These people call and pretend that they are a collection agency what do they think i am stupid i owe nothing

I just got a call from this # at my office, they asked to speak to the owner but I told them he wasn't here. I decided to block my caller ID and call them back and the message says that it's ICT Group and that they're a marketing company, and that you can press 1 to have your # added to the do not call list. I did this and it says that it'll take 72 hours for them to add my # to the list, hopefully it worked.

I've been getting calls from this # on my cell phone and it's both annoying and expensive. I don't answer and they don't leave a message. When i called back from a different phone, the message says that it's ICT Group or ICP Group and that they're a marketing company, and that you can press 1 to have your # added to the do not call list. I didn't do that because that will confirm that the number they've dialed randomly is a real number.  I'll have to use another "do not call listing" service to hopefully stop this invasion of my privacy.

I receive a call a least 4 times a day from this number...
I don't answer the phone, but I still have to go the phone to see the number come up.  I am getting very angry.  If they wanted something they could leave a message...

Got a call from a rude woman, and she was asking for the buisness owner, when I told her I was the Assistant manager, she still very rudely asked for the owner, and how she could get in contact with them. Like I'm gonna give away their number to some person who didn't care to identify themselves, so I gave the number to another store that my boss's owned. When I gave her the number, she just hung up. I was angry at how rude that was. So I dialed *69 and this number showed up.

Woman said she was from Wells Fargo and they were going to offer me $100,000 line of credit for my busines because it's credit history was so good. Yeah right. I said that if that's the case why would I need a line of credit?

Didn't stop them, they called again next day (yesterday) but I didn't answer. I'll try Boe's method and see if that works.

woman: Hello, can I speak with [my name]?"
me: Who's calling, please?
woman: The is [woman's name] calling on behalf of Wells Fargo, is [my name] there?
me: Just a second, I'll see.

There was a delay of about one minute. I was at a retail till with a customer, and set the phone down until I had completed the transaction. When I picked the phone up again the caller was gone.

This is the Devil calling you and I would strongly advise anyone who receives a call from this number NOT to pick up.

I'm warning you or you will simply become a tool of the Devil.

I just got a call from the number. Someone asked for me but I answered with "He's not home," (couldn't be bothered with any sales pitches). I'm pretty sure it's a telemarketer.

Okay peeps, here's some facts about these telemarketing "scumsuckers".
-When a telemarketer says that they are calling on behalf of a company, what it really means is that they he/she is employed by a different agency that has a contract with the company that they are calling on behalf of.
There are many reasons that these "bottom-feeders" do this, but it is my personal opinion that they employ this method of deception so that if you phone either one of the  companies in order to complain about any "unprofessional behaviour" by one of their employees the person on the other end of the line can just "pass the buck" and blame the other company (who if you phone will likely place fault on the business that you called in the first place..... Bastards!

- If you ask for the name and contact number of the telemarketing company (not the company that they are calling on behalf of) then legally the telemarketer must give this information to you

-As mentioned above you can ask to have your name removed from the telemarketers list (what is not mentioned is that when they phone and you answer you can request this procedure directly to the rep rather than having to call them back) If you do ask to have your phone number removed then your request must LEGALY be honored within 72 hours (which the telemarketer does not necessarily have to tell you....unless you ask).  

-If this does not work, talk to your lawyer..........or if you would rather not be bothered by a time consuming legal appeal......................

P.S- remember that the telemarketer on the other end is probably as oblivious to any "scam" type solicitations as MacGregrrrr's elderly relation, and that they are merely a paid representative doing their job. quite typically a telemarketing company goes through contracts with their partner companies quite quickly, which is probably why some of you may have been contacted on behalf of more than 1 company, but from the same phone number.

REMEMBER-unless the person on the other end is rude or pushy, it's wrong to get angry or lose your temper with them, save that for the C.E.O (thanx MacGregrrrr)

This number keeps calling and I don't know who it is and I refuse to answer it. If I don't recognize the number I will not answer it. I just wish they would quit calling!!!

I'm amused that the automated voice response becomes a little more terse when you request to be added to the do not call list, as compared to the initial greeting.

They are phoning many times a day. If we all hit redial on their 1800 # repeatedly at least as many times as they call us, we can not only tie up their phones but cost them money in the process. These pests need some consequences.

they said they were calling on behalf of my bank.I called my bank,told them who and what they said...my bank security department would only say that they were aware of this company,when asked directly"do they work for my bank?"security dept said .they were not allowed to say if they do or don't.very suspicious.

You know!  I never got one nuisance called when I was on the Telus network.  Since day I switched to the Shaw telephone network, it's been round the clock telemarketers.

I just got a call from the 1 800-539-1226 phone number, and they are telemarketers, I hate it. The last time they called I asked them to withdraw my name from their list, they always say okay, but they never do it.

These idiots have called me every day for the past week.  I just don't answer it, and they better hope I never do...

Just called back 1-800-539-1226 to "add my # to their do not call lists". I think it's interesting that the whole recording involves explaining the vague reasons that they may be calling you and immediately afterward asks you if you wish to be added to their do not call list.

I guess that's why they never leave a message - I don't think they actually provide any sort of service to who they are calling!!

We clearly need to fight terrorism in all its forms. I'd like to see every employee of this company charged and deported to Syria!!!
So what's the deal with the CRTC? I thought that they were a regulatory body? They seem to be abdicating their responsibilities, but then so do the Ontario Provincial Police (who placate "native" terrorists in Cayuga). BTW they aren't "aboriginals" or "first nations" -- the six nations are refugees from New York State. Their land (the real land that was stolen) was taken by the American government. What's the connection? Those in authority aren't doing their jobs. Ordinary citizens are powerless to act to protect themselves. Being held hostage by lawless people hiding behind an eagle feather & balaclava or hiding behind the anonymity of a 800 number phone call only differs by degree.

Today is Saturday -- I have already received SIX calls from these guys today - I have answered a couple of times and not had anyone on the other end -- my hubby answered today -- they asked for me (he thinks) and when he asked who was calling they hung up.  Classy.  I receive at least half a dozen calls every day from them -- it's getting really annoying.  I thought that if these guys called you that by law their company name needs to show up on the call display.

Aghhhh!  I am getting calls from these a**holes over six times a day!  SIX!  I don't answer any of them, but they're driving me crazy!

I've been getting way too many calls from that number too. I just registered with the national do-not-call list. The end is in sight. For now... they'll probably find a way around that too.

I got a call from this number from some people claiming to work for Arrowhead Investments, a payday loan company. They called my work twice, once with a callfornia number and then another time with a florida number. THEN they called my cell phone with this 1800 number. They claimed I owed $400 for apast due payday loan. I DO NOT. I have fialed a complaint with my attorny general's office. Be carefule everyone.
