I received several voicemails on my home phone from this phone # saying important business matter about my account.  i called it after about the 5th message left.  They proceed through the call back and then ask for the last 4 digits of your social security #.  i would like to know what this is about.  What information are they phishing for?

If you have received a call from this number (which is a collection agency, called Argyle Solutions), I have the following advice based on my own experience with Argule. In my case, these actions has brough a relief from Argyle's calls for about a year; then, Argyle called again and I needed to repeat this procedure.

() You should call them back; if you do not, they will be calling you regularly until you call them.

() Once you get in touch with them, tell them that you want them to stop calling, and that they can continue their collection efforts by mail. Also, tell them that you are recording this conversation, and that you may potentially use it in "further actions" against them if they do not stop calling.

() If they try to talk with you about collecting a debt (that you owe in their opinion), do NOT try to explain that this debt is invalid or that you are not the person they are trying to reach, since they are likely ignore this information. Instead, focus on the fact that they should stop calling you and contunie their collection effort by mail.

() Their representatives are usually rude, and you should be ready for it. Try not to be upset with their lack of manners, and do not be rude in your replies.
Remember that, unlike them, you are a decent person.

I own a business and this number calls and leaves msgs to call regarding a matter that is non sales related. They do not ask for anyone specifically and do not give a contact name to call back , just the number. I do not owe any debts and especially not any medical related.

Called on my daughters phone line asking for her biological father who has been dead for 18 months, My daughter no longer has his last name, has not been in contact w/ my dead ex-husband for years. When I informed them the person they were asking about was DEAD; they were EXTREMELY RUDE & would not give me ANY info on what kind of company they were representing; I called them 3 times before getting the answer that they were an "accounts receivable" company after being spoken to in the most rude manner ever heard from a telemarketer. I'm very concerned as to how they were able to trace us????If anyone can share info please provide!!!!!

I received a similar call to above, don't owe anyone for whom I don't already have automated billing payments transferred monthly from my checking account. I can't imagine what they are calling me about. I appreciate all of the info above, but I only received one call, so I am not calling them back. They may have dialed wrong. I will wait and see. Most calls I get unsolicited are for extended car warranties. They never quit!

I missed a call from this number, so I did a reverse number lookup. It is Argyle Solutions, but their website is disabled. They can keep calling...and never reach me. Judging from the comments, they are not people I want to talk to. Here's what I did find from Businessweek:

"ARGYLE Solutions, Inc. provides healthcare revenue cycle management services. The company offers first and third party, legal network, physician and clinic, and portfolio purchase services. Additionally, its services include early out services, bad debt purchasing, active receivables management, and outstanding debt recovery programs. The company also offers bad debt collection services to healthcare clients. ARGYLE Solutions, Inc. was founded in 2003 and is headquartered in Irving, Texas. As of August 18, 2008, ARGYLE Solutions, Inc. operates as a subsidiary of GSI Securitization, Inc."

I believe Argyle Solutions has gone out of business, per the phone company (April 2009).  Their phone number is NO longer 972-410-4200 and fax 972-410-4201.  Unfortunately, we were issued their phone/fax numbers and still get a lot of calls for Argyle Solutions.  PLEASE, DO NOT call 972-410-4200 or fax 972-410-4201 for this company.  Thank you.

Oh right, and in this economy everyone just has so much money that they can pay everything as soon as it comes.  Some people have to make a decision about whether they are going to pay their rent or buy food.  Ideally you are correct that people wouldn buy things they dont need, or have debt that they cant handle.  But realistically most people do the things they do just to survive.  And in the case of argyle solutions, its about life and death in many cases as they collect for medical bills.  Most people I know cant afford 2000 dollar deductibles.  Thats right I said 2 thousand because that is what mine is.  I cant budget for an injury or an illness because i live paycheck to paycheck.  So get off your high horse and live in the real world for awhile.

