Add the number to your contact list, with a "z" in front of the name to drop them to the bottom. Then go to options and check the "go directly to voicemail" option. Since they won't leave a message - it essentially makes them go away!

I have had enough just like the rest of you and took matters into my own hand. I went into the DTE website and found the contact info for Home Protection Services and sent them a very strong email to stop and desist or I will file a formal complaint with the BBB and my State Senator. I promptly recieved an email reply asking for the phone number where calls are being received from DTE and an assurance that my name and number would be removed immediately.
I suggest that any of you who are tired of this harassment do the same.

Should we contact the better business bureau ?
If that won't do any good, then I will just wait till I get a hold of a person on that line and just cuss them out at the top of my lungs. Let's see if they will still want to call me after that.

Should we report this to the better buisness bureau ?
... 2012-02-05 00:40:35 Unknown
@hudini lol dude the calls are annoying but have you asked to be placed on their do not call list? Have you ever left the "please mail/call me with more info" box checked? Honestly no lawyer worth a dime will take a case if you haven't even made an attempt to contact them.
But go on with your fantasy that anyone actually cares.
lol 2012-02-05 00:31:38 Unknown
you know the reps don't give a s*** when you try and threaten them by "taking my business elsewhere". They have a job to spew info at you, and thats what they'll do.
cherylrotole 2011-06-06 20:58:03 Unknown
keeps calling all hours, never leaves a message
Bobbi 2011-06-06 20:58:03 Unknown
We get several phone calls each day from this number; however, we do not answer calls unless we know the caller or the caller/company is identified on the caller ID. There is no identification made except for the toll-free phone number. I checked the Internet for DTE's Home Protection Plan and sure enough, it is their phone number. How and where can I report this incessant calling? I read the post where someone called them back but they were not given access to anyone at DTE.

I HAVE BEEN GETTING THESE AS WELL. JUST DOING SOME RESEARCE NOW WHEN THEY RANG AGAIN. ITS AN AMERICAN COMPANY DOING MARKET RESEARCE ON BEHALF OF UK COMPANIES. THEY HAVE SPOEKEN TO ME BEFOR SON NOW WHEN I ANSWER THEY HANG UP. I LET MY WIFE ANSWER SO THEY SPOKE TO HER AND SHE PASSED THEM ONTO ME.
TELL THEM TO TAKE YOUR DETAILS OFF THERE DATABASE AND THAT IF THEY DONT YOU WILL TAKE LEGAL ACTION AGAINST THEM THROUGH OFTEL. IF THEY CALL AGAIN THEN CONTACT OFTEL OR BT TO HAVE THEM WARNED.
BRITISH COMPANIES TAKE NOTE. BRING YOUR CALL CENTRES BACK TO THE UK OR WE ONT TALK TO YOU.

I just did the same thing. Spoke to an exceptionally nice man with a easy-listing-radio voice. He promised to remove my name from all their lists...we'll see!
DJ Keller 2011-06-06 20:58:03 Unknown
Calls from this number all hours of the day and night. No one is here when answered and no message left. Very annoying, please stop!

This number is also constantly calling me. I have seen this # on other 'callers' websites' and got this suggestion. If you are a DTE customer, sign into your 'billing' acct online. Go to 'Subscriptions' and on this page you can unsubscribe to "Offers, etc by DTE". I've also called this 800 back and spoke to a body who said he'd put me on their Do Not Call list at DTE. We'll see.
Also, I found out if you are a customer of a company i.e. DTE, the National Do Not Call Registry doesn't apply. Good luck.

I just called the number back - i asked them to take my number off their list. He was very nice - took 30 seconds.
(We will see if they stop calling)

Stop calling my cellphone
Merry 2011-06-06 20:58:03 Unknown
DTE trying to sell an appliance protection call. Every day they call at least once. No message.
SOOS 2011-06-06 20:58:03 Unknown
I Started getting these calls as well, and although the DO NOT CALL list does not apply if you have a prior relationship, if you ask the company directly to put you on their do not call list, they must do so.
DCM 2011-06-06 20:58:03 Unknown
DTE call. Unsolicited.
Andy 2011-06-06 20:58:03 Unknown
Same as cherylrotole; keeps calling all hours, never leaves a message
Pam 2011-06-06 20:58:03 Unknown
Calls 2-4 times a day does not leave a message.
Bronson 2011-06-06 20:58:03 Unknown
Unwanted, on my wireless. No message.
Mike 2011-06-06 20:58:03 Unknown
Keeps calling and never leaves a message. When I finally answered the phone there was nobody on the line. They call constantly and won't stop. Found out who they were through this site. What a bunch of garbage.
thedc666 2011-06-06 20:58:03 Unknown
this is p.......me off call interruption's by this # no one there. all hour any day, Wheres the "do not call" bureaucracy? Just a big smoke screen of some sort. I shall NEVER buy anything I don't absolutely have to have from DTE
thedc666 2011-06-06 20:58:03 Unknown
Are tere any attorneys out there who would like to jump in on a class action against DTE harrassment?
Melanie 2011-06-06 20:58:03 Unknown
These calls seem to come in spurts. They call several times in a short period of time (few days) and then don't call back for months. I'm glad to find this site to know it's DTE. I, too, use DTE for natural gas so I now understand why the Do Not Call list doesn't apply. I'll just continue to ignore the calls. Caller ID is a wonderful thing!
Kely 2011-06-06 20:58:03 Unknown
I pay my bill on time every month, why do they keep calling? Has anyone spoken to anyone at this number? Are they bill collecting or soliciting?
James 2011-06-06 20:58:03 Unknown
I've asked them on two previous occasions not to call. I haven't answered the latest set, but I have been logging all the calls they've made:
9:35am 5/13/08
4:50pm 5/12/08
2:20pm 5/12/08
12:49pm 5/10/08
5:24pm 5/9/08
1:49pm 5/9/08
10:15am 5/9/08
1:27pm 5/8/08
10:16am 5/8/08
2:27pm 5/7/0
11:04am 5/7/08
3:56pm 5/6/08
12:35pm 5/6/08
5:08pm 5/2/08
9:23am 4/29/08
I sent an e-mail to their customer service, but I don't know if that will do any good.

We have received 7 calls in three days. We are ulisted (all numbers are for sale). We would like these calls to S T O P .We renew the "Do not call list" each year (six months ago), and again two months ago due to a co. who would not give up The stated we would be removed (it would take a couple of weeks-which is understandable; however this is ridiculous). Any help would be appreciated!!!!!! I work from home-annoying
captive customer 2011-06-06 20:58:03 Unknown
Since I have to buy my electricity and gas from them, I have a pree-existing commercial relationship with DTE. As such, the "do not call list" doesn't apply. Yes, it is frustrating. Bad war-dialing software design -- they should at least leave a short message.
Ashley 2011-06-06 20:58:03 Unknown
I'm so thankful I found this site because the calls just never seem to stop! I had no idea what was going on.
AK 2011-06-06 20:58:03 Unknown
Isn't there a way with the cell phone companies to block this number from getting through to your cell?
Maybe if we start calling the CEO of DTE on a regular basis he will do something about it...... Tony Earley is his name.
