Same thing happened to me,I get theses calls at lease 2x a day, very annoying to me.

Get calls often, from 7 or 8 AM to 9 PM. I pick up the phone and no one answers, sounds like an automated machine that won't start! I call the number back to a "number not in service" message. Tried various "reverse phone lookup" services online but just like dating, when they ask for your credit card number I hit the red "X"...

We receive calls daily. It is an automated call that says it is important to talk to us and asks us to press 1. Please stop calling. My next step is the attorney generals office

I had a message from this "Ruben Schwartz" on my phone when I went home for lunch.  I noticed a lot of peopel said when they tried to call back the number didn't work. Well, in the message left for me, the number that is left is 800-608, not 605, which is what shows up on the Caller ID.  I'm not sure what the point is of having a fake number for your Caller ID.  Regardless, I'm not calling them back.

Call woke me up; 3 rings...hangs up. I called the #, they dont take calls.

like all the above they call constantly.  I reported the number on the do not call list.  if they get enough complaints maybe someone will look into it.

Received an automated message from this number today with a male voice identifying him as Ruben Schwartz.  There are 3 adults in this household and 3 children.  Who are they calling for?

CALL 1-800-605-5429 AND PRESS REDIAL EVERY 2 MINUTES AND CONTINUE TO ASK THEM TO TAKE YOU OFF THE LIST. THEY DON'T LIKE THE HARASSMENT EITHER. BUT IF WE ALL DO THIS IT MIGHT WORK.  I TOLD THEM THAT THEY HAVE THE WRONG PERSON AND IF THEY NEEDED ANY HELP, I WOULD FIND THE PERSON THEY WERE LOOKING FOR, BECAUSE THE IGNORANT BASTARDS CAN'T. THEY ARE MINIMUM WAGE LOSERS THAT THINK THEY ARE WORTH SOMETHING.  HOPE THEY ARE MAKING THIER MOTHERS PROUD!!!!!!!

My caller says he is Rubin Schwartz and that it is not a sales call.  Press 1 for agent or return call.  When I dialed number I was told number not in service.  I get at least 4 calls a day.

When I answer, no one's home? What is this? a ploy by the phone companies to increase air time useage?

Just got a call from a fast talking female from Leading Edge Recovery Svc who has my name and last digits of my ss#. She was adamant about collecting a debt for Capitol One. Funny, I do not have any accounts with this company and never will.  The have predatory business practices.

This is a debt collector for student loans.  Does anyone else on this thread have student loans past due?  If not then someone who had your number before you must have one.  If not, then I am stumped.

Just got a call from just number and tried to call back just for the hell of it and it said that number is not in service like above.. whoever called me left a voice message and it was a prerecorded Message that said this is Rueben Swartz and it was important that I called him back.

yeah. They keep calling for me at around 10 or so. And its not even MY phone. its my friends. they asked for me the first time but not after that. they just say to call them back but it doesnt work. it says its out of service.

Several times a day I get a call from this 800 number.  It is always a live person and they ask to speak with the same person.  (Alexander Rupert?).  Is there a way to get this number 1 800 605 5429 to stop calling?

My cell is AT&T also.  I suspect you are right about AT&T being the culprit.  I have been with Verison for most of the 40 some years I've had land line service and the only time I switched to AT&T (cheaper rates at the time) I found that my AT&T info was given (sold) to other companies as I began getting a lot of junk mail.  The reason I know it was AT&T was because I used a different name for my phone book listing and that was who recieved the junk mailings at my address.  What can we do to stop AT&T from selling our private cell phone numbers?  Email me at bearswamplady@bluefrog.com if you come up with a plan, please.  Thanks

I have been getting messages on my cell phone from Rubin Schwartz... this is my second one. Just states to give a call back at 800 608 5429 and that this is not a sales call. Doesn't state who the call is for and the number comes up unknown. I have great credit and have no idea what this call is about. I am going to ignore for now.

