LOL.  No surprise.  Collection manager can not handle her finances but thinks everybody else should always pay on time.  I wonder if she avoids her own collection calls?  I bet she says those are wrong!

I imagine that you all agreed in your contracts to make payments on the due date.  Shouldn't you all do that?  Then you would not receive calls or letters.  Seems like the solution is in your hands.  Pay on time as promised.

My story is similar to all the posts. My loan originally started with another finance company call Marquette. They sold it to First Investors several years ago and I've had nothing but problems with First Investors every since!! It doesn't matter how soon I make my payments or how I make my payments - they send letters and I get the non stop harassing phone calls! If I mail the check early in advance, they seem to hold it until after the due date. If I do it by phone, I get phone calls starting the same day! I thought about mailing the payments certified with signature required several days prior to the due date until I read these posts and saw that some of you even have it taken out direct deposit before the due date and it still happens! I think they are trying to find reasons to repo my car because I'm close to paying it off. Makes me sick!

This call is from 1st Investors.  They call me constantly.  My bank sold my auto loan to them after 3 years - I only have about 6 months left thank god.

They're rude and complain that I have not paid my bill even tho it's automatically deducted from my account to them 2 weeks prior to it being due because of my employers payment schedule & my mortgage.  One a**hole even tried to tell me that if I didn't authorize another month's payment that they would repossess my car that following Monday (this was late late saturday...after 9:00!)

I told him fine - come and get it that way I could sue to get a new car.  They never showed.

Thankfully I've got 6 months left with them.  Thank God I've got caller ID - this place causes my blood pressure to rise.  The first time they called and told me they were going to repossess my car - I had a panic attack while at work and was rushed to the ER - thanks 1st Investors!

I get a call from this number about 4-5 times a day.  They never leave a message ( I never answer calls from numbers I do not recognize).  After reading the first post, I realize I did get a letter from my bank stating that they sold my auto loan as well.  I have about 2 years left of this crap.  This is a pain.  By the way, I mapped the phone number and it says the phone number is registered in Africa.  I thought this was one of those scams like the ones I get emailed about depositing somebody's check etc....

I, like many of you have received numerous calls from this number multiple times a day.
This company as a whole is nothing but incompetent, poor servicing idiots.  The reps are idiots and when trying to resolve previous issues with this company I was met by nothing but the run-around and was left dealing with incompetent people.

It's frustrating because even when my account is in good standing they continued to call and inquire about payments long before and after they are due.

Terrible company, poor service, and incompetent employees.

Actually I posted the comment about asking them to remove my #, and while they seemed agreeable, they were back to calling me within a day.  I called a total of 4 times until finally one operator told me that the individual operators have no access to the database to remove #s because it is automated.  I was so frustrated with getting 5-6 phone calls per day to our FAX line and I've never had business with them.  In fact, the # they were dialing, they had listed as a "Goeffrey  so-and-so".  Anyway, I finally filed a complaint with BBB of Atlanta via their website (You can google it), and they actually resolved it for me.  Amazing that they could get it done and I couldn't!  So that's what I'd suggest.

This call was from 1st Investors (at least they say they are). I received a call from them twice and answered the 2nd call. He said i was 17 days late on my August car payment and wanted me to make a payment immediately. This was already WEIRD because my payment wasn't due until 8/23/09 (at 4:20 :-P"   and it was only 8/20/09 (not at 4:20 :-(  when i received the call. He was even willing to post date the check for my financial convenience. I lied to him and said i didn't know my routing number and asked if "I" could call him back but he kept insisting on calling me back and wanted me to give him a time. I gave him a time but i'm not answering. I pay it via 'online bill pay' anyway.

REMEMBER: If a person calls you and starts wanting bank information. Make sure they are not trying to gain your confidence just because they can tell you information that you can already find on the bill that you forgot to shredded.

I just filed a complaint with the Texas Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division.  I am one of the "references" that is continually harrassed.  When I lost my temper with these people, they insisted that I must treat them with respect before they would take me off their file.  I was lectured about not raising my voice and I finally was so disgusted that I told them either do it or I would call the TXAG.  The woman told me that I should "just do what I needed to do," as if I would not pursue what I was saying.  She told me that the call was recorded apparently thinking that because I was emotional that somehow that entitled her to talk to me as if I were a child.  She did not try to reduce my frustration, but only seemed to feed on it.  I finally hung up and filed a complaint online.  I recommend anyone to pursue the complaint process of your state's AG's consumer complaint division.  I have been called and called and any time they want.  This has to stop.  I don't owe anyone any money, but I am being harrassed beyond belief.

My complaint is that they obviously receive the checks and SIT on them.  It takes 10 days to post. I mail 5-6 days before the due date.  I live in Southern California, and this month I mailed my payment from Cincinati, and my house payment to LA on a Friday.  The house payment posted on Tuesday.  As of Thursday, so far no posting - Cincinnati to Atlanta.  They also don't put the past due amounts on the bills so you haven't a clue how many you are accumulating.  I also have had them "lose" 3 payments.  Can't wait to trade the car in and get rid of them.