And Kim lay off the caps its like you are yelling at people.  Also in Texas they have so of the most debtor friendly policies ever created.  And most people who are getting calls from collections agencies know their credit is in the crapper so a threat about their credit really isnt going to do any good.

Actually there is alot you can do even if you do owe the debt.  Just because a person owes a debt doesnt mean they have to be harrassed and abused by a collections agency.  The FDCPA is also very clear on that.  If you need to know what it says go here ww.ftc.gov/os/statutes/fdcpa/fdcpact.htm  And once again just because you do owe doesnt mean they have a right to harrass you.  And they could get into trouble for doing so.

I've received a couple of calls from this number.  I work for the federal government and this was a newly assigned cell phone, so I was reasonably sure I wasn't being looked for.

I did return the call and the voice recording asked me to verify my phone and last 4 of my SSN.  I did verify the phone (I used the number they called) but not the SSN.  After the recording asked a couple of times, it put me in the queue for a representative.

The representative was very polite.  She did not ask for my name, but she did ask for the phone number that was called which I provided.  Then she asked to speak to a specifically named individual whom I didn't know.  I stated such and she said she would remove me from the calling list.  She was quite polite the entire time.

I get calls from this number all the but they are on my block list so the calls go directly to voice mail. For the most part they hang up and do not leave a message. I use to take their call just to mess. I know my legal rights under the Fair Debt Collection Act so when they try to bully and let them know they are breaking the law and will be reported to the State AG's office and they then hang up. It is fun to mess with A-holes. Haha

Same thing as everyone else..get vm's on my cell phone almost every day. Same recorded msg...today, I actually ans'd as I was by the phone, rude woman, rude suprv', want to verbally play tough guys. It may be a legit bill that my elderly father in fact owe, but I'm the only one who handles his business and they won't even give a hint as to whom it's from. Stat'g, they need to get his ok for me to talk...at his age of passed 90 yrs, I'm not going to inconvenience or rattle my dad's concern for some'g that may/may not be correct, nor am I going to fax a power of atty, with very personal info' to complete strangers who are rude and obnoxious. Even utility co's who are more legit than these jerks can hear you out and make a provision to speak with you and get their matter resolved.

i don't have any outstanding debts, yet i get a call from them once a week.  further, by no means should any semi-intelligent person be answering personal questions without first being told what the issue is regarding.  obviously you don't fit into that category.

Best of luck in getting this nonsense resolved.

It shouldn't be quite so difficult to prove that you are not who they're calling for.

So you work for them? And you're here being rude to people that are being called in error?

Yes, if you owe a bill then it needs to be paid.

However, many people are being called in error by a collections officer looking for someone completely unrelated to the victim. Stop being a putz and lay off the caps lock. open your eyes to the real problem here, which is that the company is calling the wrong people and harassing them.

Have had calls almost daily for 2 weeks asking for someone i've never heard of. I've not been in a hospital since I was born, so I don't understand why they would call me. I asked them to stop and I am still receiving calls. I want to call back to see if I can get it resolved by speaking to someone higher up in the company. I do not appreciate the calls while I'm in classes.

no reason for caps lock, bb.
unfortunately, i've gotten calls from them asking about a girl whom i've never heard of. But she's got a VERY unique name that sounds ethnic. I'm about as plain jane white bread as it comes, and though i've got a common name, it's nowhere close to that. I've asked them to stop and it still happens. From what i've seen, the company and it's employees are very rude. Hopefully this will get resolved happily for all parties involved.

The issue with this company is not so much that they are debt collectors - it is that they are exceptionally rude and abusive EVEN WHEN THEY ARE CALLING IN ERROR.  Hospital debts take time to go over to collections and in that time, people may have moved.  Unfortunately, my phone number seems to be one that some dead-beat used to have.  As a result, I constantly get calls from agencies looking for the last person who had this number.  When they have the wrong number, it is a fair expectation that they should be reasonable and professional (and remove your number from their file).  However, there is at least one person (and apparently more) at Argyle who is unable or unwilling to behave in this manner.
