I owe $ to Kay jewelers. It's my own fault. Gregg DID call me a lot, but I avoided the calls like most do when you don't know what you're going to say if you do answer. I have to say, he didn't seem rude, stern, but not rude. The only other person he called was my fiance, who DID answer. In fact, the only reason I called back was because he told me Gregg DIDN'T sound like an a$$#@!*. When I called him finally, he was professional, we went over some payment options & since I was @ work. Agreed to speak with me the next day when I had off to finalize the agreement. Now, we're talking $1100.00 total I owed, so maybe I wasn't "the biggest fish he had to fry",so he didn't have to be as aggressive? I initially was gonna do $196.00/no. But,before I called him the next day, I did some figuring and was able to take the "settlement amount " of $800.00 which will be paid later this mo. The way I see it is I was the one who dig the grave ...what these collectors do is unfortunately their job. It may not be what you or I would do, but imagine if he has to call one person that many times, how many people he has to call in a day! That has to suck! I knew as soon as I was approved for that card it was a bad idea so again, I've reaped what I've sown. Learn & grow people

I represent a client in New Jersey who recieved a call from Greg Barker, Haster Law Firm...the same numbers listed above.   I have delt with 100's of collectors over the last 30 years and yet no one compares to this A** HOLE.  

Although I have "power of attorney", as I do with many clients, in order to handle all financial matters and negotiations on their behalf (i.e. both personal and professional associations), this unmitigated A** HOLE did not respect the fact that I legally represent my client. After disconnecting our call and my calling back, as a provacateur, he attempted to play my irritation to further inflame the situation.  What an A** HOLE.

I have just filed a complaint with an associate from Graduate school who handles these matters for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.  This is only the second time I have had to contact him and I suggest others file complaints against IGNORANT collector scum bags like this guy.  They are there to help you. Listen people! This is real life! They is a real Law Firm! This Greg guy may not be the nicest to deal with, but in the end if you ignore the real issue (the money owed on the credit card bill) and get caught up in a personal conflict or just continue to put it off, things will get worse! I did just that and got sued and now my wages are being garnished and I have no choice but to pay. They are taking almost 20% out of my check, which I cant afford to pay!  This really sucks! :(

Hello, I am one of those who received called from The Haston Law Firm Office. It was a nightmare in many ways, pushy, threatening, rude and more. My debt was with a Credit Card. This people found out how much I had in my bank account, when my last deposit was made; it was like they had my statement right in front of them. There was an account in my Credit report, I was just an Authorized User, but they insisted that it was mine, they insisted that I had assets, because there was available credit which would cover my debt, they tried to make me believe that I was as responsible for that account as the other person in the account, that my name could not be removed, when I told them it could. Needless to say, I removed the name myself and that Credit Card sent me a letter confirming that my name was no longer there. The asked me for friend or family members, to borrow money from them. They could not find family members, because they are overseas. They gave me deadlines, which kept moving as time went by. I could go on and on. They made me an offer and then another and how they would work with me by taking money of my bank account every month. I was able to get a hold of some money, I was so sick of them that I just told them to send me to court or to take the money I had. They took the money which was much less than their Final Offer. I had contacted the Legal Aid Society for advice and heard from them after I settled; they actually told me to let them take me to court since I am unemployed.
I am not sure if this was the best way to deal with this situation, but I've learned from it and it is over.
Do not let them get to you, do not believe everything they tell you.You should contact the MS Bar Association; something I probably should have done, but I did not think about it until after it was all done.

Guy named Greg for Haster Law Firm (at least that's what he claims) keeps calling.  I don't answer and let go to voice mail.  Today, he called me "f**got" and "Qu***" on my voice mail.  I am reporting him to the FBI for the obscene language, the Federal Trades Commission for business conduct violations, and the Calif. State's Attorny General Kamal Harris for harrassment.  He calls from both 800-511-6409 as well as 952-944-1620.  BTW, I have absolutely NO debts, paid or outstanding, with Greg or his law  firm (although I understand he also claims he's from CPC collection agency)....Don't put up with this abuse any longer.....complain and report him to as many agencies as possible.

