Legitimate call from Verizon Wireless following up on a new phone that I purchased. It's merely an automated message that gives you their customer service phone number to call should you need anything.

THIS IS FRAUD. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION.  VERIZON WIRELESS CUSTOMER SERVICE IS 24/7 , AND CAN BE REACHED AT 800-922-0204

Same thing happened to me... Received a call from 1800 528-7589, thanking me for my recent purchase... thing is I never made a purchase.  Called the number, sound legitimate, they gave me their Fraud department number at 1888-483-7200, but stated I may have to give them my SSN to verify any fraud... But I've been on hold for 14 minutes... I'm going to go through the website!!!1

Same thing that happened to David (the comment before mine) just happened to me. I just changed everything for my account.

its a scam. they are looking to get your details (including ssn). harass them.

Verizon just left me a message indicating "Thank you for my recent purchase of a smartphone".  I questioned my wife and we did not purchase any new smartphone.  So, I checked my account online as well as calling the number left on my machine.  There was no new smartphone purchases when I checked online but when waiting for the verizon rep on the phone, it ask for me to enter in my billing password.  I entered my billing password then the rep came on "Jaime".  She asked for my name and looked into my account and did not notice any recent smartphone purchases.  I was not suspicious until I started writing this post.  I went back into my account via online and changed my billing password.  Not sure if they had time to do anything but hopefully I nipped in the bud.

I never answer, but they leave a recording from a high strung female offering........I delete the message as soon as I hear the voice, so don't know what they want. They have called daily for the past couple of months.It's a real pain

Same here - got the same message. Immediately checked online to make sure all the phones on my plan were correct. Suspcious.

I just got 6 calls in 7 minutes from this number! I knew it was someone I didn't want to talk to so I never answered. They called back until I actually picked up and answered.

Recorded message claiming to be verizon calling about my new smartphones (which I do NOT own).  I contacted Verizon Wireless, they were unaware of the number.  It has been reported to their fraud department.

I keep getting calls from this number but IF it is Verizon and they don't have the common courtesy to leave a message, then they can stop calling. Very annoying.

Annoying jerks, my new cordless phones don't have block feature. Put them out of business!

Was an automated message from Verizon Wireless.  I just purchased a phone and set up the transfer for the number today.  Just left a number to call back  if I needed any help with setting up any features or to go to the website.

We just got a call from this number.

Also reporting that it was from Verizon (they finally left a message).  I recently got new service and a smartphone from VZ and they were offering to help set up voicemail, link email accounts and so on.

these people call every day but never leave a message, i'd like them to stop calling

Receive frequent calls from this number, no caller id, no interest in receiving these calls.
