This number calls me 3-4 times a day.  It seems there is no getting rid of them.

Answered the phone, and received an automated message stating they were Macys, and to call 800 511 3207 "regarding a business matter".  I checked, and my Macy's account is paid up.  Called the regular customer service number for Macys from their website, and they told me the number "did not look familiar" and was likely a fraud.  They told me not to call it or give them any information. I called the 800 511 3207 number anyway and spoke to Belle. She wanted all kinds of information to look up my account -- which I refused to give.  She said they were "collections for Macy's" and that she worked directly for Macy's/Bloomingdales.  I told her that she was working for a scam and she needed to quit her job
immediately.  Demanded a supervisor.  She refused several times, so I yelled. The supervisor also wanted tons of information.  She could not look up my account even after I had given her my name, city and street name.  I asked if they could see my phone number, and she said no.  (This is almost certainly a lie, since 800 numbers provide caller-id universally, and I know that personnel in other call centers are instructed to lie about this fact.)  I told her that the process they use for collections, if they are indeed Macy's, is completely broken, and that if everyone were as appropriately careful as I was, they would never collect a penny.

I went to the Macy's website to double check this phone number.  The number was not on the web  site.  So I called the phone number to Macy's from the web site.  The rep stated confirmed it was a legitimate call from the collection department for Macy's. (I was late on my payment, so that is why they called me.)

I have received SEVERAL calls from this number day and night. When I finally called back, they wanted my account number, my phone number, and social security number.
I refused to give them any information and asked them to remove my number from their call list. They said they needed the information requested. I told them they HAD my number otherwise they would not be calling me!
I have canceled my Macy's account. I suggest EVERYBODY who is getting these extremely annoying calls do the same. If we ALL canceled Macy's cards, maybe the company will be more sensitive to when and how they make these calls.
I will not do business with anyone who has no respect for their customers.

Suspicious call from 800-511-3207 claiming to be Macy's and that this was a business call. I know there is nothing wrong with my account. This was the third call, and they wanted my account number, which I would not give without their giving me a reason for wanting me to call this number. They wouldn't (or couldn't) give me one. I doubt that this was really from Macy's. An Internet search shows that others have had the same complaint and this has been going on for years.

I received multiple calls from this phone number over the course of 3 days.  Every time I attempted to pick up the phone, the caller would hang up.  I called the number back today, and they wanted my account number.  They identified themselves as "Macy's and Bloomingdales Credit Department".  The individual who answered the phone did not say who they were and refused to provide credential to me.  I called Macy's customer service line, and they kept "assuring" me that my complaint would be taken care of.  They said that my account was overdue, and had a late fee attached.  I realized that somehow a payment did not go through last month, and they kindly removed the late fee for me.  I paid off my balance immediately.  I informed Macy's customer service that it is bad business to contact people without providing proper information.  They apologized.  The customer service rep from the Macy's credit account department said that the 800-511-3207 number was actually a Macy's call center in Ohio.  So, it may be safe, but they need to change how they handle these calls.

Collection agency's only get paid if they collect the debt. That's why they harass people so much.

They usually won't leave a message since, unless the law has changed, they are only legally allowed to leave one message.

Get many calls from this number.  Once I answered it and the caller said they were from Macy's & Nordstroms.  Asked how they got my number and that I wanted it removed.  They requested my number because they say it is automatically dialed.  When I hung up, they were able to call right back; not once but 3 more times.  I then answered, gave them my phone number and asked them to remove my name.  The caller then wanted to know  the last 4 digits of my social and I hung up!  This has been going on for the last couple of weeks and I'm getting pretty annoyed by it.

My Macys /American Express card was frauded for more than $6000 in Four days.
Thieves called Macys , changed my address and had a replacement card express mailed to them .
Macys fraud dept. Did call me on the fourth day of charges and We closed account.
Don't count on them to be in any rush to find these thieves.
It appears this is an epidemic . Do the legwork yourself and send to them.
Have "SHOW ID" on back of all credit cards.

They call me 4 times every morning, I have told them that my card has been paid off and canceled and they still call. Every morning, I get 4 calls from them between 9-10 AM. This is against FCC regulations so yesterday I called back and told them that if they called again that I would file harassment with the FCC against them. Lord and behold, 4 calls this morning, so I just went to the FCC website and filed a harassment complaint, hopefully they get the message and get fined.

I posted this on another board and wanted to share my experience here too.  I don't know if the other people are getting scammed or not (everyone seems to have had something different happen with this phone number); I can only speak for myself.  I get a call from this number every day.  I don't answer, and I've only ever received one recorded message on my voice mail.  I reverse-looked the number up and found these threads.  So I called the number on the back of my Macy's card and was told these calls were legit for me and would continue.  I'm just gonna copy and paste what I posted on the other board.  Buyers, beware!

"Wow, what a fricking gyp.  I figured out what's going on with these calls, and I just wanted to share this with anyone who might be considering getting a Macy's card.  I'm furious.

I use my Macy's card to charge one or two things, pay it off, then charge one or two things again.  I don't have some crazy outstanding amount with them.  My minimum payment was $25, and I always made 2 biweekly payments of $20 each for a total of $40 a month.  Suddenly, my minimum jumps to NINETY-FIVE dollars, and these calls start.  I called Macy's directly to find out, and here's why:  In January, I miscalculated and only made one payment of $20 instead of two.  So because I was $5 short one time, my minimum payment jumped to $95 (I have a $98 balance total).  Further, I was told by the oh-so-helpful Indian woman with the thick accent and the poor grasp of English that if I didn't pay the minimum *each* month, I would have a $35 late fee tacked on every time, and these calls would continue.  I'm sure this was all in the fine print when I signed up for the card.  Fool me for not being more careful.  Since this happened in January, that means my real balance was probably something like $118, and after my $40 payments in February and March, I'm only down to $98.  I wish I would have caught this sooner.  I was stunned, and the woman then had the nerve to say that she could post-date a check for me right then and there (I've since been told this is illegal, but I can't say for sure if that's right).  I'll admit I said some impolite things in response to that and hung up.  Friends and family told me since they've had similar shady stories with their Macy's accounts.  So I'm waiting for my final payment in full to clear, and then I'm going to a Macy's store in person to close my account so I can deal with an actual American.  Does this make me racist?  I'm too irritated to care at this point.  I doubt my complaint and account-closing will do much of anything within their vast corporate system.  But as I'm still getting these calls, the instant my payment clears, I will then answer and threaten to report them to the FCC if they don't stop calling.

For what good it does!"

I got a second call today (1st yesterday).  No message, just one missed call each.  I do have a Macy's account.  I make just a bit more than the minimum payment each month -- suddenly my minimum payment jumped to $95, and these calls started!  I'll call Macy's directly to get it sorted, but I'm wondering if there was a glitch, and the calls are connected to it.

They've called 12 times a day for 5 weeks. I have never had a Macu's card. I don't have ANY credit cards. I'm putting call block on my phone so I can block these a** holes. Then I'm filing a complaint with FCC.

800notes is not a call blocking service. You will have to do this yourself. Demand a legitimate, physical mailing address in which to send a cease communication letter VIA certified mail with return receipt requested informing them your employer does not allow these calls. This is your right under the FDCPA.
