this number is on a auto dialer from Qwest. It is a commercial call. It has been said that you can be taken off of their calling list by calling the number and requesting removal. I don't know if this works because I do not answer the calls or would I ever call.

If you are a Qwest customer, it is not a violation of the no call list rules for them to call you.

So anyway, if it's a quest call, and it's not against the law to call me, THEN, SPEAK UP, OR FOREVER HOLD OFF CALLING ME FOR NOTHING!

Trust me, they will not stop! Everyone needs to do something about these obnoxious calls. I have been bothered with this number for over 2 months and have continually asked them to take me off their calling list. They say "okay" and hang up, or they say it takes 6 to 8 weeks which never happens. They continue to call daily and do not quit. I finally had enough and called the number back and asked to talk to a supervisor. She was very polite and said it would be done within 24 to 48 hours. If it doesn't stop...I will drop their phone service and find another.

These idiots from SP Data of Ontario, Canada(a subcontractor of Qwest) have been harassing us at home with abandoned phone calls despite our repeated requests to stop.  We have requested over the phone and in writing but their calls continue.  If you are being abused too, please write them to let them know how much you appreciate the harassment:

info@spdatallc.com
customer.compliance@qwest.com
fccinfo@fcc.gov

They ARE violating FCC regulations by continuing to place abandoned calls.

This is for Qwest - we get about 10 calls per day every day of the week, starting about 8:00 AM. I called the number back and they said they would email the departments that do outbound calls to remove us from their list.

We keep getting repeated harrassing telemarketer calls from Qwest. I tell them I'm not interested and take me off there list but they have continued to call me everyday for months. Today I asked to speak to a supervisor and they hung up on me. We received 2 more calls from them today about 5 minutes apart. How can I get them to stop!

1-800-503-0331.  This is Qwest, they call to see if you need an upgrade or if you are getting the best value from their services.  Because the calls are generated by computers, they can not leave a voice message.  You can request they put you on their do not call list.  Additionally, they are friendly and helpful.

If you are a customer of Qwest - you have no recourse for don not call or other complaints.  I have been known to answer with a loud whistle in a callers ear!!!

However, if you are not a customer of Qwest; A good  place to file a complaint is with the Federal Communications Commission.  The rules they govern are stricter.  I believe it is complaint # 1088

FCC doesn't mess with complaints; and my complaints in the past have always been investigated!!!

FTC and donotcall, place complaints on a list, and will investigate, file charges if they see a pattern.  So everyone needs to file complaints, so that there will be a definite pattern!.

Anyone have problems with Collection Agencies calling?  There are laws to protect Consumers from these jerks.  #1, they technically do not have any authority.  They usually purchase charged off bills, from other creditors for pennies on the dollar.  #2, because the bill is with an original creditor, you are NOT obligated to these jerks.  They will try to convince you that you are.  #3 the only way you become obligated to these agencies, is if you make payment arrangements with them; thereby creating a contract/agreement, where none exist, when they first contact you!!!

If you answer the phone,  simply say:"I do not discuss financial matters by phone - send me a statement in writing and I will respond to it."  Then Hang up!!!  Otherwise, they will have you completely shaken!!!  The longer they keep you on the line, the more chance they have, to get money from you including payment arrangements ? or payment agreement/contract!!!  You are NOT legally obligated to talk to them!!!

Collection agencies are ruthless jerks!!!  They will tell you they are the original creditor when they are not - even though it is illegal, for them to do it, per Federal Consumer Protection Laws.  You can legally sue them for $1,000.00 per violation.

When you do get a statement - google "FAIR DEBT COLLECTION PRACTICES ACT" One or more online Attorney websites will be shown.  These websites will have valuable information, including a Cease & Desist sample letter; or a Cease Communication letter.  Once received, it is a violation of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, to contact you further.

You can also educate yourself by reading Consumer Protection Laws at www.ftc.gov;  a lot of valuable information.  Don?t have time,  download and read later.  You will be glad you did!!!

