These guys call at least once or twice a month!! I play with them a bit asking ...oh what is the problem...they tell me.....oh now what can I do? ..... they blab on....then I tell them that I have all Apple products in the home and then they say oh sorry sir, good bye.

They often spufi the number. On the phone it shows as Unknown but on our Optik TV with Telus it shows the spufi number like... 4420000000000 or 234567890

No doubt another one of those corrupt call centers out of India.

I just received a call from Windows Tech Support.  He told me that my computer was infected with many viruses and that it was going to crash.  When he asked which keys I had I my board, I told him he should know.  He just keep saying "oh god" "oh god" your computer is in trouble. He stated he wanted access to my computer and I told him that I wouldn't provide that to anyone.  I told him I didn't believe he.  He then provided me with the CSID and said there, see I know your computer.  I told him that I would still not allow him access to my computer and asked for a number to call back.  He said he couldn't give me that and kept talking to someone in the background about me trying to get the number.  He called from 1-326-172-0000.  I tried calling the number back and it said it was not a number in service.  He told me that they used an internet server to make calls!?!  I ended up just hanging out.  I have norton in place and backed everything up.

I just received a call whose callback number was 1-800-601-1921.  They claim to be tech support and when I started question the guy, he called me his servant and how dare I speak to him in such a demeanor. He thought he was so important.  As a telemarketer myself, I usually don't mess around with people that call me, I politely ask them to remove my number, but this was no telemarketer, it was a scammer.  I had fun with this one.

Got the same call - John he said his name was. Stated that my computer was not responding to updates and that he could help fix the problem. I do have one computer with this issue and have been sending reports to Microsoft. With the thick accent it was hard to hear the name of the company - sounded like Onlana support. I called back the 800-601-1921 and a woman answered the phone as though it was her own personal phone, not the usual professional greeting. I said I would call back as the connection was bad. Decided to look up the number on the internet and found these posts.

I don't know if it was from this number, but I got one of these "universal server" calls this week on my home landline.  An Indian gal asked for me by name, gave me the talk about error messages, wanted me to check my computer.  But the joke was on them, because I have no internet service or computer at home.  So, it looks like they're just randomly calling out of the phone book, not using any specific info about computer ownership or use.  I played along for awhile, but she bailed when I finally said no computer.

The scammer uses Teamviewer software that bypasses firewalls thru s SSL port. Must have hacked the accounts at Teamviewer because he wanted me to log on to Teamviewer (which I had installed but removed after the call). Do not give any info to this person.

One of the reasons why people get calls from South Asian scammers is because there are off shored call centers over there. The illegal boiler rooms are the ones that are taking part in scam.

The amount of Efraud coming out of India is getting to be overwhelming.   The next time they call to "fix your computer," tell them they'll have to talk to the "guy who is in charge of the computer" because you can't do anything.   Then give them the name and phone number of your congressman, or a local media outlet personality, or government law enforcement agency.   If we can redirect this avalanche of fraud onto the political/media class, something might get done to stop it.

I'll "be satisfied" by Rita-Neal-Ann Rodriguez? Does s/he give Happy Endings before my bank account is cleaned out or do I have to wait for nine of his/her friends to run up credit bills in my name?

I think it is "ossam" that we are having this much impact on their scam, and that they are stupid enough to come here and reward the site's hard work with these very gratifying shill posts.

Scammers Say: "Please, leave us alone, we need to steal money from innocent people so we can buy a dictionary and look up the correct spelling of ossam."

We Say: Sorry scammers, we're a bunch of haters here, and we are hating on maggots who victimize decent but non-technical computer users.  Try posting your threats, scams, and lies on 4chan instead.  I'm sure you will feel the love there.

I received a call today from someone named "Shelley" with a strong mid-eastern accent claiming I had problems with my Windows Program.  She wanted me to check my CL ID number, which I didn't.  I suspected a scam so I asked her for a callback number and she gave me 800-601-1921.  The call had originated from 607-363-9766.  I checked the numbers online and found this site, confirming the scam.  There were a lot of voices in the background.  They must have a lot of people making these calls.

I received a call this evening from an unknown number.  Charles was with Windows Technical Support and was calling to help me becuase my computer was disconnected from the windows server.  I asked when it was disconnected and it was 2 days ago.  Charles wanted me to log onto my computer to help me get reconnected.  I told him I needed to call him back and the number provided is "1-800-601-1921".  This is a scam to get into important files on your computer.  Please warn family members that could be scared with this types of tactics.

They are scammers. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION!!! If you are worried they are not scammers, call your internet service provider (Comcast, Verizon, etc). They are the only ones that can disconnect you from the internet. Update your virus protection and sign up for a credit monitoring service as your personal information may have been compromised. Spread the word!

DO NOT LET THEM REMOTE IN AND DO NOT PAY THEM!!! THESE SICK JOKES OF "TECHNICIANS" WANT TO STEAL YOUR MONEY, YOUR INFORMATION AND RUIN YOUR COMPUTER.  I have not dealt with them personally but I am a legitimate technician from a RETAIL store in the USA and I have dealt with customers that have been plagued by these SCAMMERS!  PLEASE Don't be fooled by their scam.  NO LEGITIMATE company calls your phone without you calling first and they don't charge you HUGE amounts of money over the phone with credit.  THEY are shady people that just want your money and to have you allow them remote access so that they can do damage from there and they push you for that and are obviously VERY UNPROFESSIONAL because they are scammers!
