Keep getting these calls every two weeks

I requested for the FOURTH time to be REMOVED junk fax list. I finally called the company and got arrogant idiot named Estaban who told me I called the wrong number and needed to try the number at the bottom of the page as if it does any good... that I did not need to talk to him about anything because I was a bottom feeder and he was very busy.  Who does that?
I can't believe anyone would reply to such a poorly written unprofessional fax.

How did I get these I asked to be removed from there fax list numerous times the last time I called I was told to pound salt. I waited a few days and called back asked about the trips and said I wwould only pay via fax and they sent  me a pretty cover page and and a invoice to pay instead of payng them I sent a black fax page asking to be removed. Then the games started I received dozens of obscene calls finally had to have the Altomonte Springs FL police go give him a visit. They can be reached at 407-339-2441

The internet is full of COMPLAINTS about Sunstar Travel and Tours Inc.  and now "Central State Travel".

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES deal with this company.  They are unscrupulous and, if your voice complaints, will be SWORN AT, degraded and berated.

There is a reason you cannot find a phone number or a fax number for these FRAUD ARTISTS ....

JAY HAMMOND IS A LIAR and all of his comments are completely false.  Why do you think they no longer run under the Sunstar name ?

In the Hooters case, the judgment for the unsolicited faxes was $12 million.

The cost of filing and prosecuting the matter, I'm sure, was well worth it.

Well, just as I suspected. Even though I have confirmation numbers coming out the wazoo from these a***oles (which are supposed to be able to enable these guys to track who, what and when the call was made to have the # removed), I still received another fax on the 25 of March. Less than a month after my last post. I figured this would happen.

I see they have a new tactic now. I called and asked to have the confirmation number checked, and they didnt even acknowledge it. Instead, the man I was talking to (Could this have been Jay Hammond? I do not know, but for some reason I suspect so.) wanted the fax number so he could remove it. I proceeded to try to explain I had a confirmation number and wanted to have it checked, but instead this man started to yell, scream and swear at me. He also said it must have been a different company that was sending me the faxes as they have been in business only since January. Funny, the faxes I have been receiving since before January are all the same so....I don't know somebody is lying here.

But anyway, I couldn't get a word in edgewise bcause he was screaming and swearing so hard at me (I could picture him with froth in his mouth, he was screaming so hard) so this way, you can't help but give up and hang up in frustration and still receive their annoying faxes.

I wish I could find out what their fax number is, I would send them black pages all day long just to waste their toner and paper, see how they like it.

Bottom line-- These guys are scumbag sleazeballs. PERIOD!!
Be very wary doing businees with them. If they cannot do something as simple as remove a fax number, I would be leary of buying a vacation from them, but hey, IT IS YOUR MONEY!

I'm Canadian and not stupid, despite what you might think.  I don't want your faxes either, and I've made several attempts to have our number removed from your lists.  We don't want your offers and in fact, I'm rather turned off the idea of travelling to anywhere you offer.  If anyone can find out what their fax number is, please let me know, I'd love to send them several faxes a day with a "STOP FAXING ME" written across the page.  Just because we live in Canada, does not make it acceptable to send us your trash.

I have phoned several times and asked to have my number removed. I have put my number in several times as suggested on the bottom of the fax.
I talked to someone who answered the phone and told them that I have asked to be removed and she gave me some attitude and also that the fax numbers are routed from somewhere else. Notice that they don?t have the balls to put there fax number on the paper they sent to you or a website that you can see or contact them.

I would suggest playing the game back to all of you out there. Fax a piece of paper back to the 1-800-592-2140 phone number and keep re-sending. This will drive them crazy because it will keep sending. I put mine on re-dial and I can still hear them picking it up and giving their Company greeting and saying hello, hello.

The junk fax does not show the number from which it originated, which is a violation of the law in Canada.  However, since the fax was likely sent from the U.S., the sender is exempt.  But then, why hide if it's legitimate?  We get this garbage from any number of places.  Selling cruises must be hugely profitable if they can afford all these junk faxes.

I have been trying to get removed from your system since Oct 15 2008 and have still received your faxes since then until now March 4 2009.
I have confirmation numbers coming out the wazoo, and when I asked a manager there what guarantee I had that the number would be removed after trying for so long to have it removed, he got very irate and told me this and I quote "f*** off and suck my balls". Yep, very professional. Well, all I want is for you to stop wasting my paper, my time and my patience. I got another fax from your company today and I called and asked for my number to be removed and got a confirmation number as well. We will see next month if it REALLY was removed. I am not holding my breath on that one tho.
I will post an update next month if it was removed or not.

You are not giving the right information to people. I have received two faxes to my home (i don't have a company) with two different numbers.  I've called two times to have my phone number removed (because your company is trying to send faxes to my home phone number) and the company is still sending faxes.  It's not true that you only send to people who opted for the information and it's not true that you delete the numbers because i'm still receiving faxes month after month.

