Received a call from 1-800-586-3988. Said they from "The Mortgage Company" and wanted me to call them. Anyone else getting these and who the heck IS calling?

Called on 5/29/2009 at 12:36 p.m. EST. Said on caller I.D.919-375-1252 North Carolina. Couldn't make out the company the girl said, she spoke VERY fast. But I did make out the # she said to call which is the 800 # above (800-586-3988) and something about mortgage. We're not in the market for a refi new mortgage, etc. Cross check w/the 919# on WHO CALLED US, you get a whole other type of pests. Either way, they both are Do Not Call # 's.

I think it is a scam number too. I got an email that said it was from Bank of America. Someone else on here posted that it was Countrywide.

Yes - It's Countrywide. I had inquired about Refinanace of my Countrywide home mortgage and the email from the agent has 800-586-3988 as his call back number.
