This company keeps calling me at my place of employment as I have stated that they cannot call my place of employment, they said they would call my cell phone if needed. I am recieving my second write up with the third being termination and then not being able to pay anything. I am single and doing the best I can and losing my job would be a disaster.

I highly suspicion that United Collections Bureau and USB Mediations are the same crooks.  At one time United Collections Bureau uses a number 8004161937.  This is when it was operating or still operating out of Ohio.  Now USB mediations uses this number and they are located in Williamsville, NY.   Both have the same scenario:  Call from and unknown or restricted number.  The field person operates as a process server. He will say to you that you must call Attorney Christopher Hoxxx. He handle's this claim.  He said work it out and this office will be in touch.  You will call the above number and Attorney Christopher Hoxxxx will act like you are going to litigation for a judgment.  He will make you pay immediately from a prepaid credit card.  Don't do it.  I asked for a validation letter.  The letter I got was very poorly written.  It was not professional.  Chris Hoxxxx did not even put his name on the letter his paralegal Colleen Gexxx did not even sign the bottom of the paper.
I asked them for a physical address they took a long time and were very evasive.  
I got:  2809 Wherle Dr. suite#3 Williamsville, NY 14221 this address has not been proven.  I don't know if they changed operations, but both of these sound fishy.  They were also once located in  Clarence New York, but moved???

They call my house every day Monday thru Sunday,  I've explained to them that have the wrong number and they say they're going to remove my number everytime. But thry continue to call I'm getting real tired of this, I've registered  on the do not call list, ghat hasn't done a thing. What can I do to make them stop?

And they have laws and rules to follow they don't just take your money people need to take responsibility for there bills and read before you sign leagal documents if you sign your responsible no one else PAY YO BILLS

Ucb is not a scam they are customer service things have changed they will fire you on the spot for being rude or a min late. Certain ppl may be rude but they are here to help I know people get half off there bill

they are not my relatives,i have no communications from or to them
George,patrick and virginia do not live here ,they have never lived here.

Just got a call from this # for some random lady. Collections.

I thought by law they weren't allowed to call your job.

Repeated calls from these folks about a credit card balance that was paid current. Talked to supervisor (Jeremy), said he'd handle account himself, They wanted to make a deal to cut the balance by 2/3, but wanted money up front.

Got another call from "Dania,." was transferred back to Jeremy. Told him we didn't want to deal with scammers; he seemed very affronted. Will file with  FCC, FTC, and FBI, CFPB. He said he'd remove my name from his list if I told them to "cease and desist." Which I did. We'll see if they can tell the truth about anything.

They must poke though credit report files, as there was no other way that they'd have known about the credit card balance.

These people have called my neighbors and family members. I don't know why they are calling or what they want. They are relentless calling all hours of the day and night 7 days a week.

Debt collector harassing everyday looking for a certain person. Saying, "if you are not the person hang up. If you are the person you acknowledge you are this person and we are from United Collection Bureau calling to collect a debt. Any imformation blah, blah, blah.

First, my question to you is I don't know who you are calling for so it's not me so leave me alone and stop calling my number. Second, how do you expect a person to hang up if your leaving a message on a ANSWERING MACHINE!!!! Finally, why are you (UCB) calling my house when I am at work busy making money to pay my own bills! Whom you are looking for does not live in my house!! Leave me alone!!!!!!

They showed up at my house.  Left a note.

UCB collection agency has called my in-laws, my parents and me repeatedly!  Told them I would deal with them over paper, not going to resolve anything over the phone and to stop harassing me.  Jerk hung up on me. Blocked their # though :D

You are lucky, this Ms Brown has been calling me for about six weeks.  Same thing, guy with same last name as mine.  Told her I did not know him.  She claimed he told her he lived in my house.  Kept cslling and telling me I should consider myself "served" with court papers, said she was sending someone to my house and on and on.  Could not get rid of her, or talk to her as she was always "in court". Then I started to get calls about this guy from three differnt numbers.  Same junk from other people.

 Finally filed a complaint with my state attorney general for consumer protection. Called her back and got her, telling her what I did.  She claimed she did not know anything about the guy etc.

Also called one of other numbers, told them to find this guy at county courthouse, his info was there as he was just in court.  Remove my name I said.  That afternoon they called me again askimg me what i thought I was doing removing my name from the file.

The next morning i received a call from a new collection agency, they had sold the debt and given the company my name and number!

State attorney had me file immediate complaints to FCC, FTC, and FBI.  My agent also contacted the new agency and demanded they let us know what was going on!  Gave them deadline too.  No one can find an address for USB or UCB, but some of my calls also came from a sister company Progressive.  State is working on finding them and demanding explaination too.  There is apparently a scam going around about check cashing places.  They have the person's bank info, private information and are chasing them telling them that their payment checks bounced.  State thinks this guy with my last name has these scammers chasing him and I got caught up in finding him.  This is why USB or UCB or Progressive is so hard to find.  FBI has bulletin on this and other scams.