We purchased our truck a little over a month ago and were financed through FIFSG. I had never heard of them. Our first payment was due Saturday, August 28th, 2010. I sent our payment via USPS Certified Mail with Signature confirmation return receipt on Monday, August 23rd. I received an email yesterday from the USPS with a copy of the Certified Mail receipt with the signature and name of the person who signed for it on Saturday, August 28th at 02:58AM in Atlanta, GA.

I started getting phone calls on Sunday morning and the left several messages, but when I tried to call the number back it said that they were closed. Today, at 7:25AM CST I started getting the phone calls. I answered the 3rd on at 8:32am and the guy on the other end starting yelling at me about my truck payment being 2 days late and that I needed to make a payment immediately or my truck would be repossessed. I informed him that I had a confirmation of the payment being received. He repeatedly asked how i sent it and what address did I send it to? I told him the address on the statement and he said you cant send them there, WTF? Then where the +++* do you send them??? He continued to say  and that they did not have it and that i needed to make a payment now. I told him obviously he doesn't know what he was talking about and then he started yelling at me again. Said that I would be repo'd etc. I told him that he was harassing me, my loan documents clearly state that I have a 10 day grace period and that it is illegal to call before 8am, on Sundays, and to threaten repossession or any legal action that is not in process. I told him to take my number off the list and that I do not want any phone calls, there will be no contact via phone to any of my references, work or my spouse. He said that he would continue to call and would begin calling my husbands work. I hung up.

I then found the US phone number and contacted them and talked to a very nice lady in Atlanta who said that they had indeed received the payment, it had not been put into the system, but was signed for. She said that they are not supposed to be calling from the "Collections" department until 30 days past due and that they get a lot of complaints about them. She told me to fax or mail a "cease and desist" letter to:

I got a couple calls from this number today, I looked it up, and Google brought me here. I had tried to make a payment once this week, and I guess I forgot to click the extra submit button. As of today the payment happened to be 5 days late... I went online, and made the payment then called First Investors directly at 1-800-249-6305. The guy I spoke to (a person in the USA!!!) was really nice, and I just nicely told him what happened. I also told him I thought it was a bit ridiculous because I always pay more than I'm supposed to, I make my payment every month, and this wasn't even 10 days late. He made a couple notes on my account and told me to either send them a Cease & Desist letter or an email (customer.service@fifsg.com) with that subject heading and they would permanently take my name off the list for that company. He said they get A LOT of complaints about that company. So, I'll be sending my email shortly. =) Here is the information he told me to include in it, in case any of you want to do the same:

Name
Acct Number
Contact Phone Number

And to put it attention Customer Service Manager.

I don't think FIFSG are really the bad guys here. Every time I've had an issue they're been more than helpful and polite. I think it's the collection agency that has the problems. I hope the rest of you can start having a pleasant experience with them!!! =)

We have our car financed through First Invstors, never again.  I used to mail my payments to them but because we are very rural it could take anywhere from 7 - 21 days for them to get.  They called me threatening to repossess our car if we did not make a payment over the phone, which I refused to do.  At the time they charged $25 for a phone payment and online payments were not availale as an option.  I told them they had to wait for the check to make it to them.  When the call, it is always from a number with no name avaiable, which I refuse to answer these.  If you cannot provide me with your information when you call me then you will not get anyone in my household to answer.  My payments are due on the 9th of each month, and last night, the evening of the 9th, I actually received my first call from them this month I am sure telling me my payment is late.  Their collection department is very condisending an rude and not willing to work with you at all.  I will never finance through them again.  They are a terrible company and need to obtain some phone representatives from the US that can speak English so that atleast when they are belittling you, you can understand them.

these people are relentless in their efforts to collect a debt. EVEN IF IT'S THE WRONG NUMBER THEY'RE  CALLING! they call DAY AND NIGHT! EVERYDAY INCLUDING SUNDAYS!!! I've told these people several times, not to call my number, to take my number out of their system that the person they're looking for is not at this number. to no avail, they continue to call. i've reported the number to the do not call registry.

First Investors has a financial system that sucks. My first car payment was due on the 10th. Mailed it on the 1st. On the 11th, the phone calls started. Usually 3 or 4 a day. On the 19th, they suggested I put a stop payment on the check and do on over the phone (an additional $30 o do a phone payment!). I did the stop payment, but not the phone payment. The next day the check hits my bank, and FIFS wanted to charge me an NSF ! Now everytime I ame a payment, I know its going to take at least 12 days for it to make it into their system... and the calls begin the day after its due. So I've just started messing with thm on the phone when they call... might as well have some fun with it...
