ICT Group is a boiler room telemarketing agency that sell scams from the USA using call centers worldwide because it's too expensive to pay north americans to flog crap over a phone.

If you are on the DNC list it does not matter anymore.  Your government does not care a wit about what you want.

It never did.

You pay government fools to do nothing all day.
Lie to your face.
Rob you  blind with taxes
Print money to the point a loaf of bread is 4 bucks.
They take your peace of mind and privacy away.

All so the governments of the world can flog some piece of crap timeshare from a Hong Kong call center.

I have been called persistently by this number for 2 weeks now. Several times a day.  When picked up, no one on the other end (immediate disconnect).  When I call the number "after hours" you can't do anything.  When you call "during" hours, you have the option to remove your number from their dialing list.  You do not have an option to talk to anyone.  You do not get any additional information which you may be able to take to police.  They call after their own hours and pretty much whenever.  Because you cannot actually talk to anyone, I suspect they are using this 1800 number to collect phone numbers for who knows what purpose.  They are not trying to sell anything otherwise you would actually be able to talk to someone.  This is a very suspicious number.  Well worth going to the police about this one.

well i been getting this call since really long time and it is getting on my nerves, when they call just tell them that you have an appointment with the bank and you will discuss about your account with them directly, but please do not give any information about you...not even your name i would say...be extra careful with those scam companies they says that they are talking on the behalf of RBC but my bank said that if anyone from Rbc calls us the ID name will be "RBC" and the number will be with your local area code or 1888 depends in te area you live in.

P.S : the only reason the bank calls is to confirm an appointment or to confirm any new service that you have taken like retirement plan, loans estimations, etc.

They call a few times a day. I called the number and got a recording that explains who they are, and then at the end there's an option to add your number to the do not call list. They said it takes 72 hours for this to happen. We'll see...Has anyone else tried this? Did it work?

To add to this, it is illegal for companies to call you (solicited or not) after 9PM. The company I worked for would try to call people back if they got disconnected but could not do so after 9PM even if the customer requested it. The calls were always originally from the customers in this case as well.

If you have been removing yourself from their list and still continue to receive calls, I'm sure they can be reported as well as if they call after 9. This certainly works in the States but I don't know the number off hand.

Again, try and block the number, but you can also report it if you have been getting harassed after hours and have removed your number from their list.

I have been receiving calls from this number for several weeks with only 3-4 a week at most, but today they phoned for the first time on a Saturday morning! I have never answered the phone as I haven't been here and they do not leave messages. A call back does confirm the ICT Group.

After a little research into the company, they are a call center with locations based in the Phillipines and elsewhere but there head office is in Pennsylvania. Here's there address and a head office phone number:

ICT World Headquarters
100 Brandywine Boulevard
Newtown, Pennsylvania 18940 USA
800-201-1085

While many call centers deal with clients who actually want to service their customers or provide a legitimate service to new customers, they are usually reliant upon inbound calls to do so. Some companies will take on programs less scrupulous than others so while they may be calling on behalf of their actual clients (CitiBank, RBC, Master Card, etc), they are calling unsolicited. Many of the companies you contact would not have a record of the number used as it is not a customer support line but a telemarketer on their behalf.

There is very little way to prove if this is on the level or not, but the easiest thing to do is block the number. If you want to hit them back for calling you number unsolicited (so many times and without leaving messages or not speaking), call the head office number to complain. It isn't as good as sending back the pre-paid postage envelopes, but has some effect if people continue to do so.

In the end, if you still feel slighted and want further action, don't buy products from the companies they are calling on behalf of! You can't prove it's actually a scam or not but word spreads and that hurts business if done on a large enough scale.

I can't tell how many calls I got from this number in the last 3 weeks...
They call at any hour of the day until 9:00PM. When I answer there is only silence and then the connection is dead. I answered once and the caller said he was calling on behalf of CitiBank to offer me protection on my credit card...I don't even deal with CitiBank!!!
Try this: answer and leave the line open or answer and hang up right away.

