I get these calls starting at 8:30 am and until 8:45pm at night M-F....I do not pick up on numbers I do not recognize. I am on the DO NOT CALL LIST......but to no avail on this dratted number....I blocked the number once and then they called back with another 800 number.....How can you lose these bastards?

This message os for anyone getting calls from a service stating they are from Capital One.  The message is something like, we want to talk to you about your account, it is not late, we want to talk to you about lowering your interest rate on your account.  The service is being used by Capital one, and the way they are trying to basically in my own opinion defraud the public is this...The caller will dicuss how your Capital One account can have a lower interest rate.  The way it works from the way I just found out, was this, you are regularly charged lets say $6.28 on your card balance as an interest charge and that would say be on a 20 percent interest rate.  Now, look closely at your account, because you will see another charge called "interest charge special purchase" or something like this, and that could be like a $44 plus dollar amount on your card added just for them to say your interest is at now 17 percent.  This happened to my account, I did not authorize the so called transactions to take place, and seeing about the times they stopped calling my home every 2 to 3 times a day, is when the charges started up on my account.  So, make sure that you check any of your credit card statements thoroughly, and make sure the banks haven't tried that loop hole trick on you to still get as much from you as a card holder.  Needless to say, this has instilled ditrust with my doing any further business with Capitol One Bank.  I closed my account due to this fraudulent act, it's what I call it anyway.  So, everyone please be careful when dealing with credit cards and the banks as the dishonest ones will make the homest ones lose business too.

I was receiving these annoying calls, after several attempts to call the number back I found this comment page and found it was windstream.  I called them everyday and asked them to quit calling.  They finally said that they would put me on the no call from them and after it didn't stop I called and complained again.  I probably called them 8-10 times but have not received a call in weeks. good luck

i called the 1-866-445-3402 number. it is so annoying to answer the phone only to be hung up on, were on the do not call list however......i have found out that if you ARE a customer, they can indeed call you with offers. even if they use a telemarketing firm, so you have to call windstream and ask to be put on THEIR do not call list!!!!!!! after alot of bull, they did promise to not call any more. yeah right  we will see

My husband answered the phone and he handed the phone to me. Caller identified herself as being from Windstream and began to describe new things they'd be offering us free for a month. I simply said we know what we need and we'll call them when WE get ready, not when they come after us.

See this link https://www.donotcall.gov  Report the calls.  Then go to Federal agencies to check for fraud and other illegal activities http://www.pueblo.gsa.gov/cic_text/misc/aging-parents/consumer-fraud.htm.  Hopefully having the federal government involved it will get there attention.

I am absolutely sick and tired of recieving anywhere from 4-6 phone calls daily, at all times.. They usually start around 9 am and last as late as 9:30 pm. I have tried calling the number back and get a answering service asking to leave a message, I have left several messages and have yet to recieve a call back from a person or the calls to stop!!

We have recieved these calls for several months. We have actually talked to people and asked NOT to be called again and yet we still recieved them. We have called WindStream directly twice and were assured that it will stop. Well it has not. Now is the time to call PUCO. Here is the # if any of you would like to call as well....1-800-686-7626. Maybe if they get enough people complaining it will stop.

well they called me as well a call back leads to a voice mail. I suggest everyone plan ahead and simply plan to mass call them back at one time and overload their circuits and voice mail capabilities.  I also left a very nasty voice mail that would have made a sailor blush.

Received a call from 800-575-5633 with no one on the other end, punched up the number on the net... Well it looks like Windstream, called Windstream and they removed me pleasantly with no problems or hassle.  Thank you Windstream for being so nice about removing me from your list.

Last week, I received my last Windstream bill.  It credited last month?s payment and I was left owing $5.07.  I wrote them a last check.  On it and all over the bill and all over the self-addressed Windstream envelope, I wrote 800 575 5633: again and again and again. The check cleared, so I guess they got the message.

Callls from this number 1-800-575-5633 start from 8:30 am until 7:00 or 8:00 at night.When I answer they ask me to stay on line for a phone call and then phone goes dead.When I allow the answering machine to pick up very loud annoying music starts playing and againg a recording saying someone is calling stay on line.This is happening 5 or 6 times a day an I called the phone company(WINDSTREAM)LOL to report it.Didn't know it was winstream until I just goggled it!!!!!!!!!!!I have called them and left a message telling them that I am in poor health and these phone calls are very disturbing, that I wanted them to stop.....Will see!!

The 800 575 5633 calls stopped the moment I switched to Global.  I guess Windstream only wants clients who buy the full package and don?t care if we switch.  I am not trying to plug my new company, but I am getting more for my $54.95 a month.  It is now September 24.

I also called the number back and told them to quit calling. They atarted calling more! I called the number on my bill and went through the same thing. They atarted calling from a different number (as shown on my Caller ID) I called back today, demanded and waited to talk to the "highest ranking supervisor available", and went through the same thing.

She told me "the order is shown not to call me anymore but it was revoked 1 week later".

If you are in Pennsylvania, the State Attorney General, is the place to go next. They (SGA) are sick of being swamped with calls & letters by p.o.ed people and are building a case against Windstream. Add your voice. Get it stopped. BTW, Windstream recently bought Alltel in my area and it's now nearly impossible to get any service requests from them.

Progress is not always good for people.

a message to call me back.  The only toll free message I got tonite was
from Phil English--it was a recording telling me, "Sorry I missed you at the town meeting 'and the recording just get spewing his ad campaign

I have been receiving these call for over two weeks, about 3-4 times a day. I have called Windstream to find out what I could do and they were unable to tell me who was calling my phone.  A few minutes ago I found this comment page and find out its my own telephone company.  So I call windstream and tell them I know the calls are coming from them and how do I stop it.  The lady on the phone said she would put a block to stop their telemarketers from further calls to me we'll see if this works.  Thanks so much for this page so I finally know who is annoying me.

I have just fixed Windstream the only way that can really teach them a lesson.  I have always been upset that I give them more than 50 dollars a month for basic service that has no alternative free-enterprise that I may choose from.

Well, I have just signed up with Global Connection (877-511-3009) which was not available, in the past, in my Altel-windstream twilight zone.  I will be keeping my phone number, do not have to notify Windstream, and paying $54 a month.  Often my windstream runs as much as $65 with added charges.

They have been harassing us because we refused to get the broad-band.  If you are on National do-not-call (888 382 1222), you may not report telermarketers if you already do business with them.  After next week, when my service has changed, it will be a violation of Federal law for them to call me.