Apparently this collection company is still up to it's old practices of intimidation, hositility, and deception. I am in the middle of composing a cease and desist letter to Mr. Greg Barker because he chose to call me at work (saying he "was returning a call from" me - - I don't think so!) after I made him to stop using my work email address to harass me. He YELLED at me about not speaking with him. Like most people, I did not fall behind on payments on purpose (I was out of work for medical reasons and then returned to work to a job with 15% less pay). I am still working to catch up with many of my bills and will continue to do so, but not with him and not with this so-called law firm. If they contact me again, they WILL be hearing from my attorney.

Folks, please look up the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and educate yourselves against scumbags like this.

GET A CALL FROM THE SAME # (GREG BARKER)

Greg Barker called my mother's house looking for me as a contact for my mother-in-law. My mother lives 300 miles away and he asked for me by my maiden name. I have no idea how he connected my mother to my mother-in-law.

This guy is as crooked as the day is long. He called fishing for information most likely in conjunction with a debt collection. On the flip, he is doing his job as an information sleuth... but, that only slightly rectifies the fact he can be extremely condescending and will calmly antagonize you are fuming and blow up... then your the "angry" one.

They can sue but the judge just asks how much you can pay, and you have to pay that monthly which pisses the debt collector off because they could have taken the hundred dollars a months but instead they get stuck with 10.

This guy Greg calls me non stop, There is no point to paying him because when you make a pyament he still calls non stop to get more money. I made a 200 dollar payment and he called a week later for the rest. The only reason I have this problem is because my fiance's parents co signed for a credit card that I told them I didn't want, but was pushed into it. I told him i was a law student and the threats he was making was illegal. He is a terrible person who will call every relative or friend of your he can find. They have caller ID so they can return a call from any phone you call from. If you can make arrangements with the person you have gotten the debt with or go to a debt consolidation place to handle that paticular debt. This place is ridiculous and there should be something done about it. He also call his family to get payment from them or threatens to sue and take there house. I paid it off and submitted my credit card receipt to my credit report because he did not send me a reciept like he promised. They did an investigation and it was removed. I also recieved calls from 952-540-4788

I received a call from a GREG BARKER calling from HASTER LAW today at 11:09 am from the telephone numbers of 1-952-540-4788 and also 1-800-511-6409. He informed me that he wanted to talk to what turned out to be my son.  He informed me that my son has been IDENTIFIED AS A RUTHLESS CRIMINAL WHO IS ACCUSED OF TAKING ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE.  You can imagine the gall of someone calling a mother to inform them of this information.  As I knew that my son has never presented that image to me, I began researching this firm and discovered that we are to inform a Consumer Protection Lawyer.  I will be making that call as soon as they reopen in the morning.

I would say that this GREG BARKER is the ruthless one from this conversation.

I have received so many calls from this guys that he makes me sick! Like other comments he managed to get my sister's # and calls her too. I have a joint credit card with my father and I have defaulted on. SO we wants me to pay 6K for him to go away. I tell him I can pay him $100 a month and he refuses to make any payment agreements because I did not keep my last agreement of $350 a month which I can not due. He also says he is going to take me to court for fraud because I spend the money not my father. He was suppose to send me a written agreement thru mail or email back in Sept 2009 and I never recieved it now 6 months later he is calling me again since I made a $350 pymt in Sept and never heard from him until now I thought I had been robbed of those $350 I don't know what to do anymore!!!!!!

