I received the same letter dated May 11, 2012 with 1-800-562-9007 ext 64150 as the call back number.  It has my correct bank account number but anyone could get that from a lost ATM receipt.  I called the number on the back of my ATM card and they verified that the letter was legitimate.  It is automatic payments from my checking account to my overdraft protection, even though I have never once made use of my overdraft protection.  Very poorly worded letter.  Call the number on the back of your ATM card to verify for yourself.

i got the same letter and called the capital one main service center, versus the number in the letter.  they told me the letter was legit and was about the auto payment from checking to overdraft account.  OK, it could have said that..  we discussed the poor wording of the letter...

June 4th I received a letter dated May 11, 2012 and postmarked May 31st, 2012 purportedly from Capital One Bank (my bank) at PO Box 152402, in Irving, TX 75015-2402, indicating this was "as a courtesy" and they were reminding me of a monthly auto-debit I had set-up on my checking account that would begin June 1, 2012.  Well, I have never set-up any auto-debits on my checking account and don't plan to, so will be call Capital One to find out what the heck this scam is all about.

It is surely no courtesy to me for them to be sending out completly invalid communications to me their customer.

I got the same letter.  I have many automatic debits, but never have they sent me snail mail about them, and this refers to one that does not exist nor was it debited.

I got  letter from Capital One Bank stating that I had set up automatic payments to be debited from my account. The letter had the number 800-562-9007. I haven't set up any debits, so I will call Capital one general number and check this out.!

Yes, that number really belongs to Capital One bank, according to their customer service (which I accessed by other means).

I got a letter from Capital One (return address in Irving, TX, but also giving PO addresses in New Orleans and Salt Lake City and the abovementioned 800 number). I thought it was a phishing scam, but I have confirmed with Capital One's customer service that the 800 number is indeed one of theirs and that the letter was legitimate, although confusing.

A man identifying himself as Bob Willis from Capital One Bank called my home & wanted me to return his call at 800-562-9007.  What mystifies me is that the number he was calling from was identified as 972-916-4267.  I can find nothing for either number.  I think it may be a scammer call.

Got a call from (972) 916 6326 (Irving, TX)  identifying himself as Brad from Capital One Bank and asked that I return the call at 1800 562 9007 ext 66326

David Sullivan from "Capital One" called and wanted to speak to my son that is away at college. He asked that I have him call 800-562-9007 extension 663245. My phone's caller id stated: Irving. TX. 972-916-6324. I suspect this is a sales call.

got a call from bob @ 972-916-4267 - he said he was from capital one and wanted to thank
me for my business ....he said capital one is giving $20 to their customers for having an account w/them and all i had to do was buy any 2 items and the $20 bucks will be deposited into my checking account.