This is an update from my previous entries from 2007. Thanks to your many complaints, sharing info about these guys, and the bull headed refusal of Joseph Hannah and his crew at Sunstar Travel to stop this fax abuse, on May 28, 2008 the FCC issued a "Notice of Apparent Liability" against Sunstar Travel, Inc. and its principals in the amount of $169,500. I live in Vancouver and was on craigslist and saw an ad for great vacation deal packages etc and this number. Before I even tried calling it, thank god i googled the number and i see this bs! if i had called this number i would probably start receiving faxes as well.

you are a whack job... do you have any idea what it costs to initiate a class action complaint? No one will take you serious. You will come off as a dimwit to anyone who knows what's involved in a real class action complaint. You probably have no clue what a class action or derivative complaint really is. You are probably just another loser who has too much time on their hands.

You mention that you only send to people and companies that have opted in to receive your meterials and advertising. We have NEVER opted in, in fact, we do everything to be taken off of every spam list. None of us here are interested in vacation deals to Florida. This is a small business and I can assure you no one ever asked us whether or not we were interested in receveiving these "promotions". Either the advertising agency you are dealing with is not doing its job right, or your company is to blame. Either way, it reflects very badly on your company image.

I live in Canada and I have never requested FAXes fron any marketing companies.  Sunstar Travel and Tours Inc (Sunspa Travel) is a pest and does not respect our privacy.  I began to receive those BEEP BEEP BEEP calls on my home phone line and I had to buy myself a FAX machine to know who was calling me with a FAX; since I have hookup my FAX machine I do receive plenty of FAX-SCRAP.  Sunstar Travel and Tours Inc should be punnished for there bad behaviour, by sending FAXes to people that have never request it.

OUR ACTION:  Why not all of us send back there FAX copy to there FREE number 1-800-592-2140 (non FAX number) many time during the day;  thay will how bad is receiving BEEP BEEP BEEP at any time of the day.  Spread 1-800-592-2140 everywhere you can, so that there telephon line is saturated of FAX calls.   Maybe this should not stop them from FAXing to us but will give us a pleasure answering to there agression.

This is an update of my post of 8-3-07. Thanks to all who have added their comments to Jay Hammond's posting in response to mine. I had not re-visited these postings until today, which I did because I just saw the report by BBB of Central Fla. (www.orlando.bbb.org) of the 10-26-2007 Indiana Attorney General filing suit against these folks on behalf of Indiana residents for 129 reported recent junk faxes. (Google 800-592-2140 and it will come up quickly) Lots of "legitimate errors" for one state, aren't there? Yes Mr. Hammond, your boss did give me a removal confirmation number, about a month before I got another junk fax from you.

You are not sending these faxes in error.  You are intentionally sending them out.  I also receved one.  When I call your people they act as though it is normal business.  They know you are junk faxing.

I'm also submitting my complaint as above as a member to the class action suit.

S-Star or their fax contractor do not process their unsolicited fax advertising in accordance with the communications regulations of any juridiction (re: Canada CRTC Order 2001-193 / USA US Code Title 47 Sec 227(a)(2)(B)). {Quote from above -Mr J.Hammond: "We send only to people and companies that have opted in to receive our materials and advertising. We do have our advertising company send random faxes to CANADA only. That is NOT illegal and we follow and abide by every law and statute."}

How I usually handle these unsolicited uses of my office equipment is as follows:
1.  Issue a quote to the sending company for use of the office equipment (ie. fax machine).  I use the local hotel rate of $1.25 per page and a minimum 1 hour charge for processing (our hourly rate is $90). So, a single page fax is $91.25.
2. If I recieve another fax from the sending company, I issue an invoice for the quoted amount.  Since they sent another fax they must have accepted the quote.  I even give them terms (Net 15).
3. I send an over due notice at 30 days.
4. At 45 days over due I file a claim in small claims court.
5. I go to court.  I win every time!  I get a judgement for the quoted amount and costs.  I put a lean against the sending company (This really messes with thier credit rating or an active line of credit.).
6. I receive really nasty calls from the sending company (which I record) and use if I have to file for threats.

Yep, same thing here. Got many faxes & called to be removed from the list. Now their system says "this number has already been removed." ... still getting those faxes though. How do we get their fax # so we can send them junk mail and use their toner?

Let's shut these scammers down.  We have received multiple junk faxes at our company from these guys, called to be removed many times, to no avail.  If we all start filing complaints online the FCC will bring pressure to bear on these guys.

I too have been attacked by relentless faxes from this company.  The removal number and confirmation number systems do not work.  I was subjected to verbal abuse from the S-Star representative on subsequent attempts to remove my number.  I have unlisted my number, subscribed to every do not call service my provider has, filed a complaint with my provider and have documented everything. This company does not abide by the laws but rather sends faxes as "Private Caller", "Unlisted Number", ("111)111-1111", etc. And for your information Jay, it is illegal to randomly target companies in Canada - check the CRTC regulations. Perhaps it is time for a class action suit. Better yet, does anybody know Jay's personal number so we can fax him "friendly" reminders at 2am to have our numbers de-listed?
