THey called and left no message. I called the number back and got Compass Bank....( I have never done business with them!) hit the "0" button a few times and was transferred to a real person.  They said they would remove my number as they are looking for someone else.  Time will tell if this worked

I get calls from this number on a regaular bases.

They call people that do not have accounts with them, moron.

This number calls me constantly, 7 days a week, at least ten times a day. I read that it's a debt collector for Compass Bank but I don't even have an account with Compass. I just want it to stop!

This is one of Compass Bank's many collection numbers.

It is Compass Bank, I pay a couple days before the due date or before the car loan grace period date but they are so slow to process they start calling the day after. Giving them the confirmation doesn't work either, they still call 4-6 times a day, usually back to back, until the payment posts. I asked them to move my due date but they said they don't do that.  One year from payoff, I want to write "f-you" on my last payment. I should have refinanced but stupidly have endured several years of harassment from these morons.

Same thing started happening to me 2 days ago for a new cell line I got 2 months ago.  Used you tip and called the number back entered the SS# like you said and the rep said they will stop the calls.  Hopefully this works.

Sorry but that little bit of advice is incorrect. If you sign a contract for a loan regardless if you are a "co-signer" or primary the key word there is SIGNER and you owe the payment as well. You are signing your name to get the loan and by doing so you agree to the terms of the loan and that you are agreeing to take ownership of the debt to make sure it is repaid on time. If you don't think that there is any negative reporting when the payments are not made because your the "co-signer", don't make any payments on the loan and see how it affects your credit... That's why it's not to good of an idea to sign with somebody for a loan unless you live with them because if they don't make the payments then you are legally responsible to make the payment until the loan is paid off.

I completely agree with the comments about Compass Bank.  Even after you tell them when you are going to make a payment, they will call within 48 hours.  I encourage everyone to submit a complaint online at occ.gov and ftc.gov.  And this gentleman is correct, even the next day out of the 10 day grace period they will start the calls.  And once you give them the expected payment date they call back the next day.

They do go over the line when it comes to the FDCRA and FCRA limitations on how to collect a debt/follow up/questions that are asked on the phone call/confidentiality of information, etc.

Please file a complaint - do not let them get away with this.

Paid my compass loan late . Checked my checking account this morning funds already withdrawn from my account. Then guess what compasses computer starts calling harassing me again today.. They have been paid . They got there money. What the hell else do they want. I guess its some sort of punishment to keep calling to make sure I'm not late next month. I cannot see how this is legal to keep calling someone after they have paid. I have 12 more payment with this terrible bank and I cannot wait till there paid in full. I will never use them again.

Compass Bank is one of the most annoying of all the banks I have ever dealt with.  I will never get a loan from them again! They start hitting you with the automated calls at 8am then  5pm followed by an 8pm every day starting on the day you are late.  And I don't mean 30 days late, they start the day after the 10 day grace period. I now purposely don't pay until just before the 30 day late period otherwise it gets reported to the credit companies. When I see their # I just let it ring to the answering machine.

Its Compass bank. Paid my payment late. But it takes them days to get it in there system. Until then they just keep calling. When you stay on the line and tell them that you have paid they treat you like a criminal. Ask you question like why were you late is this going to happen again and let me look this up just to make sure. Bunch of jerks!

Same thing has happened to me.  They won't say why they keep calling but they keep calling and there's nobody ever on the line.

It's unsolicited and they won't honor the DNC list.  If they keep this up they're going to get a call from a lawyer.

Receive numerous phone calls, unable to reach person calling.  This has become harassment. Over what, we have no idea.  Also called family & people with same last name & harassed them.  This does not say anything good for Compass Bank.  If I have a choice, I will never do business with Compass Bank

OK...got through to make it stop. Call the number back.  It asks for an account number/social security number.  Enter 123456789#.  Account rep picks up.  Tell them what is happening and then you can give them the number and they will take it off list.

Just an FYI, if you have co-signed on any type of loan with someone you will receive this call.  You don't really need to have an account that is in your name.  No worries though, if you are the co-signer of a loan, you are not responsible for the repayment.  I found this out through experience : )

yes, calling my grandpa on a prepaid cell number, sometimes he answers which bruns minutes, extremely annoying that they wont stop calling several times per day.

Called my office number.  I don't remember ever getting any type of telemarketing calls there.

Msg on machine just said
"Please hold for a very important call."
Then hung up.

THis number calls at least 3 times a day starting as early as 8:15 AM and goes until 9:00 PM. This needs to stop !!!!!
