The card was placed on my new door addressed to my mother who is also living there. She hasn't changed her address yet so it obviously wasn't put there via public record.

We just moved & received the same card in the mail, they get your information from the deed & mortgage that records at the court office.  Card wants me to ask for Barbara.  Thanks for everyone with comments.  I wish I could send a letter back stating "we know its a scam, stop sending these cards".....but there's no return address.  Post Office, UPS & Fedex would be the only ones I'd get a parcel package from.  

Rec'd the "formal" announcement as described by others. Seems they have relocated to ABQ.This was an offer of either free restaurant meals or vacation if I would allow them to have someone come to my home & test the water. They would not provide the name of the company.

Looking at this thread, it's clear that this scam has been going on for YEARS. Why hasn't anything been done yet? I just got a card saying that I had a parcel to be picked up. However, it's on what appears to be an invitation and is clearly not from any company that would have a parcel (USPS, UPS, etc.). It even asks me to call and ask for "Barbara". Wow, Barbara must be really tired from answering the exact same phone call for over 5 years now! Don't call. This screams scam!

Also got a card in the mail stating they had a parcel for me. Didn't even bother calling because it seemed scammy. Verified by all the posts here and for the other phone number they had listed 505-881-4998.

I got the same thing and called them back then nothing.  It's ok I don't need my water tested or a gift card to buy something that will cost me more in the end anyway!  Thank you all for your comments!!!!

Just received this card in the mail to call within 7 working days to receive a parcel.
What raised red flags for me is if they were legit? Why wouldn't they leave a parcel ticket like UPS or the post office leaves, instead of this nice formal card. I went on google to search and found this site.
My advise is beware: dial at your own risk!!!

So this has been going on for some time now? I got one today and I live in North West Georgia.

So I called Barbara.  They said they have a choice of gifts for me - either a 3-night hotel stay or a restaurant gift certificate.  And all i needed to do was have a water guy come inspect the quality of my drinking water for free.  I guess they'd then turn around and sell me water purification equipment or something for mucho pesos.  Anyway I told them I wasnt interested...

I bought my house then I started receiving notes from: Bueno Neighbors, indicating this "Mr _________ we have been unable to contact you by phone. Please contact us within 7 days. We have a parcel for you."
It sure sounds like a scam.

I wonder who this person works for.

Got the card. Google the 505-881-4998 and it comes up as

My opinion if for scams. Think I might just send the card back to the above
address. How pissed off would this person be if they started getting 100's

I got he card today, I live just south of Atlanta and have been in my home since 2008. From other posts the message appears to be the same, parcel#, call Barbara yada,yada. I didn't have to look it up to figure it was about some mess. No return address was a dead giveaway, no clear information on why I need to call, and if it is soooo urgent for me to call you within 7 days one would think you would have been more detailed in your message to me.  When you reverse search the phone number it does not tell you who the number belongs to - thus leading me to believe they don't want to be known as with all legitimate businesses if you search their number their name comes up. I had no intention  in calling  and was merely being noisy and Googled "Bueno Neighbors" and that is when my suspicions were confirmed. Nothing but some mess! Can't BS a BS'er!

I received that same card in the mail, I spoke with Barbara who was actually very nice.  I had set an appointment to get my Chili's card and get some sort of water analysis.  It was surprisingly a neat test, which I wasn't expecting.  Then I got my gift card and the technician left.

I still go to Chili's and if I ever decide to treat this terrible city water we have, I'm going to call Eco Water first.

I also recieved one the these cards in the mail, interested to find out what it was about I contacted barbara, I did have the option to chose between 2 gifts and recieve the water test. I actually appericiated the offer and allowed them into my own only with my husband present of course they were very nice and I don't see anything wrong with Bueno Neighbors at all, I don't see what everyone is so upset over. You all act like it's completly awful!!!

I also recently purchased a home - since the deed is a public record I'm sure that is how they got my name and address.  The light blue invitation card.  "Bueno Neighbors We have been unable to contact you by phone.  Please contact us within seven (7) days.  We have a parcel for you.  Call between 9:00am & 7:00pm M-F, 770-709-2288 Ask for Barbara."  This sounds seedy to me.  If they can't tell me the truth to start with (I did not receive any contact before the fist peice of mail) I don't epect them to tell me the truth if I call.  What a bunch of hoopta.

I got one of these too here in ABQ, and I'm an IT pro. I treat this just like any other spam--IGNORE IT. Do not respond, ever. Because then they know you're a valid 'mark' and you go into a different distribution list. Shred it and move on.

Well thank goodness for the internet and google search. Sure does save a lot of hassle. Toss!!!!

I received one from Atlanta also but the number is 770-709-2288...

I recently purchased a home. I received the Bueno Neighbors card in the mail. Apparently they have been unable to contact me by phone, and they have a parcel for me, which I have 7 days to respond. The blue invitation card advises to call between 9pm-7pm. I called at 820pm, and a guy answered. Babara was on the other line. He offered a $25 Restaurant gift card and for someone to come into my home and test my water. Ah, I dont think so... The number for Barbara is 770-709-2288.

In Atlanta, same story, Parcel number, call Barbara. Odd thing about this is the fact that they want to get you to call yet seem to do nothing when you do call. No trying to get you to buy anything, just leave a message and then nothing. Now I'm left trying to figure out their angle.

Sent a mysterious card in the mail claiming I have a package waiting for me to be picked up.

I got the same blue card, same information in Atlanta, same phone no. 770-709 2288, A voicemail answer And it was a company named "Bueno Neighbors", 10 minutes later a guy called me saying that he is from the bueno neighbors, a warming house company  and ask me what was the parcel number... Which one I never gave him. Instead I ask him what kind of company was that, and what kind of parcel was waiting for me, I stated that looks suspicious to me, and he said: " I don't want sound rude but if this sounds weird, why you called? ..." and then he hang up.   That was really rude to me, I was just curious!    Also, I just bought a house, but the funny thing is we purchase in cash, and not realtors involve.  We thing the go to the court houses, and gets the last tax records, because my name appear exactly like my title record which was miss spelling for 1 letter.  Those documents are public, anyone can get it.   I am still want to know, what kind of parcel they have for me.  I am going to ask a friend to call back and get more information.
