and need to pay it back would you like to loan a bunch of people money and them not pay you back how would you handle it I bet you would be trying to contact them as much as possible and get your money back to

My situation involves terminally ill mother resulting in my medical leave from my employment, then my spouse is laid off from primary work and her $10,000 funeral bill; recession hits late 2008 and so on...not a matter of re-paying debt....with what resources; these collectors don't want to hear your story as they BUY your overdue debt from the main bank/lender and are ruthless about recovering the $$$$ any which way! Heard that you tell them you do not OWE THEM but the original bank/lender...I don't answer any calls. They are pests but try to ignore them DAILY!!!

This company called me twice, sometimes three times and day. ERC is Enhanced Recovery Co.  Bill collectors who can't even keep tabs on the people that owe money. They never left messages so today I was finally so tired of them that I'm giving them up for Lent!!!!  I told them to remove my number and quit calling me.  I have noted all the times they've called and will still report them to the FTC because they should not be permitted to be a nuisance to anyone.

ERC looks for old debt listings and tries to collect as many times as possible.
If you pay them once they will double the calls until you pay them again.

It is an extortion scam - "Pay us or we will keep harrassing you" then they keep calling anyway.

They keep calling me at home but never a message. If they are a debt collector wouldn't they want the money I own. Please don;t call anymore because I will not answer because I don't beleive that you are who you are. DON'T CALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The number calls, leaves a message to call them back if I am so-and-so, else disregard the call...  That may have been possible for the first 2 dozen calls or so.

This is a new business number and these calls must stop.

My mom recieved a call from this number stating they were a detective trying  to get a hold of me. They told her I took out a loan in 2009 and they are charging me with check fraud and that I have court on Monday !!!!!! WTF !!!!!!! If I took out a loan then obviously they would have my social securty number and would do a credit check to get my address. I have not recieved any court papers and went online to check the counties court docket and found nothing under my name. This company is full of sh@# and just likes to harrass people !

Who is this and why are they calling me?

Debt collectors. The woman who used to have my number is a deadbeat.  I get calls about her bills regularly.

None, they hung up after 4, 5 rings.

They are calling my mother and hassling her about something in my dad's name and he passed away 2 yrs ago!  How do we stop it?

just got a call from a caller saying they were from ERC. then hung up, this is the third call from this 800#. no one ever said what they want.

Just got a call from this number tonight.  Automated message saying "Please hold for a message from ERC." and hang up right after as well.

Just as others have found.  Within a couple of weeks this January the  automated voice says similar as others have said.  The "voice" says her name is Chelsea.  One time they are looking a Glen (gives reerence number); another for a Alejuandra (diff reference).  No reason they should be using this number.

As someone else posted call 800-586-0013, I was receiving about 1 call a week so I called and told them to take me off of there list. I've also blacklisted the number they've been calling from so it goes directly to voicemail. They had the wrong person (not even sure how my number was ever attached to this other person considering I've had this number for ~10 years!)

call 1-800 586-0013. a person answered the phone.  She told me they would remove my number.  we will see.

The caller says:  Please hold for a message from ERC.  I hold and then the call drops!  I have no idea who ERC is or why this person(s) call my number every day!

This number keeps calling my cell phone.  I don't know how they got my cell phone number, but it's not for me and they just keep calling!  The message says, "This message is for (name here).  If you are not this person, hang up, as this message was not intended for you."  Okay then, stop calling me!  And if you want me to hang up, then how am I suppose to get through to tell you that you have the wrong number!  What do I do?
