I got a call this morning from this number saying they had an $89 package to be delivered by UPS from Victoria Secret requiring my signature. I told them to that I din't order anything and that they souded like tellemarketers. I told them to remove my name from thier calling lists and hung up on them. I went to take a shower and when I got out I had recieved a voicemail from the same person telling me that my voicemail made me sound like a sunny and happy person but in reality I am rude and mean. The gaul of these people to leave a message like this astonds me!! I called UPS and let them know that I had recieved this call and they confirmed that no packages are or were scheduled from my address.

They told me (in the vm message) that it was "April Brown" with "A-1 Delivery" and they had an insured package for me. I chose to look the number up instead of calling back...found lots of interesting information...I learned that this is most likely what is called a "skip tracer" working out of Canada for American creditors so that the creditors can confirm where you are for collections attempts or to serve papers. Don't call them back! Don't tell them ANYTHING.

I Received a call from "Rose," with Best Delivery Service.  She said they had been trying to deliver a package to my daughter from Sony Prize Division, shipping of $65.41 was prepaid and signature was required.  When I told them she was out of town, she tried to get me to give her the name of daughters place of employment so they could deliver there.  Thank goodness, I didn't give "Rose" any information.  She spoke with an heavy Asian accent.

I received two calls from this number saying I had a UPS delivery but they had the wrong address.  The "package" wasn't delivered and then they called back the following day saying the driver didn't deliver the package because the address was a business.....wrong...it's a house.  The person on the line was very friendly, in fact, too friendly and not at all business like, as a UPS person would be.  I tried calling the number back but the "mailbox is full" which doesn't surprise me.  What is this scam anyway?

I have had creditors after me for 5 years. I received a call, which was local, but I do not answer any numbers I do not know.  I reversed look-up on Whitepages.com and it showed to be the local UPS store.  So I called back and the woman did not know of anyone that had tried to call me, though the number called me 3 times within 10 before I called ups.  So, the number called me again and I answered. He claimed to be with a courier service trying to deliver a stimulus check in the amount of $173.  I did not file  taxes last year so why would I get a stimulus check and how in the world would he know the amount!?(things I thought of AFTER the call! darn!)  I asked why a local number showed up and he told me they route their calls through the locak ups.  LIE!  I gave him my address (Stupid) but said I would not be there to sign.  So he said he would put the reason I wouldn't be there was because I was working.  Then he asked me my place of employment and I told him there was no reason he needed to know that.  So I called ups and asked if he knew anything about a third party courier and was stunned at what I told him about the call. I asked him if UPS had a delivery for me that was pending and he looked up my name and then my phone number and there was nothing.  I was terrified and decided to google "Strange called from alleged courier" and it lead me here.  Thanks everyone!

I have received various calls on my cell from this number! I don't answer a call from a number that I don't know and all my friends and family know ths and they will leave a message, if they need me! They have also called from various "local" numbers and leave messages that they are hiring and for me to give them a call about a position. They never leave enough "details" about the postioin to be legit. Also, I haven't been looking for a job!  They have also called my in-laws with the same story and wanting me to call them!  This is a scam to get you info. I do have things that I am paying through an attorney's office so they should not be calling me as the attorney's have all of my info!

Just like everyone else I got the call on my cell phone. When I hit the redial it tells me that "this mailbox is full". I listened to the message that they left, same thing..to call back and schedule a delievery for a package.First of all, I haven't ordered anything and second of all its a holiday today (Memorial day) so they wouldn't have any delievery service. I have been getting this call on my cell for about 4 different times. No further message since the first time. My advise to people don't give out any information..including birthday. You don't want to get into a mess!!!

Wow, I am happy to have found this thread. Like all of you here, I got a voice mail today from a "Sarah" claiming to be from Nationwide Courier with a package for me. 1-800-522-1721 was the number I was supposed to call back with my tracking #. When I called back the number "all lines were busy" and I was prompted to leave a message stating my name, phone # and this tracking #. "Sarah" called me back within five minutes asking if I was someone with a different last name even though I gave my last name in my message. She then asked if my birthday was in August. It is, but how would a delivery service know that? I told her that was none of her business and she said she would call back when she verified who I said I was. She called back ten minutes later and I let it go to voice mail. I'm positive this a collection agency. Don't give them ANY information!

Received a call last night at my home with the caller stating she was with National Express Delivery, asking to speak to my mother who has recently moved in with my family.  The caller started asking my mom a million questions, and when my mom appeared totally confused I asked my mom to let me speak to the caller.  The number that appeared on the caller ID was almost identical to my home number but was off by one digit.  The caller stated that there was a package that needed to be delivered and that a previous attempt to deliver it was unsuccessful and a pink slip was left at my door.  They wanted to verify "the best time" to deliver. When I asked who the package was from, the caller stated it was a Stimulus check in the amount of $287.  She provided a tracking number and stated that the delivery driver would need a signature since it was a certified check over the amount of $200.  She also stated that my mother would need a Password, and stated that the HINT was her place of employment, then proceeded to ask where did my mother currently work.  I was very short but I asked a bunch of questions.  The caller sounded very young, american, but didn't appear to be concerned with All of my questions and she remained professional.  First thing I did when I got off the phone was Google the company's name at which time I realized it was a SCAM and that they are attempting to get information.  I am a detective at the local police department and checked to see if there was any complaints in my area, or any burglaries of residences which fit this Scam.  Thus far there doesn't appear to be, but be extremely careful with divulging any of  your information over the phone.

