Yes, they called, along with many other telemarketers on a daily basis.  They sounded official but did not address me by my name so evidently they are phoney.

Harvard Collection Services was established in 1982 and in business for 27 to 32 years.   Since Gloria Kaiser is President and Founder of Harvard Collection Services, Inc.  and it has been in business for about 30 years Gloria would have to be probably over 55 years of age, maybe closer to 65 or 70.

They call every day, sometimes more than once a day, asking to talk to someone who doesn't even live here.   Sometimes they hang up before I even get to the phone, other times there isn't even someone on the other line.  When I have talked to a human being, they were very abusive and threatening, asking for my S.S.N. (which I would not give them).  I looked it up, and apparently it is:

Called saying they had a serious business matter to discuss with me then asked for personal information in order to verify I was who they said I was. I told them I do not give out personal information over the phone and hung up.  

I called the number back and the woman said something that was unintelligible so I said "Excuse me, who's this?"  And she hung up.  Still don't know what she said or who it is.

I received two calls from two numbers 800-214-2098 and 800-536-9633.  Both were to Harvard Collection Agency.  The man I spoke to at the 9633 number was actually pleasant and said he would remove my number.  I then called the 2098 number and another man said that my number had been removed from their list.  We'll see.

SCAM CALL THEY CALL MY HOUSE FROM 800-536-9633 I PICK UP THE PHONE AND AFTER 5 SECONDS I HEAR A PHONE RING LIKE I'M CALLING SOMEONE. A MAN ANSWERS AND SAYS CAN I HELP YOU. I SAID I DON'T KNOW YOU CALLED ME I DIDN'T CALL YOU. HE WANTED TO KNOW WHAT NUMBER I WAS CALLING FROM.I SAID I;M NOT GIVING YOU THAT INFO DUMB A** AND HANG UP. SO THEN I CALL BLOCK MY NUMBER AND CALL THE 800-536-9633 BACK AND THE SAME GUY ANSWERS, WHAT THE F***. SO I WENT OFF ON THE GUY CALLING HIM EVERY NASTY FOUL THING YOU CAN THINK OF UNTIL HE HUNG UP ON ME. CALL ME BACK AND YOUR GOING TO GET MORE.

the caller identified himself from Harvard and  asked for my deceased relative, when I said he had passed away, the caller said he would remove my number. His phone # came up on caller ID but name said "invalid number"

These despicable nitwits keep calling day after day. The only solution is to take some time for your own amusement and keep calling them back over and over to harass them and act crazy. It's fun to see them get so annoyed!

A lady calls identifying herself as being from the Department of Revenue, saying this was an attempt to collect a debt.  She went on to say that we owed money and had even had a fine attached and if we don't pay in so many days someone could go to jail.  This chic had the last 4 of my SSN, which scares me!
1) Doesn't the Dept of Rev, send out notices by mail ?
2) I didn't think you can license a car unless you have proof the sales tax have been paid.
3) When I called back I spoke to a male, who answered as Harvest Services.   I said pardon me, and again he said Harvest Services.  I asked what kind of a business they are.  He said is this Maria _ _ _ _ _ _ _.  I said no and he asked if I knew her and could I please put her on the phone.   I again asked what they do and why a woman called from this number saying she was from the Dept of Rev.  He said they were looking for this Maria person and if I was not her he could not talk to me.

I answered a call from an 800# today (800-536-9633) looking for a ?Robert?  I told him Robert is not here right now, can I take a message? I know several Roberts but before I could identify which Robert he was looking for the guy started asking question like when will he be home, where is he at now, what number can he reach him, was I his wife? I was not even sure what ?Robert? he was looking for! I got quit irritated because he still had not identified himself or what company he was calling from so I very FIRMLY asked WHO IS THIS and where are you calling from?

He then said his name was John Mayhem and that he was calling from ?Harvard.? I just didn?t feel right with all the previous line of questions and with this name he was giving me so I asked him to leave a number and I would see if I could reach "Robert" (I thought he was calling from like Harvard College or something) he then asked me for a number where he could reach Robert, like a cell number or something. I told him that I do not have a number for him. He then replied with a snickering remark? you don?t have his phone number? I said NO I DO NOT! He then rudely said thanks and hung up.

Something just didn?t feel right about this phone call so I looked up the number he was calling from and according to reverse look up it looks to me like it?s a scam company listed as Harvard Collections. So now that I know this, I do not believe that John (as in John Doe) Mayhem (as in Chaos) is the guy?s real name! According to the internet they try and get people's Social security numbers and bank account information for ?Payments? over the phone.

Got the call, looked them up here, programmed the cell phone to hang up on them. I've got another one of their numbers from July, oneeighthundredtwoonefourtwozeronineeight.

There's an issue with cell phones - we don't have to answer them, you know. A lot of places don't allow them to be answered on the clock, either. Mine is on a profile to just give me a chirp tone only if there is a text. No phone ringtone at all - it's a disciplinary writeup if I answer.

Over the last two years, I've got at least 46 numbers in a calling group labeled "Reject," and the phone's programmed to do exactly that - autoreject the number on the first ring. Most are auto dialing debt collection agencies. Some might be doing other work, maybe charity, but they aren't getting thru. I can't answer at work.

Use the programming in your phone if it has some and you will be freed from the aggravation.

got the call asking for a relative at work, i told the person he had the wrong number and then he states he needed to talk to Human Resources or another department regarding the person he asked for. i hung up the phone and called back, someone picked up but said nothing. not a hello, not nothing.

