I GOT THE SAME THING AND I NEVER EVEN HEARD OF THIS BANK?

I got a text message from suneast federal credit union stating that my card has been suspended due to suspicous activity. Of course when I called the number provided they immediately wanted my account number, pin and last 4 digits of my SS#. Of course I entered totally bogus numbers. The funny thing is before I received this text, I never even heard of this bank, and have never even had an account with them.

I keep getting texts from paging@suneastdep.org reporting suspicious activity.  Of course I'm ignoring them, but they are very persistant since they constantly repeat it.

I got two texts also. I knew right away it was a phishing attempt, I get them all the time though I don't know why. I'm a little older and come from a time when important information was sent through snail-mail at your home address, or you got a call at your home. I wish people would realize that banks, the IRS, lottery officials and such DO NOT CONTACT YOU THROUGH YOUR CELL PHONE OR EMAIL. Sadly, I know of several people who were taken over by scams because they fell for their sneeky trick. Phishing is an attempt for you to offer up your personal information, i.e.; SS#, mother's maden name, birthdate, etc. to these fictitious entities so they can clean out your bank account or open a charge account in your name. Paypal scams are a big one. You recieve an email from what looks like a legitimate paypal site asking you to renew your information and to do so you must click the link in the email. NEVER DO THIS! It will take you to a fake site where there is a form for you to fill in all the necessary information these crooks need to steal from you.

Sun East Federal Credit Union sent me the sam etext message. I had never even heard of them. Needless to say, I have no affiliation with them. Got the same suspicious activity text.

also received text message from caller message read suspicious activity, when I called the number listed in the text it was an error busy signal???? What does phishing mean? Thanks, EG

2 text messages, just like prev. poster, no association with "Sun East Federal Credit Union"
Tried to go to www.suneastdep.org, doesn't exist.

Got a text message from them station "SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY" with this number that I need to call. I'm not part of this credit union and I received a text earlier with the same message from a different number (800-571-1338).
Obviously a phishing attempt.