800-663-4707 calls all the time. No one has info by my name or phone number, so they get nothing. Why would I give out my personal info to some nucklehead that knows nothing? Leading Edge based out of Chicago with another number 773-380-8800. Very unprofessional outfit for sure.

For at least 3 months have been getting calls on my cell phone.  About 1 month ago I signed my cell phone up on the "do not call list".  I just received another call from Ruben Swartz about 5 minutes ago.  This has got to stop.

Hi My boss got a call from these folks on two different occassions and he did not appreciate the calls but they called him in New mexico from a different Number and I have found many articles that tel me these fols are not supposed to be in the business of collecting or calling any one but I gusee now they figure if they are working out of their own state they are safe to do so However the number they are calling me from is 1-800-663-4707 they call me and scream and yell at me because I have given credit solutions power of attorney to handle my credit cards and I give them that number and they still call me they said they did not want that number and I was not supposed to give them that number any more but Credit Solutions is my consultants I don't Know what I am supposed to do on social security and the government tells me I cannot make any more money than what I am making other wise I will be fined I am saveing all I can to settle debts with I cannot do any more the whole country is in a state of financial ruin from the top down I am in the same boat as every one else at this point they just need to be patient and they will get their money as it becomes available thank you  E.L.Mcintosh

I'm on the DNC list but have been receiving daily calls from Ruben Schwartz, a telemarketer from 800-608-5429.  This has to stop.

Been receiving calls from a telemarketer by the name of Ruben Schwartz and he said "it's very important" I return his call.  Never leaves the name of his company or what he's calling about.  I"m on the DNC list.  Reported him to the FTC today and suggest you do the same.

Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan has filed a lawsuit against a Chicago debt collection agency for allegedly using unfair tactics, intimidation and misrepresentations to convince consumers to make payments when, in some instances, the consumers never owed the money.

The lawsuit names Leading Edge Recovery Solutions, L.L.C., as the defendant. Leading Edge Recovery Solutions, an Illinois limited liability corporation based in Chicago, collects debts on behalf of various entities, including credit card and installment debts.

Madigan's Consumer Protection Division has received 53 complaints against Leading Edge Recovery Solutions. According to these complaints, consumers made payments ranging from $300.00 up to $2,900.00 and, in some instances, Leading Edge Recovery Solutions deducted payments directly from consumers' bank accounts without the consumers' authorization.

"Based on the numerous consumer complaints that we have received, Leading Edge Recovery Solutions and its representatives have harassed and intimidated consumers in Illinois and throughout the United States to obtain payments on alleged debts," Madigan said.

The lawsuit, filed in Cook County Circuit Court, alleges that Leading Edge Recovery Solutions has attempted to collect on debts that are as much as 20 years old and, in some cases, are not even owed by consumers. When consumers have responded to contacts from Leading Edge Recovery Solutions by requesting proof that they actually owe the debt, the company has failed to provide such proof.

Madigan alleges that as part of its collection efforts, Leading Edge Recovery Solutions sent collection letters and contacted consumers by telephone, often using abusive language or improperly contacting consumers at their places of employment.

The complaint specifically alleges that representatives of Leading Edge Recovery Solutions made numerous misrepresentations during their collection efforts, including:

? That they are attorneys and that the company would file a lawsuit if the debt is not paid;

? That the company would file a lien against the consumer's property if the debt is not paid;

? That the consumer could be arrested or imprisoned for failing to pay the debt;

? That the consumer's wages would be garnished if the debt was not paid; and

? That the company would take other actions that would have an adverse impact on the consumer's credit report if the debt is not paid.

Madigan's lawsuit asks the court to prohibit Leading Edge Recovery Solutions from engaging in the business of collecting or attempting to collect on debts, and from further violating Illinois' consumer protection laws. The lawsuit seeks civil penalties and requests that the court order Leading Edge Recovery Solutions to pay restitution to consumers.

They keep calling I just do not pick up. It is a pain sometimes, but My phone has different ring tones depending upon who calls. So it is easy to ignore the tune I do not know.
