Got one from them -  must be a scam dont have account with |fleet bank.  Urgent system notification-unauthorized acct activity toll free # listed.

Received 2 text messages on my cell a little bit ago.  I don't have an account with Fleet Bank.  It has to be a fraud.  The form ask for all your info...even pin #.  Don't fill out this form.  I would change your profile on any of the accounts you have just in case.

I rec'd the same message on my phone. I called the number and hung up when it asked for acct#.  I then called the 800 number provided and it rolled into a voice mail - a Robert somebody.  The unnerving part is that the next day we rec'd a call that an unauthorized charge on a legitimate card that my husband has occured in China.  In further checking, someone has opened a Pay-pal account within the last couple of days in his name too.  Don't know if it's related or not, but I suggest everyone keeps an eye on their credit.

I received the same text message to call this number from Fleet, we do not have accounts with Fleet and we knew it was a scam. DO NOT REPLY to the text message or call the number!

I got the same message last night and got a bit of a chuckle, guess maybe it could be local.  Wonder if they got my name from an opt in SMS list or what.  Nonetheless, Fleet doesnt exist anymore.  That merger was completed a few years ago, a lot of us in the area may have had some business dealing in that merger.  I don't even have an account with either.  I hope no one feel for it.  I think we should find these weasels and go back to tar and feathers as punishment.  The URL on the email address doesnt really lead anywhere.

I received the same txt, around 7pm, 4 of them, saying urgent system notification unauthorized acc activity. The second and third mssg said the same. The last one i got frmo them gave me and email and a website to go on to update my personal info  auto@fleetbank.com.  Called BOA was told they bought fleet bank out a while back.  Deff dont give any info, it is deff a SCAM!!!

Just got the same thing. I called the number and got send to richards vm. Definately do NOT give them any info.

I got the same call at 7:04pm and my sister did too. I called the number several times and I didn't even get a dial tone. Once I called after 8:00pm it's been forwarded to a cell phone of someone name Richard.

My husband and I both got the cell phone email notices from fleet bank stating an unauthorized acct. activity this evening and we don't have accounts with fleet OR Bank of America. I'm wondering why Mary had to change her acct.# & password if she didn't give any information out???
I also called the toll free number and checked the website and decided it must be a scam. I tried to contact AT&T to have it blocked and there are no service reps available after hours tonight.

Oh - and I don't have any accounts with Fleet or with Bank of America.  So, that should help comfort folks out there.  In other words, these scam artists are just blanketing texts out there in hopes that Fleet customers will bite.

I also spent the day dealing with calls from "Feature Films For Families" - an outfit that uses aggressive and downright deceptive telemarketing techniques to sell their videos.  It is so slick.  They use a series of recordings that the phone operator clicks on.  In other words, you're not talking with a real person, but instead a series of pre-taped bits that an operator is activating in response to what the caller is saying.  My wife's cell phone started ringing too.  I found out about these folks on-line and it is ugly stuff.  I visited the do not call registry this afternoon and put all our phone numbers on it.  That ought to help.

I got a text message at 7:09PM EST - "FRM: FLEETBANK MSG: Fleet Bank urgent system notification - unauthorized acct. activity.  Toll_free call 8005318259."  Text ID was 1010100001.

Then, at 7:36PM EST, I got a 2nd text - "FRM: auto@fleetbank.com  MSG: Fleet Bank Notice.  Possible unauthorized account activity, verify your account at verify-fleetbank.com"

I knew it was a scam but I called the 800 number to see what would happen.  I was asked to provide my credit card number and was told I would have to provide info for 3 other sources too.  I punched in a fake number and it just rolled back to the same message asking me to punch in a credit card number.  I did it several more times, but never got past that menu.  It did say at the beginning of the recording that everyone would be done in automated fashion (i.e. no person).

It sucks when you have to pay for text messages you don't want.  I guess I'll have to try to block them from an  individual source, but I'm not sure if I can do that.

I got a strange text message on my cell phone saying "Fleet Bank urgent system notification-unauthorized acct. activity. Toll_free call 800-531-8259." It came from: fleet@fleetbank.com. Well, I called the number to see what it was, and it was a recording sounding like a robot woman's voice. It said that it needed to ask me a few questions to verify my account, that I could do it all by touchtones, and the first thing they would need is my credit card number. Of course I just hung up. When I type in the website it came from it appears to go to Bank of America's website. When I called BOA they said it was a Fraud, and she had to change my username and password, and put a note on my account in case anything happens.

I don't know, but the BOA rep said that Fleet isn't even a bank anymore. Aparantly BOA bought them out a few years ago.

It IS a scam! I called Bank of America after receiving 2 text messages just like the ones you got. The lady said it was fraud, and she would have to change my online account info (i.e. username, password, and security key). You might want to change yours as well, if you haven't already.

This is a scam and  you  will need to cancel your card if you provide any information.

I have received 3 text messages so far, in the last 30 minutes from "Fleet Bank" saying to either call or check my account online at fleetbank.com. The message says something about possible unauthorized activity. I don't have a fleet acount. However, I did check out fleetbank.com to see what that site is about. It's a mirror image of the Bank of America site. I do have a bank of america acount, however I would NOT email, and advise others not to as well, enter any of the information in the fleet site. Please be careful. It must be a scam!!!
