I say get an air horn! Or since they think it's ok to lie, why not give them a taste if their own medicine.... answer the phone and say the name of you're local police department and say b/c of complaints filed this number had been forwarded to them.....i doubt they actually do that, but I'd be very curious as to what their response would be!  Ha! Maybe even find some background noise online that sounds like a police station......hmmmm?

Ok....Mr./Ms. Smart pants,  if you worked for this company then you definitely know that no matter whether the debt is real, a mistake, identify theft or a wrong number, they passed a law A LONG TIME AGO, that says if you tell someone on the other end of your phone not to call anymore, then it's illegal for them to call!  Period!  And also, it's illegal for them to cuss at you, threaten you in ANY way and to lie to get information!  So, I'm sure I'm not the only one thinking this.... get a life! Hopefully you've gotten a real job, not another one with a bunch of criminals and also to you, and all you other idiots out there that have something to say about ppl that owe money, life isn't so easy for everybody!!! Some ppl lose their jobs, some ppl become disabled and most ppl have every intention of paying off their debts, these b*****ds just have to be patient and wait a few months til one can get back on their feet. It's not always easy, but sometimes ppl have to decide whether to pay that credit card bill or feed their kids. It happens.... just shut the F up about it and go back to eating from your silver spoon!
(So, I've had my rant for the day..... good luck to everyone out there! Peace!  ;-)

I have a new att residence phone which is only used with limited calls going out and just over a month old.  So rarely use.  But I have had almost daily calls saying to call regarding a collection agency.  I finally called when a "Brandon" male voice said to call in regard to this agency.  I finally called, and a female answered with the beginning of a vulgar and pornographic remark before I hung up.  I quickly sent the number into a complaint to my "Do Not Call" list.  I could not believe this since I have been on the list for over a month.

This number keeps calling my house for people I have never heard of. It is a recording & when I try to call back get no real person on the line. I am on the do not call list but it seems that is useless.

I just got our 4th call, probably from the same company. We're an ad agency that purchased an 855 number as a redirect for a specific client service, and now we're getting collection calls for someone who's name I can't pronounce- and their automated call system can't either.

So the call goes, "If you are (unintellegible name), press 1. If you are not (unintelligible name), press 2. I press 2, hoping the call would end there. Nope. In complete deference to question #1, the artificial intelligence on the other end says, "If (unintelligible name) can come to the phone, press 1. If not, press 2". Awesome. I guess that's how you get into collections- you're not qualified for anything else.

After telling these guys that they have a wrong number and having them still call 3-4 times a day, I read somewhere to tell them that I know my rights under the "Fair Debt Collections Practices Act" and that they should remove my number from their list.  That number has not called back even once since then.  It is worth a try.

The audacity of  CONSTANTLY calling my cell phone number and leaving a recorded message for me to return their call so they can collect a debt.  They are calling the WRONG person, and if they listened to my voice mail they would know that.  I finally called and told them to IMMEDIATELY cease calling my number!

I Never answer it anymore...F That

Yes, I am being harrassed by 1-800-498-2223 and they ask to talk to me and told them this morning I am not here, the number is not even listed as coming in to my phone, as comcast service, I can check missed calls  answered call and calls that I make. It  just read the postings about it was a collection agency, well I am being bothered. I have an extended fraud and security alert and mail being diverted. I did not even place this with Experian and they wont even talk to me. Frankly, I dont care, I have spent numerous hours and time getting all information lined up and whenever its tax time, although I have not filed, nor am required to, or when my credit is at its best. It happens again. I dont know who to turn to anymore. Even my last three user names have been hijacked. What a way to live. Whatever happen to privacy of your mail and privacy of a simple email. The last ten years, I spent doing research, how boring, No fun if someone wants to hack me, they  wll get very sleepy. I am boring. But no more wasting my precious time on these unpleasantries that never go away.

had these people call under a different number yesterday now they are calling again. They claim to be looking for a shawn snow. Don't know a shawn snow nor do I want to, told the monkey on the other end of the phone to stop calling. Next time I'll just let my fax machine pick it up see how they like that in their ear!

Hey folks,

Rather than railing at these types of calls, here's a suggestion. If you have AT&T phone service you can block up to 6 calls. To access the site, just Google "at&t call blocking 60" and you will get to the site and once there, just follow the instructions. It's simple and it works.

Good luck.

Too bad CBCS is so stupid, Told me I owed for a negro's funeral and casket.  I told them its no kin. If his son was too cheap to pay then feel free to reposses the casket and just dump the body on the ground. It does not matter to me.

Publish their number so the rest of us can spread the wealth.

When people call them back, just don't divulge how their number was derived - keep them guessing!  ;-)

Yes this CBCS is mysterious they are calling people all hours of the day and night what company calls after 5:00 pm.  Well the joke is on them when you don't have a landline but magic jack and their real number pops up on you screen but they leave a different number, I call them back and ask how does it feel to have some strange person having your number mysteriously and calling you repeatedly all hours of the day and night this reall creeps them out because they want to know how you got their number.  It is true people should not be calling you with a debt you paid years ago

I have never (personally) received a call from this company. HOWEVER, they recently called my mother-in-law, asking for ME (how they got her number is beyond me!) My number has been the same since 2001. For added frustration, my mother in law has cancer and is currently taking chemo and radiation treatments ... I contacted this company with the return number left and DEMANDED they NEVER call my ill mother in law again. The "rep" stated they would do what is necessary to "cure the debt". When I asked what debt, he begin to ask me for my mailing address, phone number and SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER!!! He's outta his mind if he thinks I'm just going to give this info over the phone to a complete stranger. I mailed a "Cease and Desist" letter (certified) the very same day!

I've received several calls from these people, claiming on the voice message that this is an attempt to collect a debt. We don't owe a penny to anyone. Really annoying, and a practice I'd certainly call a scam.

I get calls on a daily basis. I talked to them a couple times and I told them I wasn't paying it and to just quit saying it and go ahead and sue me! Guess what? A year later they are still calling and no court action!
