If I were you I would NOT send the death certificate. I would get more information about them first and make sure they are the real deal. I would check the Better Business Bureau and Google and anything else I could think of. Your right, the death certificate has WAY too much information on it, enough to steal you and your husband's identity.

I got a call from SIA Card Services asking for my son, who is out of the country for an extended period.  I asked for a number he could call back, but they would not give me one (don't have Caller ID) and would not tell me what it was about, or what kind of business they are, only that it was "about a credit card".

SIA Card Services called and left the number 866-752-3135.  It sounded like a boiler room operation.  Caller ID showed "Unknown"

Just received another call from this company -- SIA Card services -- I called them back and hung up after the receptionist answered.

I don't do business with them and they should stop calling.

800-560-5013.  They call constantly/at least 6 times a day, every day. Caller ID is "Toll Free Call".  If I pick up, there's never any person there, but I can hear keyboard typing and "loud room" noises like it's a call center.

Someone called and asked for my husband, I told them I was his widow  and they want to ask me about a credit card that was taken out with my late husbands name. I explained that he died last year and could not have gotten the card. They want me to mail a death certificate. I am not sure if I should send it due to all the information contained in it.(SSN, mother's maiden name,DOB) I am not sure they are legit since the caller was not very professional and they asked me for my husband SSN. I don't give that out. They told me the SSN used on the acct and it was similar not exactly right, they had the wrong mother's maiden name too. I don't think I will send it unless I black out specific info.

I have back traced this number to FIA Card Services which is a credit card processing division of Bank of America for accounts that they classify as deliquent.  I called Bank of America 800-626-2556 and got them to stop the calls.

Got a call from this number for the past two days.  No message. After goggling the numer, I called FIA back and they insist they are not solicitors but would not speak with me as they were calling for my husband.  Checked Bank of America's website and you can find them there under investment opportunities.  Called Bank of America and they insist the only reason they would be calling us it too make us aware of "SPECIAL OFFERS."  Sounds like solicitation to me.  I am 100% POSITIVE we have no bad debts, unpaid credit cards, past due ANYTHING, or any other credit issues!  They are just a pain in the neck like so many other "solicitors."

We've been getting calls from this number on our home line for several days.  Sometimes when we answer, it just disconnects; sometimes there's a message saying we should press 9 for a message for [name of person who lives here].  Today I actually answered the phone when they called, and for once it was the message instead of a disconnect.  I pressed 9 and waited, and after some Muzak and repeated exhortations that a representative would be with me Any Minute Now, the call disconnected before I ever talked to a person.  It's too bad I didn't get to talk to them, because I had a lot of choice profanity to wing their way.

This number has been coming up on my phone for about 2 weeks. There is never a message and I don't answer calls from numbers I can't identify. This is very irritating as the person will call 3 or 4 times a day.

I Was Out of the country and forgot to make my payment. When I returned I Was getting up to 10 calls a day from this "unknown" Number. They never left a voice mail. The "unknown" # was Calling me before 7am and after 7pm. When I would answer no one would be on the line. I would say hello, hello, hello for about 10sec. then hang up. They kept calling. I finally talk to someone and they said i was late on my payment. I told them I would make a payment on my account but not through them. Once I made a payment they still called me for two days I finally yelled at the last guy and they stopped calling.

They called me twice in two days. I was apparently $6 short on my last month's B of A payment, so I got a call from them instead of from B of A, which kind of pissed me off. I paid my bill (like I would normally do), and haven't heard back from them. Very frustrating dealing with them though. Also, frustrating that BofA would have them contact me after I have been with them for years without incident.

I've been getting these calls a lot lately.  I have a Wachovia CC that uses FIA Card Services, but when my wife answered the phone they said it was for a Bank of America Credit Card which i do not and have never had. I did miss a payment but was only a few days late which i had made without ever talking to them and they are still harassing me.

An 800# pops up on my ID and it's an automated message putting ME on hold until someone with a foreign accent says they are from FIA card services and asks me to verify who I am by giving him my address. (Never give out ANY information over the phone unless you made the call!) I didn't give him the address and he wanted to confirm a different way by verifying the last four numbers of my credit card. I asked him why he wanted to know, he said it was regarding my VISA card. He did give accurate information about my card (due to the auto-pay feature, my last payment was late....dang rotating cycles!)....yada yada yada...he had correct numbers but there's no way I was going to give him any information.

Even though he had the right numbers, it still seemed hokey.

They call you 10 times a day if you are a day late on a payment. It is absurd.

It's a "LAZY, STUPID" debt collector!

FIA Card Services is a company that buys bad debt to try to make a profit. They file dozens of lawsuits daily in hopes of collecting on old debt claims that have been charged off by the original creditor. The lawsuits filed by FIA are usually legally insufficient.

See:  http://www.gregartim.com/fia.htm for complete details.

They're calling me too, I think it may be a Sears card that I missed a payment on. (It was due Dec 25th) I think "Card Services" cover ALOT of smaller credit cards, so it's easy to miss the fine print.
