I was just charged $500 and $1500 dollars from ROGERSWL 1time on my capitalone card, which puts my account at a negative balance (great for my credit rating). Capitalone said they can't do anything about it until the transaction 'posts' and I called the number associated with it, which was Rogers, and they have never heard of these fraud charges. If so many other people have experienced it, how can Rogers be so unaware?

I had the same problem. I went into a Fido cell phone store to pay a small amount of money toward my outstanding account balance. Instead of applying that amount toward my bill, after I left the store, someone phoned Fido with my brand NEW card details and authorized a payment of 4 times that amount. It shows up on my bank statement ? and in Fido?s records ? as RogersSWL 1Time. The amount was the exact full remaining balance of my account. (Fido has been recently bought out by Rogers). I have initiated an fraud investigation with my bank and Fido.

I just saw the same thing but realized that it is my Fido bill. It has the exact date and amount that I payed for my fido account which is now zero meaning that what I payed was actually received! Although I payed with visa and on my bill it shows  preauthorized debit !

I got a call from the Rogers fraud department indicating that someone had put through three charges of $99.99 each on September 15th.  Interestingly enough, I called Rogers the same day regarding an issue with my phone bill.  It seems that the Rogers CSR used my account information to his advantage by placing charges against my credit card, knowing my account was a business account.  I complained to Rogers Customer Care and the Office of the President.  The credit card in question has been cancelled, which is a major headache in itself.  Rogers is investigating, as they have told others.  When asked if they would reverse charges, they only replied "only if the charges are deemed fraudalent".  Their fraud department deemed the charges fraudalent already as they were made in Quebec (and I'm on the other side of Canada), so I don't understand why all the notes on my account weren't communicated to other team members.  They also denied the charges were placed on September 15th, which is what my credit card statement shows (transaction and posting date are the same) -- even though someone from their fraud department already confirmed this.  Now I have to wait for them to send me an affadavit to sign and send back (both from Rogers and the credit card company).

Just noticed 3 charges on my master card account from this number.  charges for 16.61, 107.32 and 296.50.  Hopefully disputing will get them cancelled.

You're lucky.  My son's credit card was charged $700.00 by this company and we are definitely disputing the charges.

I just got charged $1211 Aust Dollars on my credit card from this mob.  Showed up on statement as "RogersSWL 1TIME 800-565-6009 CA".  Immediately reported it to my bank who have cancelled my account and issued new card.  They are now looking into the matter.  Have no idea how they got my details

I too just had my credit card scammed for $399. The 800-565-6009 is a phone number to Rogers Cellular, a legit phone number and company whos head office is in Ontario, Canada. The number listed before this toll free number is SUPPOSED to be the account number the charge was put through on. These accounts, according to Rogers Cellular, are fraudulent accounts and do not exist. When I called they said they've closed that account now that they were made aware that it did not exist. They are investigating, so they say, and I had to cancel card and hope that my credit card company will reverse the charges. Rogers Cellular phone rep told me I should also contact my local police department for more help.
They say my card was compromised, yet I rarely use it and when I do I'm very aware of my surroundings. I don't think Rogers asked for my CVR code on the back of the card when these charges were applied because I don't how anyone could have obtained it. Personaly, I think Rogers Cellular is more responsible for this than they will admit yet now I have to wait 60-90 days for MY credit card company to hopefully fix. I don't even have my cell phone with Rogers.....and of course never will now!

I did not receive a call from this number, only 3 fraudulent charges on my debit card.  Did some other research and found quite a few other people experiencing this same situation.  It is a wireless company from Canada, and I had three hits of just under $50 each on my account.  I am in the middle of disputing these charges at this time.  WATCH YOUR ACCOUNTS!!!!!!

Got charged on my Amex 146.59 by that fraud company. I cancel the card. I encourage others to do the same.

My February statement just came in with a number of charges from ROGERSWL IN Canada.
I cancelled my card.

Interestingly, there was $1,300  in Airline charges for 3 Russian named people trasveling between vancouver BC to Calgary Canada on Air canada on my AMEX card.  Plus a lagy traveling  on Westjet from Toronto to Calgary.

I have great praise for Amex for intercepting some earlier ROGERSWL false charges.

FYI, I am forwarding all the names and ticket numbers to the appropriate ailines for their faulty screening.  I am contacting an attorney also to see if I can sue those two airlines.

Hi , checked my amex statement and found this charge of $ 90.00 -ROGERSWL 1TIME 800-565-6009 -So i call this number attached and it says the number is discontinued to call another number which was mentioned on the voice messenger which is rogers. I speak to them they said this, Oh can be a store named Rogers you purchased something at !!!  What a joke they are and dumb how people are !!!Anyhow i call Amex and they said they will investigate will take 6 weeks.

A debit of $23.65 just showed up on my Visa today....  I called Rogers..  They were useless.     I called Visa and they are 'looking in to it'.     After reading about all the scam charges, I guess I'll have to cancel my card :(

was just checking my amex statement and found this charge: ROGERSWL 1TIME 800-565-6009 $156.34
so i called amex and cancelled my card and they said to go through all my statements to make sure there wasn't more and call them back. i found 2 more charges from same number..one for $80.00 and one for $100.00, all within the last 3 months. they are well aware of this scam and will be removing the charges..i will not be using credit cards anymore..people are a***oles.

I just got hit with it today. The charges are pending so I can't do the fraud claim yet but Navy Federal did cancel my card and theyre sending a new one, just gotta wait till the charge has been posted to start a claim :-/ I got hit for:

earlier in the day.
Navy Fed always fights these frauds pretty good, so I hope that since they hit a U.S. military/federal bank that they actually look into solving this for the rest of us because this is b***s***.

You're right Jean - We stayed at a "high end" hotel in Toronto on July 17th and paid with credit card.  That's the 1st time we used the card in months.  Just got our bill yesterday and they scammed us for $1900

Wind Mobile - 877-459-4168 6 charges of just under $100 each
and West Coast Green Currency for $845.00 US - converted to Canadian = $906
I googled West Coast Greenery's number and it comes back as Healthy Home Plans in San Francisco

They had to have taken our cc number from the hotel and made up a card - I don't know how you can get cash without one.

Nonetheless, our CC has reversed the charges.

Yup 1 charge on my visa for 300.00........just cleared. Im travelling so can't afford to cancel my card now but what they ****&&&& this is bogus.  sane 1800 number. and an acct number that looks legit but not mine.

Today is July 27, 2010 in Canada. My Amex got a charge from that RogersWL1Time 800-565-6009 on June 30, 2010. I had a transaction done on Expedia.ca a couple of weeks before, Hilton a week before  and Paypal the day before the posting of their transaction using the same credit card. So I am speculating that might be how they get hold of the credit card number. I have canceled the card to avoid future charges and fraud. Other people may consider doing the same.