Called looking for a particular person....told him no one lived here by that name....didn't believe me...still kept talking...hung up on him

My Niece received a messeage from "Mrs. Collar" 1-800-536-5197 Ext. 48863 Ref. 70396004. She forwarded the info to me and I spoke to this rude women. She asked me for everything and when I would not answer she became upset. She would not give me any information about her company and she was inquiring about a person I do not know. Very Rude and Harassing phone calls. Something needs to be done about this.

They left a message saying it was a federal matter - I have nothing outstanding!!!

This is FIA Card Services. Its a Debt collector call from Bank of America.

They called me at 8:00 in the morning and called me at work.  Mrs. Wilson called my house and Ms. Lopez called my work

The one who phoned me from this number called herself "Lydia." She was very pushy, asking for a particular family member of mine. Trying to trick me into revealing my own personal name.
From the get-go, every thing about her sounded unprofessional and so I knew I was dealing with a hack. At one particular moment, for example, she said, "C'mon tell me your name, corazon." (She is Spanish and had a rough and raspy Latina accent).

I'm good with getting the truth out of somebody by making them afraid of the idea that I already know what they are trying to hide, and so I got her to tell me that she was calling from somewhere in Ohio. Of course, that could be a random lie, but it could also somehow could be connected with the truth, (because even random lies are somehow connected to the truth).

Overall, it sounds like a phishing scam to me.

This is probably just another one of those pathetic scams made up by con-artists who are looking for desperate, innovative ways to fool people in this slumping economy.

Someone named Shelby from UCB (800)536-5197 ext 48837 called and told my husband I owe this company money and the payments I am making are not enough. First what gives them the right to speak to anyone other then me. THEN the WINCH called my employer and told them the same thing!!! OMG! I am making payments and if that's not good enough I can stop! These people are horrible ruthless and ignorant, I understand it's their job and job's are hard to come by but where is the humanity part of life anymore. Can't wait for SHELBY to call me...

My uncle is mentally and physically challenged.  He has been in a nursing home for years and now moved to a "group" home.. This company called him there and told him he owes 21,000 dollars but wouldn't tell him what company they were representing.  He was became very upset and yelled at the woman that she had the wrong David he didn't owe anyone any money.  The lady hung up on him and then called back a couple days later. I told the staff to not let this lady speak to my uncle anymore and to hang up on her when she calls.  I mean how low can you get?? My uncle is so worked up he thinks I can find out who they are and what they want just by the power of a computer... we were lucky enough to find out the name but they wont speak to me when I call.... ugghh frustrating!

Got an irritating call from UCD.  Teresa was the caller's name and she was looking for my wife's deceased uncle.  She claimed this is an urgent call and she tried to get assertive with me.  I gave her no information and she still tried to give her number 1 800-536-5197 to me so she can get a call back from 'deceased uncle'.

Some guy named Paul was calling for my mom, but said her last name wrong and got my last name wrong. The number showed up as 419 on my called ID. They did not give me a reference number. I called them back and told them I knew they were fake b/c my mom has no debt and neither do I. The guy got totally belligerent and started to say what he was doing was totally legal, which right there makes it suspect. I said, "Why are you trying to tell people they have fake debt when there's a recession going on?" He told me to have a nice day and hung up. SKETCHY!

Some woman from this number called on Thurs. Feb. 18.  She left a message saying it was urgent but rushed through her name and extension.  I could only get the 800 # and I called Feb.19. Some person claiming their name was Teresa, said the acct. wasn't paid & the last payment was Jan for $40.  That was the arrangement that was made with some other agency.  This is with Capital One and they just shuffle the acct. from one place to another and NEVER contact you.   I couldn't get a straight answer from this person and all he/she would say is that they dropped the acct. because I gave them a hard time and refused to pay.  I have NEVER refused to pay and it has been an automatic debit for months.  I am tired of this abuse!

Rude, rude, rude! They attempted to collect a debt (that I do owe); however, totally unprofessional! Using threats and scare tactics EVEN THOUGH I'M COOPERATING! I gave my account info so they may draft the settlement amount yet they are still calling to harass me because I will not provide a second contact number. If you're calling to get an alternate phone number and I answer, you clearly don't need an alternate number! They're saying if I don't provide it they can not settle my account and they will just have to use "Skip Tracing" to find the numbers of neighbors and family to contact them in case I'm unavailable. They even stooped to saying it was illegal for them to offer a settlement if I did not provide them with an alternate number!
