Down and out
There are many in the same position as you are. Hang in there and take care of yourself .and family first. What can they do to you if you can't pay?

Zombie Debt Collector who has bought a small credit card debt from my divorce 30 years ago and claims they have been adding interest and now demand that I pay them $41,000.00.

I receive calls from 800-544-0157 at least every other day. It's a recording saying I have a VERY important phone call and this is not a solicitation. The recorded voice can't even pronounce my name correctly, so I doubt seriously that this call is properly directed at me.

Absolutely. The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act States:
Section 805(a): Collection calls to consumers ( AKA Debtors )
Unless you consent or a court order permits, debt collectors may not call to collect a debt:
(1). at any time or place which is unusual or known to be inconvenient to you. 8 a.m. - 9 p.m. is presumed to be convenient...

This Penta Group Financial LLC organization's robo-caller dials me at 7:45 AM on a daily basis attempting to collect on ancient pre-historic debts for which the SOL expired a long long time ago. I haven't decided yet whether this is more pathetic than ignorant or vice versa. Are there not Federal regulations governing the time of day when these parasites can call and hang up without leaving a message?

I keep getting calls from this number. I assume they are a debt collector. I have been disabled from a disease, was on long term disability for a while at 1/3 of my income. Now I do not have that income. Trying to get social security disability. It looks promising but it is a long process. Can't drive, can't get to a job, lost my job. My creditors can't seem to understand that I do not have the means to pay anything except basic survival needs. Shelter, utilities, phone and food. No holiday presents in my house this year.
I had a great credit rating at one time. Since my illness, I am lucky to have two nickels to rub together. I've sold just about everything that is sellable on eBay. That little bit of income helped out some. I am feeling depressed and much less than worthy. I realize that these debt collectors have a job. But, if it comes down to me and my child eating and having shelter or paying creditors. Well, the choice is a no brainer...I need to survive.

Just received a call from 1-800-545-0157 today on my cell. How did they get my cell #, most likely looking up my credit report. Some creditors will pay for a report to see if you purchased a car or cell phone recently and get your # that way. Anyway, It was a debt collector (Computer automated) Lear Financial LLC.
Saved on my cell under the name lap dancers/hoes. Because they want your money and willing to do anything to get it.