I am not an Attorney - just an Educated Consumer, in Consumer Protection Laws.  I have spent hours studying these laws and becoming familiar with them.  They have helped us and friends/family as well; and hopefully it will help someone, who reads this.

And for those self-righteous criticizers, who say, just pay your bills on time; things happen to people with Credit Card debt, medical bills etc., often beyond their control such as job loss, divorce, death, illness etc. and you find your self in a bind.  We've been there, we know.  You do not plan to pay late, or not make payments; but if the income quits - there's not a whole lot one can do!  You then are forced to prioritize, Mortgage, Utilities, Car payment then food, if you can!  Other things have to be let go!

I hope this information will be helpful to somebody who reads it!!!  Also another site to check out is www.ccdnlaw.com, good information.  And they can help you!!!  If you fill out the contact us, put down your referral by tlcpetmommy ? in the comments section;  they will know who I am!!!

I wanted these calls to stop, so I got out my QWest phone bill and called a couple numbers.  No success.  Here's the story:
1rst CALL: 1-888-273-4775(DirectTV from QWest). I requested my number be put on their No-Solicitation-List.  'Mike' said "We'll need your permission to open your account. We have to update your information."
I said, "You have my phone number. Just put it on your do-not-call list."
Mike very rudely said "NO!"
2ND CALL: 1-800-244-1111(QWest Customer Service)Told her to put my number on their No-Solicitation-List. Megan tried to sell me their Bundle Package! She said in order to put me on the do-not-call list, she would have to update my account information with DOB & SS# or DL#. I refused to give the info. She offered to put a BLOCK on my phone which she said would block most solicitation calls. I said, "I'm not asking you to block other callers. I just want to block you!"
So, no luck even by calling customer service...and I am one other their customers!!!!!!!!!

This is Qwest. I asked them to take me off their calling list over two months ago and they are still calling daily. I once again answered when they called today and told them to stop calling and they said it could take 6 to 8 weeks for that to happen. I am sick of their b***s*** and will be calling a representative tomorrow.

They called me yesterday. It is a "vendor" for Qwest. They want to talk to you about your "optional" services- call waiting. caller ID etc. Too bad they called ME - for over a year I've been trying to get them to cancel "linebacker" {they will fix your inside phone line wiring for nothing) I have a better landlord than I did a year ago - now they fix everything...FAST!

I kept the gal on the phone till she finally turned me over to her supervisor. Got his name and the company's name, a phone number to call if it's still on my bill next month AND the guy apologized.

We'll see . . .

You need to know, contrary to others posting here, if you are a QWEST Customer they are not violating the do not call regulation.  The Do Not Call Registry states that you may still get phone calls from companies and businesses that you hold accounts with.  All you have to do is call the number back and request to have your number placed on the QWEST do not call list and they will remove you from their computers calling lists.

If that does not work, you can request in WRITING they not call you, and they will be violating Federal Telephone Laws if they continue anyway.

You can tell them in writing you do not do business of any financial nature other than in writing, and to only communicate any writing.  You can also request, they remove you from their solicitation lists.  If calls are continued after sending a written request via Certified mail, and they receive it, then they will be in violation of Federal Laws.

Please, if you value your sanity, and your wallet, do not consider a bundle that includes DIRECTV.  Check them out at "direct tv complaints" on the Internet.

Good luck - by the way, I get the calls too.

Still calling me despite my having done two "account reviews" w/live sales reps.  Both times I said I wanted to change nothing about my current Qwest account.  Believe they will keep calling until they make a sale.  Also mailing me frequently to try to get me to "bundle" my services.  Neither one's gonna happen, guys.

800-503-0331, I called back to tell them to stop calling me and I got an apology.  I was upset with all the calls and no one there.  The person said this is a promotional call, and electronically dialed.  I was put on the no call list, which she said would take up to 30 days to go into effect, so until them, I continue to get the calls!  My time on the phone to be put on the no call list took too long, and I told her so.  I felt I was being scammed, but it was a 800 number, and ID was QWest.  She said she had to get a confirmatiion number, or I wouldn't be put on the list.  She was pleasant.