Tips for Handling Telemarketers

Three Little Words That Work !!

(1)The three little words are: 'Hold On, Please...'

Saying this, while putting down your phone and walking off (instead of hanging-up immediately) would make each telemarketing call so much more time-consuming that boiler room sales would grind to a halt.

Then when you eventually hear the phone company's 'beep-beep-beep' tone, you know it's time to go back and hang up your handset, which has efficiently completed its task.

These three little words will help eliminate telephone soliciting.

(2) Do you ever get those annoying phone calls with no one on the other end?

This is a telemarketing technique where a machine makes phone calls and records the time of day when a person answers the p hone.

This technique is used to determine the best time of day for a 'real' sales person to call back and get someone at home.

What you can do after answering, if y ou notice there is no one there, is to immediately start hitting your # button on the phone, 6 or 7 times, as quickly as possible This confuses the machine that dialed the call and it kicks your number out of their system. Gosh, what a shame not to have your name in their system any longer !!!

(3) Junk Mail Help:

When you get 'ads' enclosed with your phone or utility bill, return these 'ads' with your payment. Let the sending companies throw their own junk mail away.

When you get those 'pre-approved' letters in the mail for everything from credit cards to 2nd mortgages and similar type junk, do not throw away the return envelope.

Most of these come with postage-paid return envelopes, right? It costs them more than the regular 41 cents postage 'IF' and when they receive them back.

It costs them nothing if you throw them away! The postage was 39 cents before the last increase and it is according to the weight. In that case, why not get r id of some of your other junk mail and put it in these cool little, postage-paid return envelopes.

One of Andy Rooney's (60 minutes) ideas.
Send an ad for your local chimney cleaner to American Express. Send a pizza coupon to Citibank. If you didn't get anything else that day, then just send them their blank application back!
If you want to remain anonymous, jus t make sure your name isn't on anything you send them.

You can even send the envelope back empty if you want to just to keep them guessing! It still costs them 41 cents.

The banks and credit card companies are currently getting a lot of their own junk back in the mail, but folks, we need to OVERWHELM them. Let's let them know what it's like to get lots of junk mail, and best of all they're paying for it...Twice!

Let's help keep our postal service busy since they are say ing that e-mail is cutting into their business profits, and that's why they need to increase postage costs again. You get the idea!

If enough people follow these tips, it will work ---- I have been doing this for years, and I get very little junk mail anymore.

I have read quite a few posts about adding one's name to the "do not call list" on the offending caller's return number option.  I am extremely skeptical about doing this....I have not heard if this really works, or if doing this just adds you to a "confirmation list".  I did see one post somewhere where a person ended up getting 10X more calls afterwards.  Kind of like responding to the "click here if you want to be removed from our spam list" in a spam email.

Does anyone have any positive experience with having placed their number with ICT's do not call list?

I have been receiving between 8-9 calls/day, and when I do answer (hoping to tell someone to leave us alone!) there is only dead air, and then a disconnect, never a person to talk to. If something is so important they have to call 45 times in 5 days, why the hell isn't there someone at the other end when you DO pick up?!!!!

I had been getting phone calls on my cell from this number probably 3 times a day for the past 3 weeks. At first I just ignored them, but these guys are relentless! Finally I called my cell phone provider and told them that I was getting unwanted telemarketer calls from this number and they said that they will get my number removed from their list. Only time will tell if this works...

I have received 11 calls from this number...so far. Whoops - just got another one and it's 8:45 pm. From the hundreds of comments online, I gather that this so-called firm is (mis)respresenting themselves as agents for many different financial institutions - I've seen Mastercard, CIBC, Bay/Zellers, RBC. I suspect this is a telephone scam designed to collect personal information.  Lik they said in the X-files: "Trust No One", people.

Just got a call after 11:00am on Saturday, machine picked it up no message was left. Called back to have my number taken off. Got a recorded message that their hours are from Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 8:00pm. This is Saturday, not within their hours. Very upset they are calling me outside of their own working hours.
