This is from the Law Office of Mitchell N. Kay which is a debt collection agency. They've kept calling over and over leaving an automated message asking for me saying if this isn't me then hang up.  Then they go on to say this is a debt collection call and to call them back.MITCHELL N KAY

I received exact same recording in my answering merchine.
What should i do?

We keep getting this "data" message on our cell phone.  We finally called to let them know and to inform them to stop calling our number.  They asked us for our SSNs to "verify our account."  Of course, we informed them that we don't give out our info to anyone!  We have no debts for them to have called us about to begin with!  BEWARE!!

yep.  it's an automated call saying they want Roxanne Lixford or Lipford and if it's not her to hang up.  So I did.  It's my cell phone so I entered it on speed dial as DNA (Do not Answer)and changed the ring to silent so I never have to bother with it. For each additional "pest" that calls I enter it as DNA2 DNA3 etc. and put them on silent ringer.  Fortunately, I don't get that many "pests"

Yup, Automated and one time a person and they asked for a guy that didnt live here and they even went as far as to ask "Do you know him?"  lol

They call me all the time looking for my brother-in-law. I despise these automated phone messages. When I call the number to tell them they are contacting the wrong person, I never get to talk to an actual person!! My brother-in-law probably does owe a debt, but that doesn't mean they should harass me.What can we do??

They called our number looking for my husband's ex wife last month.  I politely informed them that she did not live at this address or number and never has.  (The phone number is only 6 months old.)  They told me they would take this number out of her file.  

We got another fall from them TODAY.  This time, they were looking for my husband's EX Step-son!  I was a little more hateful with them and asked for a supervisor.  The gentleman I spoke to refused to put anyone else on the phone, so I told him that if we got any more calls from them looking for people who have never been associated with this number then we would pursue legal action of our own.

Thank you for letting me know that this is a debt collector i thought it was an actual attorneys office.Yes i have debt but that does not mean they should continue to harass me what do i do???????????

They keep calling asking for someone who does not live here. When I click the number when prompted if this is not the person they are looking for I get, please hold for a representative...I am NOT wasting MY time to be out on hold again. I hate calls like this! Let me talk to a PERSON. Have a PERSON call, not a dang machine! UGH!

Very persistent calls and voice mail for "Taylor Lee" on my company issued business cell phone.  Automated message asking me to continue to listen if I am "Taylor Lee" and to otherwise hang up.  Calls are coming once and twice a day, interrupting my work.  Apparently no way to stop the onslaught of calls.

I just received phone call from (800)573-3387. Rep. was looking for a person name Walter, and before I explain that I just bought cell phone with this number, after telling him that I am not him, he hung up on me.
I contacted back to explain the situation and other Rep. became very angry with me and not to call him back, using profanity. After I Googled the number, I realized that it was the same law firm called 'Law Office of Mitchell N. Kay, P.C.' Now I live in PA and according to this WEB site they have a judgment against them in PA, I wonder if they are ever going to call me again.

file a complaint at the FTC.gov website, they have called me about a person that does not live at my house and never had.

Oddly enough these guys have been one of the better collection law firms I've dealt with.  After two mis-starts - first operator hung up on me, the second operator couldn't speak all that well.

The debt they called about was mine, old, and paid off.  I spoke with Mr. Siegel, whose phone number is mentioned on the first post.  He was very polite and seemed concerned.  I emailed him a copy of the pay-off letter and he said that he closed the account on his end.  I still plan on sending an official dispute letter just to dot my I's and cross my T's.

This agency has called me twice so far in this current 2008 year. The both time they called they were asking to speak with different person that had my same last name but different first names as is always the case. Both times I immediately returned their calls and had no problems getting my number removed. For the most part most if not all agencies that I've had to contact to remove ny number have complied. The problem is that it seems that for every two collection companies who remove my number from their database ten other companies have already added my number to their databases and start calling me! It is so hard to understand how is it that every single caller from an agency calls looking for someone with my last name but always a different first name? Why would someone be using just a last name and not a first name too? Why is it that there is not ONE central database to remove one phone number from instead of constantly getting these annoying calls? This has gotten so out of control it is time that our government steps in and do something about this!1 I have for years been on the no call list for federal , state and all other ones out there and still get these calls. I've changed my number and done just about all I can do. Someone has to shoot these people once and for all!!
They are not nice at all when being asked to remove you from their lists , although they say they will remove you.
Good thing for he web so that we can all search for all details on all these stupid agencies.  Look, I'll be honest here. These agencies have a job to do. And that is to go after all those lazy f**** out there that don't want to pay their debts and don't give a f*** about their balances and so on. But the truth is I don't owe anyone any money at all period. And this is what f****ng annoys me! Please stop calling people who don't owe anyone money. Do go after those people who owe money and refuse to take responsibility for their debt!!!

