Received a call from Claire of Sweepstakes GR and the caller ID came back to a Jill Minton our of Hobart IN.  Same info as previous statements; "entered as far back as 18mos ago to win a car", "finalist for the top 4 gifts", "This is not a sales call".  They 800 she left to call back was not valid #877-296-3020.  I did a reverse directory on that and it came back to a Mister Mattress in IN.  Called the 219 and received a busy signal.

I'll let it go for now.

Thank you!  Got the same message.  Googled because the message did not even use my name.  You have saved me a lot of time:)

Yes, got the same message from Sweepstakes Group from Cheryl, finalist in a car giveaway that is not a sales call etc.

Funny how her message said, "you guys" won.  Not buying it.

Well, it was most interesting reading all the other messages regarding unsolicited calls from "Jill" at 2199409235 with a voice message asking me to call 8002513919 because I was a finalist for a new car in a sweepstakes I supposedly had entered "as long as 18 months ago."  Hopefully the proper authorities will bring this to an end.  In the meantime, thanks for creating a website to collect this type of information.

Yep,
Received a voicemail from Jill at Sweepstakes Group. I apparently was a finalist in a car giveaway.  Imagine that!  Called the number for kicks and always got her voicemail. They do sound very convincing and assure you that it is not a sales call. They can suck it.

When you fill out any sweepstakes form you, you invalidate your enrollment on the do not call list for that company until you tell them to remove you from their call lists.  By entering the contest, you made them a company that you do business with.  Hanging up and ignoring them will not stop their calls.  You must tell them to remove your name and number from their calling list.  The FTC is very helpful.

I'm freaking out a little -- I did get this call and was hopeful that it was true. I had entered a contest that this fell in the parameters of (which O Network just sent out an email 2 days ago saying that they had nothing to do with, but that's where the contact info was taken from). I gave the person just a little bit of information (address, they knew my phone). What do I do? What do they usually do after they've made contact? I didn't give any credit card info, or anything like that. The person who called me, "Bill" mentioned the Lincoln Navigator, and then when I called back I talked to "James" who told me about the travel group that the prizes were connected to in Mystic CT -- Triton Travel, www.tritonholidays.com. He gave me their website and address and contact info. I feel stupid for even talking to them but I had entered a sweepstakes at Oprah.com and why wouldn't I trust that. My cell phone number which they called is on a do not call list -- so how else would they have my number. What should I do????

I received an "urgent" call from Jill at "sweepstakes something or other" a couple days ago.  I decided to call back. At 800-251-3919.  I was surprised when reverse phone identified the number on my caller ID 219-940-3759 as Jill Minton's with an address in Hobart, IN.

Like most here, I am gauaranteed to win a prize... a new Cooper Mini (or $20k) a trip to Orlando or Vegas or a camcorder.  I provided my junk e-mail address and before I hung up the phone I received my confirmation letter to sit through a 90 min presentation by Triton Travel in CT.  Perhaps I did enter a sweepstakes at some point in the last 18 months, I am not really sure.  But, I don't know how from the alleged entry that they know my househol income is $50k or more as I would NEVER answer that question on anything I drop in a box...  Not sure what I'll do.   If I can talk the wife into it I just may go and hear them out and see what my scratch ticket reveals.  Gotta wonder if the top prize does exist?????  Anyone out there ever win a car?

Got "the call" from Jill today and I'm feeling slighted, I only "won" the grand prize Mini Cooper.  Since I would never in this life time try to win a Mini Cooper I pretty much figured this was a scam - I might have been a little more excited if I "won" the Lincoln!!  Like many other people I'm on the National Do Not Call List, in addition to having (and paying extra for) an unlisted phone number.  I'm NOT amused....

After reading all these messages, I knew as soon as I heard the message, that this was indeed a scam. Seems to be plaguing a lot of the massachusetts residents. I reported them as well, and am also on a national do not call list.

Apparently with all the reporting to the FTC and BBB that has been done....they've done nothing about this situation. I just received a call from "Jill" today, January 19th, 2010. For some reason I just decided to google the 800 number she left on my answering machine, and this blog is what I found. Thanks for all the entries. Seems there's a lot more than only 4 finalists! Hehehehe. Obviously I won't be calling them back

Today (11-16-09 2:07 PM) received message as follows:
Hello, my name is Jill. I'm calling from the awards claim center in regards to an entry form i have here that you guys apparently submitted a while back..it could have been done as far back as 18 months ago and it was filled out in hopes to win a brand new Lincoln Nagigator for our company's give-away here in Plymouth. Now they did have entries all over where you can just sign yourself up to win and they did choose yours as one of our finalists, so congratulations. This does guarantee you one of the top four gifts in the contest just for reaching the final step in the give-away so I strongly advise you to contact me and I can give you all the details. My number here is toll-free. it's 800-606-6602. I CAN ASSURE YOU THIS IS NOT A SALES CALL so hope to hear from you soon and have a great day.

This call came on our home phone but also came on my wife's cell phone.

I received a message from " David" stating I was one of 4 guaranteed finalists to win 1 of 4 prizes; a Lincoln Navigator or $43,000 cash, $2,500 cash, a trip, or a 32" flat screen tv from a contest I entered 18 months ago. He stated twice "this was not a sales call". I was told to call either he or Jill back at 1-800-606-6602. I did this and left a message with Jill. She called me back and left a message restating the above. The caller ID number when she called me back was: 219-940-3758. It all sounded too good to be true and I decided to do an internet search and ended up here. It's too bad they feel they need to deceive folks with false sweepstakes entry scam techniques - so unethical.

Got the call from Jill at 800-606-6602. Same line; "finalist to win a Lincoln navigator or $45K in cash, other prizes incluse $2,500 in cash and a 32 inch TV". I never enter contests and the fact that my "entry" was 18 months old smelled the scam immediately. Left my name and number and "Jill" called back withing 15 minutes. By the way, her number is 219-940-3758 which is a land line in Hobart, Indiana. Most likely Jill's home?

Jill told me I had to listen to a 90 minute sales pitch at "Way to go Travel" in Plymouth, MA. I called them.....very unprofessional on the phone. I mentioned Jill's name and the guy that answered the phone stated "it's probebly one of dozens of promotional companies we've hired"!

It's a sales pitch for a vacation club. You'll prbably get a prize which'll be 3 days in Gary, Indiana at the Motel 6 on the highway!

I'm reporting the whole scam to the Mass. Attorney's General Office. They're in charge of consumer protection and, based upon previous experience, I think Way to go Travel will be hearing from them!

Same message as the people before me, I was supposedly picked from a sweepstakes I entered and guaranteed to win one of 4 prizes. I do randomly enter sweeps, so I decided to look into it a bit first. I'm glad I learned more about it from other people that posted here. Now that I know what the call is about I don't plan on calling Jill back. I feel bad knowing that Jill has taken such a deceptive job, she must be desperate. I'm on the national "do not call" list, so I'm not sure why this company is calling me, perhaps there is some loophole in the do not call law?? I would like to know how they can call me if I'm on the do not call list, but I don't want to waste any more of my time on this issue.

I also received a call from a "Jill" who stated that "you guys" entered a contest to win a Lincoln Navigator and that it could have been submitted as long as 18 months ago.  The number on my caller ID is 219-940-3759 which is listed to a Jillian Minton in Hobart Indiana.  I am instructed to call 800-606-6602 to find out how to claim one of the four top prizes.   I found this website and will not be returning the call.