I don't have a caller id so I *69 the number was 1-800-801-2279. The woman said she was from National Delivery Express. She said she had a package for me from Macy's. She said it was insured and that they needed to varify my birthday and address. After I verified my birthday I realized I should not have. I am wondering what this is.

WOW!!!!!!All sounds very familiar.  They verified my birthdate.  Said it was from Mervyn's and I never got the package that supposidly weighed 3.21 pounds.  My other half is a cop so we were very concerned that the package was suspicious.  They also claimed it was insured and pre-paid for shipping by me.  Beware.

Recieved a call from an April Brown- gave a number as 866-425-7417 and claimed to be from A1 Delivery with a package for me- that was insured.  Provided a 6 digit "tracking #"- which I presume is a reference number for them internally.  Obviously a scammer or some sort of collection agency that is operating illegally.

I'm reporting this to my state's attorney general's office and to the secret service.

While most people associate the Secret Service with presidential protection, since 1984, the Secret Service's investigative responsibilities have expanded to include crimes that involve financial institution fraud, computer and telecommunications fraud, false identification documents, access device fraud, advance fee fraud, electronic funds transfers and money laundering as it relates to the agency's core violations.

I recommend anyone who receives a call from these people to file a complaint.

Esp. the person who explained about the "skip tracers". If you get this call...don't answer it, don't call back..its a creditor or a scam.

Name used in the message was "April Brown" with A-1 Delivery.

These are Skip Tracing companies working out of Canada that have been hired by your U.S. creditors. They are good at what they do because they do not (have to)abide by the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. They will not try to collect from you, they are just trying to pinpoint your location so the creditor can try to collect from you. When they find you they will just hang up. They have found a way to manipulate the caller ID to show a local number. They are on to me (and you) because about 5-1/2 years ago I decided to quit paying my credit card bills, quit accepting mail at my residence and stopped answering my phone. I never moved. When I would answer the phone I would just calmly answer the phone and say "sorry wrong number" or "no one by that name lives here." They have called before but have really turned up the heat because the statute of limitations is about to expire based on my states laws and the date of last activity on my accounts. If you think that they are harrassing you for no reason and you don't owe anything to anyone, you may want to check your credit report to make sure that you have not been a victim of identity theft. The reason they are calling is because you owe money for something and you are delinquent. Tips: Be Cool, Don't allow your children to answer the phone (get them a cell phone), Any strange calls are "them!", Treat every call like it is "them!" Good Luck. PS Don't let it bug you. If you need help just search "credit repair" or "dealing with creditors" on google.

I just got a call from the same number then they called back and my home number popped up so I answered it and they said they were a job placement company calling for a job reference for me.  I told them I haven't been looking for a job in over 6 years and that once they got the correct name for the reference I would answer their questions.  They were asking me what kind of work I did at the place they were calling about and I was very vague with them.  Very strange call

I too recieved calls from someone (1 800 522-1721)who said that they were from DHL and that they had a package to deliver. They started with calling my wife and telling her that I had package to be delivered and the were verifing the address.  She verified the address (oops) and then they had her pick a password, where I worked!  Then they called my phone and said the same "package" routine and had me pick a password that they would give to my wife so she could sign for the package when I was not there.  My birth date.  We called the number back and the mailbox is full and the first number the called from is disconnected.  What now?

I received a voice message from someone named April Brown claiming to be with A-1 Nationwide Courier Delivery.  They left the phone number  877-472-8224, but when I called her back the called ID showed the phone number 800-522-1721.  I got the machine, so left her a message.  She called back within 2 minutes.  She indicated that she had a package from AT & T for me, 3.9 lb, no money due.  Wanted to know when they could deliver it.  I told her that I don't have At & T, she started to change the place it's from twice and then gave me a return address of Marketview Drive in Champagne, IL.  She gave me a tracking number.  Wanted to verify my address, stupidily I gave it to her.  Then she wanted a password- said she could use my place of employment and indicated a name of a place that I do not work for.  I told her I didn't work there, but declined to give my place of employment.  After she changed the name of the company sending the package (twice!) I told her that I would need to make some calls and contact her back.  When I called her back, got the macine again and left message telling her not to send the package.  That I am refusing delivery.  She never called back-so I called again and tried to get an operator, but it forwarded to a general mailbox.  I left them the message that I am issuing a complaint against them here, and with the  local authorities.  Doubt they will call back again.

I received a call from this number a few minutes ago and they asked if someone named "Muhamed" lived at my street address which she said. I told her no, but I did verify the street address which I should not have. She continued and said that she had met Muhamed at a club and dropped him off at my address last week. When I started asking more questions, she hung up. This person was from the U.S., young sounding.

This call was very confusing, and a little frightening, and of course, annoying.