Called me the evening of November 17, 2008 looking for someone who doesn't live at my number.  I did the usual asking to be removed from the call list and got some cocky, smart mouth j*****o on the line.

I get calls from this number every single day.  I picked up once and, after hearing what they had to say, told them that the person is no longer at this number and to please remove me from the list.  They persisted to ask me questions regarding the person's debt and personal information. Again, I responded telling them that I have no idea who this person is and the person they are looking for is no longer at this number.

I'm not the person they are looking for, they call me every single day, they won't take my number off their list...don't know what to do.  All I can say is that if someone ever owes me money I'm going to call this company.  THEY ARE RIDICULOUS!!!

The call was made around 7:30pm and claimed to be from the law office of Mitchell N Kay. They left the number 1-800-573-3387 and a reference number 71035169.

My story is the same as many.  They are looking for Victoria somebody.  This is my cell phone and I'm the only person who has EVER had the phone number (I got it right after the new area code was added years back), so I know they just picked the number out of a hat.  I get at least five calls a week, often from different phone numbers.  They have assured me they're taking my number off the list.  Today, the guy who answered my call threatened me.  He also asked for my SSN and last name, neither of which I would give him.

Normally, I'd just ignore the calls, but I have pre-paid cell service and I have to pay for each and every message they leave me.  It's not much, but I have no interest in paying for fraudulent/harrassing/incorrect calls.

I got a call from this number...I told them I was just getting arrested and it wasnt a good time right now...have fun with them...tell them you just swallowed a bug or something...they will get a good laugh.

A collection agency keeps harassing me about a debt I don't believe I owe.  What can I do?  Send them a certified letter asking that they verify the debt.  (Sample letters are included in our debt kit.) Verifying the debt requires that they send you copies of documented proof that you owe the debt.  There is a statutory period governing them, so you need to act as quickly as possible after that make initial contact with you.  You can also ask them to stop contacting you since you don't believe you owe the debt.  Once you have told them this, they are barred under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act from contacting you to try and collect the debt or putting negative information on your credit report. They can contact you to tell you they're giving up all collection activity or they're going to sue you.

§ 805.  Communication in connection with debt collection   [15 USC 1692c]

(c) CEASING COMMUNICATION.  If a consumer notifies a debt collector in writing that the consumer refuses to pay a debt or that the consumer wishes the debt collector to cease further communication with the consumer, the debt collector shall not communicate further with the consumer with respect to such debt, except ?

§ 809.  Validation of debts   [15 USC 1692g]

1) the amount of the debt;

(2) the name of the creditor to whom the debt is owed;

(3) a statement that unless the consumer, within thirty days after receipt of the notice, disputes the validity of the debt, or any portion thereof, the debt will be assumed to be valid by the debt collector;

This number calls a few times a month asking for a person name Sharon(at least thats what i think the name is; the voice has an accent i think). I think this Sharon gave everyone my number as hers, b/c once a lady called me asking for sharon.

Keep getting calls from Law Office of Mitchell N Kay. The person they are looking for is no longer with the company. Hasn't been for years. I inherited the persons extension. Calls come from the following numbers : 646-383-1481, 800-714-9491 and 800-573-3387. Really annoying!!!

Keep receiving calls from various 800 numbers from a collection agency for a debt that is not mine.  They come several times a day and have not stopped in the last three months.

This company has called my company a number of times.  The automated recording asks for a name I do not recognize.  I know all my fellows here.  If I try to call back the 800 number, it tells me "your call cannot be completed at this time, please try your call again later.  Thank you."  When I call the 206-320-9606, I get the exact same response.  

Again, they are calling a place of business expecting to find a private individual.  Our company has had the same phone number for approximately 30 years...

didn't know who who was so i goggled it,...i have learned in the past the an attorney can not collect a debt,i had trouble a few years ago with a collector saying he was an attorney and when i asked for something showing the debt we owed, we never got anything..the case was then given to another represintive or a***ole whatver you wanna call them

I get a call about 5 times a week from 209-320-9606 . no message.  tonight on a whim, I called back and it was from the law offices of Mitchell N, Kay ... after reading the comments here, I figure it is a dept collection agency/call.  Next time, I'll answer and tell them to take my number OFF their list.  I have NO unpaid debts ! I'm in 95823 zip code.

I get a call about twice a week. I have never answered the call.
