i received a msg today saying they are trying to reach me about a debt. i dont have any debts. no reference number given.

They recently did a big mailing.
Said we owed $898.50 to "Health Confirm".
My staff called to check.
Was told "Sorry, sent out in error, 8000 similar letters went out 'in error', should have been a marketing letter".

I wonder how many docs blindly sent checks?

THIS NUMBER HAS CALLED MY CELL PHONE NUMBER WHEN ASKED WHO THEY WANT THEY JUST HANG UP.. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR OVER A YEAR.. UNLESS THEY WANT TO PAY FOR A NUMBER CHANGE OR CONTINUE TO CALL I WILL FORWARD THIS OVER TO MY ATTNY.

I also am getting calls from this #, I do not owe anyone anything!!!  How do I get these calls to STOP?????

These people keep calling my place of employment. Isn't there a law against this?

Local police doesn't take care of debt collection calls.

This number keeps leaving messages on my answering system for a man I have been divorced from 18 years!  I have tried calling the number back to tell them they are barking up the wrong tree.  I can never get connected to a live body.

Not only are they calling me about a debt owed on a former employer's corporate card, they have also called and harrased the tech support staff at my new company, our receptionist, and my family.  They have threatened to take actions against me that are prohibited by the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

They are calling for a Gene Chase???? and they wont stop calling me

I receive about 4 to 5 calls aweek from this number on my cell phone always when I am at work.  I can not use my cell phone at work so it goes in my voice mail. But, they never leave a message or who is calling or what it is about.  I do not have a collection issue whatsoever. I do not know how to stop it.

These guys have been trying to collect a debt which I never had anything to do with.  They have made three statements on my credit reports saying I failed to pay bills.  I  found out that all three postings were actually the same one posted three times, making my credit into a joke.  On top of that it is for a debt that does not even exist.  I got the credit bureus to change it so it only appears once on my reports.  I have sent this company letters demanding that they validate the debt or remove it.  It has been over 6 months and still nothing has changed.  The FTC doesn't do anything.  The people at this company are morons, it is not worth trying to speak with them.  Apparently thay can just do whatever the hell they want without reprecussions.   God Bless the USA, because it is no longer and I miss it.

United Resources will not answer their phone when I return the call. I have no idea why they are calling me! They are getting on my nerves, not to mention using up my cell phone minutes. PLEASE STOP!!

Here is our local number 303-205-0152. Dial and you will get a live person from 0800-1700 (oh - do you not know military time, MST)

My concern is how to get these people to stop calling my home. These people call all day every day up until bedtime and the start again at sunrise. Stop calling my house.

Leaves an automated message with no reference to whom or what it concerns. Never has a live person to speak with when calling. Calls daily. I owe no bills so what's up with the calls?

Keep calling my phone, but they never leave a message except in spanish!!  When I call the number back it asks for a reference number or name??  Please stop calling me and if this is something to do with money I may owe you, then send it to me by mail!!  These calls are very annoying and Im ready to contact better business!!  Please stop!!

I have been bother by calls from this company for a debt I do not owe. There's someone out there with the same name who owes this debt. I've been telling attorneys as well that I am not the one there looking for.This has been going on for over 2 yrs.

Some rotor dial named Jane with a refence number called my house today for a neighbor.  Left the message on call notes.  If they call back again will take the call to local police department.

Subsection 805(c)(1) FDCPA, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act says:
(c) Ceasing Communication.  If a consumer notifies a debt collector in writing that the consumer refuses to pay a debt or that the consumer wishes the debt collector to cease further communication with the consumer, the debt collector shall not communicate further with the consumer with respect to such debt, except
(1) to advise the consumer that the debt collector's further efforts are being terminated;

If you follow the above the calls should stop.  If the calls continue, explain that they are in violation of the FDCPA and you will report them to the FTC, Federal Trade Commission, if they call again.  If they are stupid enough to call again, document the date and time of the call or calls, the name of the person calling, (they are not allowed to use fictitious names) and let them know you are hiring any attorney to file a lawsuit for violation of the FDCPA. Hope this helps.

they keep calling me about a debt.. one that i have told them that i can't afford to pay at the moment and have asked them to stop calling yet they have not done so.  I've made it clear to them the more they call the longer they will wait to get thier money.  

i asked for them to only correspond with me by mail only and they never send anyuthing just call and call and call.

Chrismas Eve, 6pm.  I didn't get to the phone in time, and found this message on my answering machine, with a matching timestamp:

"Hello.  I'm calling about important personal business.
Please call me back as soon as possible at the following number.  800-547-9054.  Again, my number is 800 547 9054.

Whoever returns this call should refer to reference number XXX-XXX.  Again, the reference number is XXX-XXX.

Thank you.  Goodbye."

I called back, to ask that they remove my number.  I entered the reference number, and pressed '2', because the name didn't match.  I wound up redirected to a full mailbox, but their system allowed me to search for another mailbox.  

I pressed '1' and hit '#', and got a name.  It also allowed me to move to the next or previous entry.  So I went through the entire directory, and listed them here:

I receive a phone call or voice message with a recording "I am calling about important business matter, please call back at 800-547-9054, who ever calls please refer to reference number xxxxxx."

I called the number back and it was United Resource Systems - a collection agency. They contract calling centers in India, and do collections for many companies.