Have been getting many calls from this number on my cell. Then they called my work one day and I didn't realize immediately it was the same number. I answered and the woman said, "Can I speak with [my name.] I said that was me and she said, "Well, I need to confirm your social security number. Is it..." and started rattling off my social security number!!! I asked what the call was about and she said she wouldn't tell me until I confirmed my number. I replied that I wasn't confirming ANYTHING about my social security number unless I knew what the matter was. She then asked to confirm my address and I again declined. She said, "Well I won't discuss anything with you unless I know who you are." I said, "Good, we won't discuss it then," and hung up. Since then, they've been pretty relentless about calling my cell, but they haven't called my work in awhile.

Just got a phone call on Thurs. June 27, 2013 at 6:23pm from this number of 1-800-536-3633. I picked it up and said hello,but nobody said anything back and hung up. So I called this number back that showed up on my caller I.D. to say somebody just called me from this number so that's when this lady asked me if I knew a Judy or Julie Miller who lives in Elkhart,In. I said no , I don't know anybody by that name and who lives in Elkhart. The lady on the other end of the phone call sounded like she was not from the U.S.A., but said that this Judy/Julie Miller person used me for a reference but didn't say if it was for a job or what. So again I said no don't know this person and hung up. Then I thought I'll try calling back to try and get more information and the line kept ringing busy or there was a quick little noice follow by dead silents.Nobody answered my phone call. I thought this is kind of strange. Don't know???

LISTEN UP EVERY ONE  CALL THESE SLIMERS BACK AND TELL THEM YOU HAVE READ PAGES AND PAGES ABOUT THEIR SORRY A***S AND YOU ARE GOING TO REPORT THEIR SCAMMING. TELL THEM THAT AND THEY SAY HAVE A NICE DAY..AND HANG UP....THEY SOUND LIKE A BUNCH OF PRISON PAROLES THAT ARE DOING PART TIME WHATEVER. THESE PEOPLE NEED TO BE STOPPED.

This place is sneaky. A guy called and sounded like he was in the ghetto somewhere. Asking to speak to a firend of mine. Never identified himself. Snotty and arrogant. Said if I tell you who I am will you let me talk to this friend? Dumb stupid a**. Probably just got out of prison. I called back and got a stupid woman on the phone. I asked her what this place she works at does. She said oh we do a lot of things. I said let's see. You get up in the morning..have breakfast ..go to the pottty and come to you work to harrass people on the phone.  This place needs to be shut down and the people put in prison

Seems I'm the exception here. After receiving several calls from this number at all hours of the day, I finally called back. The man who answered was very nice, told me his name and who he was calling from (Harvard Services), and quickly removed my number from their database. Hopefully they've decided to take a friendlier tone.

I would like ot know who the frock this company is. After reading all the posting's it looks like its a company for student loans, I never took student loans. I have no clue,  , but i will be placing a call to them and informing them to remove our number from  their site or some charges will be filed against them....

Got the call earlier this week, said it was an urgent business matter. did not say who they were or what the business matter was. We screen all our calls and let the answer machine pick up, then Google their number. So there you go we know how to find out about you. Ha Ha.

I have gotten a call at least one time a day and they leave the same message as the rest of you/ that this is a serious business matter and not a solicitaion/telemarketing call. I do not answer these kinds of calls. I wish they would leave me alone and wasting their time and I will probably start turning my answering machine off when I see the number come up.

THey keep calling and calling

I received a call this morning from this number claiming I owed money to Clinical Pathologist of Central Illinois.  I called Clinical Path of Central IL directly and do not owe them money.  This number has my name, my child's name, the last four of my social security number, and my address.  They are very rude.

These clowns called my work phone and left a message that it was not a sales or marketing call.  But their smart a***s did not leave a message as to whom the call is for.  I put the message in the "round file."

I also reseived a call from this number 800-536-9633, left same message as Audrey saying this is a serious business matter and not a telemarketing or solicitation call. Tells hours and days how to reach them. Left no name of who they were. I don't answer or call back these kind of calls. Don't anybody work a real job any more? All anyone seems to have time to do any more is call and harass people with these kind of calls. Get a real job and stop harassing people and by the way October is not only Breast Cancer Awareness Month but it is now No Bullying Month. Which is not taken lightly anymore, "it is a serious business matter."

These people have called me twice..first time left a message "urgent call back" and the second time I answered.  It rang like I was calling THEM when I answered then the lady just kept saying hello.  Then she asked if she had my phone number correct...I said who is this...she ignored..then she gave me the last 4 digits of my SSN and I said who is this ....she mumbled something...and asked if those SSN were correct I again asked who she was with "She said I have told you three times I don't get what is so hard about it..then mumbled Harvard Services"  Thank goodness I heard it.  I OWE NOTHING TO THE STATE OF IL OR A STUDENT LOAN ANYWHERE!  I am not sure if that is where she was going with this or not but I am glad I just hung up and checked the number out.  I don't care if they are looking for a relative or even ME for something....but being rude and spatting off my SSN is going to get you nowhere...well actually I reported them to Lisa Madigan's office and pulled my credit report.  Everything is fine on my credit report but I was allowed through Madigans office a number to put a 90 day watch on it.  Obviously some previous posters work for this or agencies like this....I do not think this is legit but if it is...you are going about it the wrong way.  Also, Madigan's office said to tell them if you owe a debt then to mail you a letter because they have to by law...do not give any other information. I too am on the DNC list.  It stinks that they have used up three hours of my morning dealing with all of this!  Better safe than sorry.  Thanks for everybody's post made me feel a lot better from the beginning!
