Ditto...How do I put an end to this nuisance?

The company is Leading Edge Recovery. They are a collection company trying to collect. The way it works is that they buy up debt from other companies and try to collect based on the contact information they were provided. Unfortunately, it is very easy to give a fake phone number when applying for any type of credit line. All you have to do is 1)be patient, they are just as annoyed as you are, 2) call them up and tell them that you are not the person they are looking for, 3) hope it doesn't happen again...

That said, it probably will happen again so you should just save the number in your phone as 'don't pick up' or 'collection company'. that way you at least will know who's calling when they do.

These are the times we live in, it happens to a lot of people - which includes me.

I get a call almost everyday!! He leaves a message that says, "This is Ruben Schwartz. It is important that you call me at 1-800-608-5429".
Thats all he says. He doesn't ask for anybody, say why he's calling or even what company he's calling from!

We are getting up to 15 calls a day, sometimes within an hour and we have told them numerous times to remove our number from the list. They keep asking for a Mary Kennedy.

why is Ruben schwartz allowed to do this. someone should get a rope.

I get 1 to 4 calls a week from this telemarketer - but today's at 12:15pm was modified. The print out is called '800 Services Inc' Now the message says:
"Hello, This is Ruben Schwartz - there is an important matter to be discussed with you.  Press 1 to be connected or call 1 800-608-5429.  THIS IS NOT A SALES CALL.  There is an important matter to be discussed with you. This is Ruben Swartz."

I have telephone ID and now when I see 800-608-5429  I briefly pick up the call and without saying anything, hang up again.  When I am not at home - of course my message service picks up.  ugh...

He never asks for anyone specific, and always leaves the same message.  I have no idea who he is or what he wants, but I am not in the habit of returning calls to Telemarketers.  If he does indeed have business with me, or anyone else in my household, he should leave a business name, and the nature of his business.  The law in my state requires that debt collectors, identify their company and the nature of the call, without revealing the specifics of the case, also they are only allowed to call one time, in a 7 day period.  This idiot calls daily, and leaves the same message, daily.

Called it back, said his name was "Robert Carmichael." When he repeated it, he stopped to remember which name he was using. What a joke. I do not have debit he's trying to collect or anything. I just got this number and only one person has it, so its not for me. Its most likely not for anyone who gets this message.

*debt not debit. It's the same voice for both names.

Persistent calls by a machine with a prerecorded message from "Ruben Schwartz".

We have been getting call from this Stan Shank. He is not nice at all. He is also call a 90 year old man and his wife. Yesterday he call them and told them that he had a few men out side of their home watching the place. Put him in a panic and we had to take him to the hospital last night. (he has a heart problem and had open heart surgery) this has to stop. The person that he is trying to get a hold of does not live with his grandfather or with his parents. We have told him this time and time again but it does not stop (Stan Shank ext-1302) My son has been working with another nice lady in the company. I do not want this man call any more. If something happens to my father because of this mans calls, then i will come after him and the company. The numbers that he is call is 217-328-1696 and 217-344-8225, yes we are related but James P. Barden pays his own bills (not the hole family)

Just had this call today.  ID said "toll free 800-608-5429" and that was it.  I let the machine take it and usually they hang up when the machine answers.  This one left the "Ruben Schwartz" message.  I was going to call back but I didn't call back for fear of it being those "call-back" scams where you return a call to the "1-800" number and get charged $500.00.

Ruben has started calling AGAIN!!  Wonder what would happen if we all started returning his call ALL AT ONCE AND HANG-UP? It's an 800 number so it shouldn't cost us anything, but it may cost hime AND his phone line would be kept so busy no call could go out. Just had another thought, record his message and whenever anyone answers, play it back to the and then hang up.
This would work as long as everyone spends a couple minutes two or three times a day. Keep them too bust to bother us. And it would make you feel good getting even.
Heck do the same thing to those 8xx numbers that call and hang-up.
Sort of a "dial tone revolt".

He has left 15 messages on our phone and we are a high school. what a loser.

I had a message on my phone from this number.  Caller ID said "Leading Edge."  It was the same message Cheryl above reported with Ruben Schwartz, not a sales call, etc.  I dialed the number just to see, and a lady answered, asking if I was somebody I was not (a different name ~ she must have known it from my caller ID as I didn't even say a word).  I said "no, that person does not live here and I have never heard of her."  She then asked me if I was on a certain road here in the city where I live.  I told her, "no, I live on ***** road."  She then asked again if I was any relation to this person (we had the same last name).  I told her, "no," and she thanked me and hung up.  Hopefully, that's the end of it?!?  We'll see!!

Rueben Shwartz called again and I called the 1800 number back to it. I was so angry. A woman answered the phone and was very sketchy and would not tell me what she wanted. They all sounded black--not Indian. I called back and a black man answered the phone and asked me for my phone number and then said he was looking for Lisa Emms. I'm of course, not Lisa Emms and this is a prank call. WHAT does he want? How can this company be in business? He said "this is a personal matter for Lisa Emms," and he wouldn't tell me anything else. I asked for my number to be removed and he said "It has already been removed." I recorded the call and if they ever call me again, I will report them..

Received an automated call from "Rueben Shwartz" - "not a sales call".  I called back and asked for Rueben.  The operator started asking me questions (what was my name, what number received the call).  I did not give her information, but then asked who they were.  She put me on hold.  I then hung up.  Hopefully that is the end of it.  We'll see.

Calls every other day - it's an auto record message. I have tried repeatedly to get them to stop. They don't!

These people have called me also. The first time was just a while ago. The "person" stated that her name was brenda..when in fact she  sounded like a brendan.SMH. Yes I have outstanding debt. Sadly I owe Chase Bank 50 bucks. Shame.

This Ruben Sanchez guy is calling my cell phone. Don't know how he got the number but he is driving me crazy.  I never answer but get the same message three or four times a month.  Does anyone know a way to block numbers on a cell phone?

I kept getting phone calls from this Ruben guy.  I don't even owe any debt, so I kept ignoring him.  However, I keep up with my credit report.  There was an credit inquiry from Leading Edge...I have NEVER even spoke to this person or even answered the phone...how in the world was he able to pull up my credit report???  I didn't even know the two were connected until I just got another UNKNOWN call from this Ruben Schwartz person so I looked up online to see if this was some kind of scam.  Well...it is!!!  I would advise everyone getting these calls to check your credit report to see if he is digging around in your business without your permission!!!

Just read on one of the EM's that someone got this call on a new phone. Same here, the first call that came in on my new cell was from this "Reuben Swartz" character. Very weird.

Same as the other's have reported. I have no idea what this guy wants, but will never call him back. What a nuisance! Calls each day, and we are on all DNC lists.

I get called several times a week. A recording says to press 1 to speak to someone, then tells me to call 1-800-608-5429 to discuss an urgent matter, and states that it's not a sales call.

I got a call today but it was a lady who left the msg.  Never said who they were with and my cell showed the number as anomous.  Like I am gonna answer that LOL.  THey can keep calling and I can keep clicking ignore on my phone.

If someone really wants to talk to me they will leave a real msg stating who and what account they are speaking of.

Persistent unprofessional messages left on my cell phone using precious minutes.  Stupid messages saying this is not a sales call, or this is a very important call.  If its so important, why is there no one to respond to on this number but rather a fax line tone.   Again, using precious minutes on my cell.  Maybe they should pay my bill.
