Yes rang three times in a row and we ignored it. But I was so curious what they were trying to intercept. Nothing.
So I feared it might be a phishing or eavesdropping scam. I thought, "Oh no." That they just put a bug on our phone.
So thanks for letting me know they are just a "wise"-guy nuisance. I mean, I hope!

Scam CON Artist telling you won a lot of money, send him some, and he will send you millions

Verizon 'block call' worked on this number. Land line phone rang 'funny' three times with Caller ID # 1-800-527-7070. Could have answered during that time but didn't. That was it...the way it's suppose to work :-)

I received a call from the same folks. My phone line was full, so I got there number. I do not pick up unknown phone number because they will charge your phone, I am on the DO NOT CALL LIST,and I will not entertain them by picking up my phone.

I have Call Intercept and 800-527-7070 appeared on Caller ID.  They announced to the Intercept recording they are called from PSE&G, an utility company from NJ.  I accepted the call but the other
Arty hung up.  I googled the. Umber and found this site.

Usually call from " out of area " will be intercepted and when they announced where they are calling from, a distinct ring tone will alert me.  Seem like these people are using SKYPE or other forms of calling that couldn't be detected by normal call trace.  SCAMMER.  The best way to avoid them is eliminate our landline.  If we all drop our Landline service, I believe phone company will rush to solve the " scammer issue " immediately because this has a direct impact to phone company's revenue.

If this number is getting through your call block, get better call block. There are some excellent free (yes, I said free) apps' for cell phones & computer programs for home land-line phones. It's not working? Get something else.

They're being smart a***s... Their Caller ID name is "Call Intercept"
Therefore, it shows up on our caller ID as your phone system is blocking it..
When you see "Call Intercept" on your caller ID, you think the system is blocking the call.
You're more than likely to pick it up to screen the call..
Actually, you connected directly to whoever called...

My rule of thumb, I don't know you, I don't answer...

Call intercept grabbed it.  I didn't answer.  I didn't even get an unavailable.

My Wife got the call first time - had her all excited because the callers were delivering
$1m or $2m (forget the exact amount) tomorrow at 1:00.  She asked me to take over the call --
Their company had already picked up the card fees (whatever that is) but we would have
to pick up the balance -- two cards at 500+ dollars and a third for ONLY 275 dollars.
I said "no-thanks but that they had a pretty good scam going -- goodbye!"
Got the same guy calling again less than 5 minutes later -- He got really upset because I told
him AGAIN he was a Scammer -- wanted to talk to my wife again and I said "NO and DONOT
call again!" .  He said "you know this call is recorded" , I said "GOOD" and hung up the phone.

I have been receiving unauthorized calls from 800 - 527 - 7070. I will be reporting them to the appropriate authorities for further investigation of this constant ignoring calls.

call intercept took the call, gave option to get more info, but nothing happened.

This is the number of Call intecept if you subscribe to it through your phone company.  The actual number calling you does not show up.  If you pick it up you are supposed to have the option of answering it, ignoring it or blocking it.

Got a few calls but Call Intercept got them too. Showed the call as a research group but didn't give a name, jut "research group".
Got tired of them so they can research my blocked call list now ;)

HAD CALL INTERCEPT BUT THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE AN OVERSEAS CALL I WAS EXPECTING SO I ANSWERED - THEY ASKED FOR SOMEONE (A FIRST NAME) I HAD NEVER HEARD OF AND DIDN'T BELIEVE ME WHEN I SAID WASN'T HERE ASKED FOR (A LAST NAME) AND i SAID NO ONE HERE BY THAT NAME AND HUNG UP

Call came in and I have Call Intercept and it grabbed it and then there was peace and quiet. Love it. Tired of getting Ridiculous Calls. These people need to get a REAL Job and Life to go with it.