I agreed I owed the amount.  I agreed to make payments.  I did not agree to an electronic check because 1) I was not going to give that kind of information to someone over the phone and 2) I know that in the past I've agreed to a monthly agreement with electronic checks then they take the full amount in one lump sum.  Then what am I stuck with? I let Mr Barker know that I'm already garnished, had a lien previously, and cannot have personal calls at work. In other words, I know the routine.  No i can't borrow. No I can't put it on another credit card. And no don't ask me about my personal spending habits. But am completely willing to send a decent payment the next day.  He said he couldn't help me if I didn't do the electronic payment (in the same amount).  So I agreed that he couldn't help me and I hung up.  

The next morning, I did put the check in the mail, as I had planned (after I found that I had received a letter from them and could verify it with the company I owed the debt to).


At some point, my co-worker received a voicemail from him, in her voicemail -- for me.  After I had said we don't receive personal calls due to the population we work with.  And clearly her voicemail greeting was not my name.  I was far too busy with work to listen closely to the "envelope" to listen to the date stamp.  I'll listen to it later if/when I want to.


Perhaps, Mr. Barker wants to make payment arrangements with my co-worker??  :p

This guy skirts the edge of violating the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act with his harassing phone calls. I urge you to contact a consumer protection lawyer if he calls you. You are under no obligation to talk to him, or send him phone numbers of friends or family members.

Yep! Received a lot of them. Phone calls from this number. Very threatening and aggressively probing in nature. I'm researching their credibility. They said they will take me to court if not paid ASAP and I will be liable for all legal fees tripling original debt.

This guy Greg Barker called from a Haster Law firm and they're located in Minnesota; they work as a collection agency. He's been calling me at work harrassing me and threatening me that I will be sued eventhough I'm working with a debt consolidation company.He doesn't seem to care that I'm with a debt consolidation company and wants to squeeze payments out of me. BELIEVE ME IF I COULD PAY MY DEBTS OFF OBVIOUSLY I WOULD!

A mysterious man whom called himself Greg Barker left messages for me re: a lawsuit.  He called my assumed work and a number of a previous addresss and left messages for me with a number of individuals - both associates and family.  I am involved in no pending litigation and don't have any pending against me.  He said he was calling from "Hastert Law Firm."  He is a shady scammer or an unscrupulous debt collector.  Bucking Fastard.

I also got a call from a person named Greg Barker. He states I owe this credit card and wants to know if I have available credit on another credit card to take from and pay them off. He offered a settlement of over 50% but the problem I have with him is he called from a cell phone number. I verified this thru reverse number look up. He also stated he received my account from "CPC" - Mr. Shwartz. They both work together and when I had received a call from Mr. Shwartz all he did was scream at me stating I should grow up and just pay my bills and the number he called from was also a cell phone. I refuse to give anyone my personal information regarding my checking account information to pay a bill when they are calling me from a cell phone. There should be something against the law with this. I am checking into this very fact. The Greg guy wanted me to borrow from my Mom and asked me what was her name. I only gave him her first name. He will never find her using my name.  They asked me if I have ever had my wages garnished or been sued and I stated no and don't plan on it. I don't think he can threaten me with this. I am going to keep track of this call history with them if they try and take me to court. I will tell the judge everything. I also by the way looked up the company he was calling for " Belzer Law Firm" and I can not find the name on the internet regarding them. The only law firm I find has nothing to do with collections.  I don't trust them at all and will not pay a thing until they can prove to me who they really are. The thing that gets me is they wanted me to call them back on the 800-511-6409 and that is not what showed up on my phone. It was 951-545-5868 and what a quirk that my number prefix is also 951-545-????.  So that is was caused the alarm.  I would be very cautious if you get a call from them and they are claiming you owe money. How do I know they didn't some how get my information, pulled my credit report and saw what companies I owe and started to try and collect from me for them and in realty its really all a scam.  Prove to me who you really are.

A guy named Greg Barker called from this phone number and He was a collector looking to get money for an old credit card.  I told him I would like to pay it off but had to borrow the money from my mom.  so he started calling and harasing my mom to get me the money.
He is a dirt bag like most collectors.  I had health issues and had lost my job but they do not care.
