when phone answered ... caller starting speaking in spanish ... hung up immediately ...

Phone recording with a lady in a hard to understand English type accent has been calling my teenage daughter's cell phone. Her Dad (my ex) owes money to an ambulance company and they must have gotten her number as next to kin from the hospital or something. They used to call me but after a couple of times I told them not to call me for my ex's bills.

Okay long story short, I did some research on the 800-601-8762 & you if call 800-352-2309 which is a National Customer Service # for http://www.ruralmetro.com/products_billingnumbers.asp (Rural Metro)
This # 800-601-8762 is a branch off of Rural Metro called Southwest Ambulance Service in Utah.

Quick question for everyone. Because this seems to be an Ambulance Collection Agency, Has anyone recently gone to a hospital in an ambulance? I know I have but I wont return their phone call unless they give me more info.

The best way to get rid of them is to send them a Cease Communication letter VIA Certified Mail. Request a return receipt and keep copies of everything you send. If they continue calling after you have written proof they received it, they can face fines of up to $1,000.00 PER violation.

get several calls from this number a day for over one and a half years now. who are they?

Voicemail from English woman as above, but couldn't make out where she was from. The message said to call, but when we called no answer. How can we find out if this is a scam???

Getting calls from this number - Rural Metro Ambulance - at least 3xs a week for my aunt who passed away in August - barely 3 months.  They are calling regarding bills that Medicare hasn't even paid yet!  Told them to take it up with medicare and her supplement.  UGH!  Sick of the English woman asking for my aunt to call her.  Trust me they would not want to deal with my aunt - LOL!!

I keep getting calls from this number only the caller id says "FOUNDFORTHEBLIND" yes i know it says FOUND, not FUND.  but its from Rural Metro like the user says above.  i wonder if its legal to call using Fund for the blind as an alias

I get about two to three calls a week from this number, and they claim to be seeking a "Carmen Santiago" (where in the world is Carmen, anyway?) and if you are said person, you're supposed to press "1" to be connected to them.

When I do, I get varied responses from them asking to speak to Carmen, to a simple hello.  I usually leave it on speaker phone and turn up the TV.  I figure, if they want to waste my time, I can waste theirs too.

This number is their collection group. They call even if your sending in payments on time, which I am.
Nothing has appeared on my credit rating because I did make payment arrangements.

I have received repeated calls from this phone number over the last several weeks, each time a voicemail was left with an english woman requesting a call back.  Today I finall called back and got Rural Metro Ambulance.. the man who answered demanded I give him my correct billing address or he would not give me the reason for the repeated calls.  I refused to give him an address without know why... he wouldnt tell me why... and then he hung up on me.

Had and English Accent and hard to understant.  Said " something and affiliates.  Listed as 800 service.

appeared on caller i.d.   as "800 service"

It said "800 Service" on caller id.
