Got this call at 1:02 PM. In Cali. Ignored it.

I just called the same number you did they said that they were west corparation...

i got this call too.  the company is called West Telemarketing.  They have a local branch here in Mobile, AL and they pretty much go through about 100 employees a week.  No one wants to work for them.

Anyways, here is their number:

This was a recording telling me that I am a great customer of Visa, Mastercard or American Express and can receive great incentives - press one to speak with someone or press 2 to be taken off the call list.

Not trusting either option, I hung up.

I received a phone call from that number on my cell phone this afternoon [05/29/2009]. The call was automated and the machine identified itself as Erica and claimed to be from a debt consolidation business with no information given as to the whereabouts of the origins of the call and to press 1 to get to an operator.  I pressed 1 and got Erica (go figure).
I didn't give her any information, but I tried to ask her about any customer protection programs there are in effect to protect cellular users from solicitors. She hung up before I even finished my question.

If you receive a call from this number, I strongly suggest you avoid giving out any information, as any legitimate business shouldn't be calling a cell phone.

I tried calling the number back... This number is not in service.
If anyone gets to talk with the people behind this scam, please get as much information from the person on the other end of the line as possible without giving any of your own information and report it immediately.

I got a call from this number on May 29, 2009. They left no message. Bogus telemarketer, I guess.

Just got a call from this number 1:30p CA.  Call disconnected when I said "Hello"  Called the number and it is not in service.

I received this call on my cell phone in AZ. Looks like a credit protection selling company.

I also just received a call from this number right now @ 1:25 PM, om 5/28/09. It did not leave msg. But I don't care much or worry about it much because I never pick up any unknown or unfamiliar number.

Got this in NC, 3:44pm EST.  If it's credit card protection I think these b*****ds called last week, automated voice tries to dupe you into believing you haven't paid your credit card bill in 3mos--I don't have a credit card.

Yeah I got a call from this number at 3:48 PM. It was an automated voice trying to offer credit card interest rate reduction services. Needless to say, I hung up.

Who was it? They called me like 30 secs ago.

Called around 3:10pm (Pacific) on May 28th, 2009. Left no message.

Just got a call from this number on my cell phone in TX.  Called back 3 times, keep getting message "not a working number".   After reading this blog, figure it's a scam auto-dial company.

I answered this call on my cell and heard something about credit card interest, the menu said "press 2 to be removed from list" so i did. I don't know if that will work. i would like to know how they got my cell number.
