My son has received 3 calls from this company. He was told that he has been approved for a grant for whatever reason he needs it. My son doesn't remember applying for any grants other than for school. I told him to call me on 3way whenever the person called him back. They called and I took all the persons info down and told him I would research and called back. He told me that my sons name would be removed from the list and he hung up. I pray that my son has learned a lesson from this call. If you qualify for a grant you shouldn't have to pay anything for it. The company should be able to provide detailed information about the grant. In this case he couldn't tell us anything other than the price for the so called secured application and that my son was approved.

I got the same call from "U.S. Financial Services." They are a real buisness group, but not from the U.S. government. That $3. 87 fee just gets you started with their trial of the software you use to access the grant information, then after 30 days you get chaged $60 and $60 every month for the MEMBERSHIP! The asian guy on the phone didn't say a thing about a membership.

SCAM! I don't have time for this.

I wish I had gotten online to search them before I gave my credit card info today.  I was given the (855) 206-1600 number and told a one time fee of $3.87 for government grant.  I will be canceling the card immediately.  Thanks for your post!

I recieve same call as everyone saying I was approved for a grant.   I did not give my card number and said I only had american express they said for me to try to obtain a visa or mc and they would call back in an hour and if I could not obtain the other cards they would take the American Express.   I did not believe any of this and the hour has given me time to look up this company to find what I expected to find.   I have a visa but they won't be getting my card #.     Would like to contact someone and three party the call to catch these pigs.

i too had the same call yday. a blocked number claiming it was a us financial resource for free government grand money. at first when they had my name number and email correct i was almost buying it, but when they gave me my wrong address it hit me so hard to know... why have my name number and email correct but my address wrong? and i asked them why do you guys call me blocked if its a government issue for financial resources,. they said it was for recording purposes. they had a some what of a indian accent, they even patched me through their supervisor and i interrogated them with alot of questions that needed to be answered to know if it was a scam.. and below is the questions asked and answered by them
but before i do that, i forgot to mention that when i was patched to the supervisor, it rung for 1 sec picked up and he started speaking. business professional companies usually state their names and would usually say before they pick up "this line maybe monitored or recorded" but it didnt... weird right?

questions i asked

me: why do you call private if this is a governmental grant for financial resources?
scam: its so it can be recorded
me: but isnt any government calls suppose to call from any 1800# and then would say its monitered or recorded?
scam: government is giving out grant money to those who were chosen by their names phone and email?
me: but why me? i just got this phone a few days ago
scam: is there anything else you need to know?
me: and how do i recieve this grant money?
scam: you would need to pay $3.87, how would you like to pay? visa mastercard, credit?
me: im broke i dont even have money i dont have a debit or credit, why dont you just take it out of the grant money that your offering me.. ill even give u 4$ to make it complete
scam: sorry sir you need to pay with credit card or debit so i can set up an account for you online at
http://www.usfinancialresources.com/

this is when i went online checked out the website and did a lil research and found out this site, id love to say thank god there is internet and a world where people send the truth thru blogs. i read them all to make sure this is or isnt a scam.
so THANK YOU ALL FOR THE GOOD INFO... let me tell you a lil more information for those to know my experience i learned from yday. gladly i didnt make no mistake ofc i like to research before giving vital info to blocked callers
'

scam: is there any questions you'd like to ask, would u like me to patch you the supervisor?
me: yes please
scam: ok.. hold on a minute
me: ok
1 second later

scam leader: hey (my name)  you have questions for me/?
me: yes... um wait who are you?
scam leader: this is james
me: james? oh ok... -____-
why is this number blocked? and why do i need to pay money to get money from the government? and where is this place located?
scam leader: this number blocked for recording purposes, u need to pay 3.87 cents to set up an account and you'll recieve an email with a confirmation number. you'll have a username and password on our website. you log in to know how much you'll recieve from 5000-50000$ grant money from the government. and we calling from utah.. and we are callin of the behalf of nj financial services to congratulate you.
me: -_________________- well that sounds to good to be true. but first of all if youre callin all the way from utah to give me grant money, y wouldnt the financial services from nj call me themselves and notify me? and how was i chosen. got my name number and email right but my address wrong? and the address you have given me an address that doesnt even exist in nj?ni also still dont understand if im receiving so much money that you still would need 3.87 when you can just deduct it from the grant money it would be so much easier.
scam leader (james) keeps repeating himself repeatedly with the same answers as listed above. and started to dodge questions.

this man has a very heavy p***/ indian accent the smelly ones with those buns on their heads type and names himself james as i recall. government calls state their real first and last name, and even though its grant money or any other government call its not suppose to be private,

so id love to say to all of you who are reading this. please dont just becareful do not let them have your name your address and email. change it bullsh!t with them and fake it all. let them have a fake info. for your safety they can probably figure a way to steal your identity. who knows so becareful everyone. and please enjoy the holidays :)

Here is a clue:
Anthony is a thief.

http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0113-government-grant-scams

"Grant scammers generally follow a script: they congratulate you on your eligibility, then ask for your checking account information so they can ?deposit your grant directly into your account,? or cover a one-time ?processing fee.? The caller may even reassure you that you can get a refund if you?re not satisfied. In fact, you?ll never see the grant they promise; they will disappear with your money.
Don?t pay any money for a ?free? government grant. If you have to pay money to claim a ?free? government grant, it isn?t really free. A real government agency won?t ask you to pay a processing fee for a grant that you have already been awarded ? or to pay for a list of grant-making institutions. The names of agencies and foundations that award grants are available for free at any public library or on the Internet. The only official access point for all federal grant-making agencies is: www.grants.gov "
