Total Attorneys never selects numbers randomly. They only call numbers that were entered onto their forms by real people. Don't blame the company just because someone entering information on the form misused your info.
| Kate 2011-04-25 17:06:27 Unknown |
You received that phone call because someone used your phone number to fill out a form on their website and request an appointment. They are a legitimate company, but whoever filled out the form on their website probably didn't want to use their personal number and used yours instead. After someone leaves a number, their operators are required to call 4-5 times before giving up to follow up with potential clients. Don't blame the company; blame the jerk who fraudulently gave them your phone number.

If they called you in error, just let them know and they will take you out of their system.

Just received a call from 800-510-6420, I did not answer but the woman calling left me a message stating her name was Katrina from Amore & Regal (spelling) regarding a bankruptcy form she claims I filled out on line and asked that I call 866-403-1737. I've never filled out any such form & have no idea what she is talking about. She's looking to set up an appointment with me. I will not be calling her back.

My caller left a voice message stating that I requested online for legal help with a lawyer that I was working with. Totally false and annoying.

Someone representing a law firm saying I filled out an online request for a consultaton for bankruptcy. I did not and do not do this sort of thing online. I believe it was a cold call using my name and number info.

This is now a DUI Attorney. Somehow they got your number because either you or someone who previously had your number needed a DUI Attorney at one point.

This number has been continously calling, even during the weekend. I've told them repeatedly to please stop calling, when they do answer the phone. When, I first missed the call, I called the number back, it did'nt say who it was, it was an automated machine, saying that I was the 4th caller caller Q!!! They will NOT STOP calling my cell, and it's getting very irritating, please stop this!!!!!

I called them back and spoke with a very nice lady named Tracy. I asked to be removed from the call list and she took me out of the system. The only thing other than that, that she said was to ask me if I was interested in a bankruptcy proceeding or if I had filed a form for bankruptcy. I said no and she removed my info.

Its an MLM scam - somewhat sophisticated but still a scam. The reason the attorneys are bugging the hell out of you is that they've already paid up front to get your number from the scam artist; he's got his money already so he's fine. So what's the scam? The lawyers are told that for a fee, they can get a list of numbers for people who want to declare bankruptcy. So either you want to do it or you don't - the scam doesn't prey on you, it preys on attorneys looking for business. I wouldn't do the consultation if I were you; chances are the lawyer is trying to recoup whatever he paid for your number. Since the lawyer pays up front for the numbers, regardless of whether you want to do bankruptcy or not, it stands to reason that a lot of the numbers are just selected at random to round out the list and make it look more impressive.

This is an attorney reference number. If you are getting a call from this number it is to schedule an appointment with a local attorney to help you through the bankruptcy process. This number never calls anyone who has not been asked to be contacted. So either you or someone who knows your number and feels safe giving it out has requested that someone call them to set an appointment. This is not a scam as posted above they do not want money the attorneys that list with them pay an advertisement fee monthly.

I have been receiving a number of these calls indicating my wife filled out a form on line in February inquiring about bankruptcy. This was shocking to me because my wife is deceased and could not have done so. I told them that on 4 different occasions. They tell me they will remove my number number from their system. Yet, the calls continue. I understand that a prankster may have submitted the request. I do not understand why they continue calling after they have been told.

Hi Duh,
I agree with you that it takes critical thinking to figure out that your information was entered online for whatever reason, and that the organization is just responding to a request. However in my situation I think 5 total inbound phone calls, 4 of them with me actively telling the person on the other line they have the wrong number is a little over the top.
I think it takes a little critical thinking on the caller's part to actually follow through and remove someone who obviously being erroneously contacted.

I received a call from this company on Sunday 3/20/2010 in the morning and they left a message when I didn't answer. They called me someone else's name (Terry) on the message and said that they were responding to a request I had sent online to be contacted regarding some legal matter. They told me they would return my call 3 days later at 10:30. I did not return the call.
Sure enough 3 days later I received another call from a woman requesting to speak with Terry. I informed the woman that she had the wrong number kindly and while she seemed surprised, she hung up.
The next day I received another call from a gentleman saying the same thing as the day before. I informed him as before that there was no Terry and that they had the wrong number. He said he would update his system to reflect that information. He was very professional.
3 hours later I received another call from a different gentleman at MY WORK NUMBER (which is different from my cell, which was originally called) and once again he asking for Terry. I told him they had the wrong number and asked him to please remove my name from his database.
He must have assumed that he had just dialed wrong, because he apologized and hung up, and then called me once again at my work number.
I said "It's the same person again, do you need help removing my name from your database?"
And he hung up on me.

This company only calls people because they have received a request online to do so. They have no way of knowing whether or not it is a prank or some other kind of misinformation being provided. The service has a nationwide network of bankruptcy attorneys who sign contracts to cover zip codes in their area. Once a request has been filled out, usually at a site like totalbankruptcy.com or clearbankruptcy.com, this service calls people to confirm whether or not they have filled out the form. The best thing to do is answer and tell them they received your information by mistake, and they are glad to remove it. All it takes is some patience and critical thinking to figure out what's going on.

It's in reference to something you have done online. If you just call them and ask to be removed from their list they will. All you do is give them your phone number and they can confirm your name and they will remove you. They are very nice as long you don't badger them upfront for calling. It's a database they are calling from. I don't want the calls either.
