I got the real name of the company. It's called National Service Corporation. Which is a marketing company with reps all over the US. Don't call the (800)-514-0049 That's an old number of their's. Their real number is (757) 498-9700. NSC is in Virginia.
They are part of BBB with a rating of B. Here's the BBB of their company 236 Mustang Trail # 105
Virginia Beach, VA 23452-7517 and their google maps location http://maps.google.com/maps?pq=cyphers+agency&hl=en&sugexp=gsnos,n%3D3&cp=57&gs_id=13&xhr=t&q=236+Mustang+Trl.,+Ste.+105,+Virginia+Beach,+VA&rlz=1C1GGGE_enUS396US400&gs_sm=&gs_upl=&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&biw=1366&bih=667&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wl

http://www.bbb.org/norfolk/business-reviews/m ... a-beach-va-4418 Here's their address

The time to receive the magazines is about 6-12 weeks. So that's about a month and a few weeks depending on the time the company called you. They have reps all other the US. The 770 or 757 area code numbers are different reps.

Please note that the subscription is for 4 years of whatever magazine you had picked.

My wife ended up falling for this and giving out our debit card number.  It didn't sound right to me, so I called the number and asked them to cancel the subscription.  The woman that answered indicated that the pending bank transaction would be canceled, but I'm not getting a very good feeling from the other posts out here.
The number that she received the call from (770-944-0621) supposedly belongs to a Michael Malone, who lives in the Alta Mill Apartments at 1650 Anderson Mill Road in Austell, GA.  However, the person on the phone identified himself as Shawn Malone.  That definitely doesn't sound like a business address or an honest conversation to me, so my confidence level that this is over is pretty low right now.

I received several calls from Mike Malone, but missed them. When I finally answered, I was told that I was a finalist in a Visa/Mastercard-related drawing.  He said that one or both of the companies had entered my name because I was a preferred customer.  Does anyone know if these companies actually do this?  Anyway, after all of the hoopla about being a finalist and getting a watch, he'd talked me into subscribing to the magazines.  As soon as I hung up the phone, I began researching and realized that I should not have given my creditcard info.  I decided not to continue with the purchase.  I called Mr Malone the next day and told him that I no longer wanted to purchase the magazines and was told that someone in the Publishers office(Colorado) would call me and I could cancel through them.  Sure enough, I received a call from a rep. an hour later and was asked if I had been treated ok. I told her sure, but I didn't want the subscription anymore.  She stated that the money would go back into my account and she also warned me to be careful about giving my credit card information since the transaction had taken place.  The business seems legit, but they need to stop fast-talking people and put the bottomline up front.  They probably would get less customers with buyer's remorse if they stop making people uneasy by asking for sensitive information over the phone or offer an option to go online to see what's available since supposedly, there is no obligation to buy a subscription to become a finalist.

I hope that if people fall for this scam that they don't provide their debit card account - it automatically renews at the end and there's no cancelling.  According to the bank, once you've provided your account number, it's authorizes them to do whatever they want to do.  Please, please people, do not make this mistake.  This company is horrible.  They take advantage of you.  The people who work there are not humans, they do not have a heart.

Lesson learned... I used to work with NSC.  I know for a fact people fall easily for the 6 magazines for 30 bucks a month.  THE FREE WATCH?  haha.  That watch isn't even worth the watches you get in the 25 cent machine.  Stop complaining, it's your own fault for giving us your credit card number.  If you cancel it, we have your information and we WILL some how some way get what is due.

This Phone# is also used to debit our account, for $65/month for mags. My wife fell for the WATCH routine.  I complained (bitched), but still have not received the WATCH.

This is the biggest scam of the century. If you get a call from this number, do not agree to anything. You have to agree to a term of one year paying out $74.75 for six magazines and even then they don't start right away, you get invoices automatically from the publishers and it's just a hassle to cancel because they won't let you. BE CAREFUL with this phone number. This is a big scam. You get promised a watch, either ladies or man's and you have to receive a coupon in the mail to get it. This is ridiculous. Don't fall for it.
