i work at these places i know the scams the computer is only worth 24.99 its a 2.0 software 7 inch they are refubished and never work when you call to complain we give you a number that no one ever answers

the vacation ends up costing you thousands

i work at these scam places. the convos are recorded dont call back twice if they dont tell you that you are going for a 2 hour tour to a trvel club or timeshare you can go to the office complain and you get the computer for free without a tour they can be sued for false advertising im at passport holidays in daytona beach we work for festiva and grand discovery all the vacations are a scam they dont tell you that you pay additional fees for the vacations they say taxes are due when you set up your vaca but realistically you pay hundreds 14 after you recieve the voucher or its no good

Just got the tablet scam today. I thought since I'm so close to Portland I'd check it out, then I googled and we all know now that I'm not going. SCAM, thanks for posting everyone.  Cheers

I just called and demanded to be removed as well ... was told they can not remove me because I have signed up on the internet or at a trade show or similar promotion(s) and it is those folks who indeed have the list ...

the place one calls is a "fullfillment center" ... they try and "sign you up"

the mailers come from an entirely different place ... most likely a printing company that does direct mailing (campaign season crap) and the llist of names is provided to them by the company we allegedly had the initial contact with ...

my local BBB said it was probably Publisher's Clearinghouse because of the time of the year ...

I'm trying to teach my kids about scams. So I had my son call and set up a meeting to get our Free "new apple ipad or a new amazon kindle or a new android 4.0 touchpad. They also said we will get 2 round-trip airfares and a 2 night hotel stay at a Marriott plus.

We are going to Fort Mill, SC tomorrow evening to claim our prize...If I don't get murdered I will report back what this is really all about. Wish me luck.

I got the same letter and they told me to come to the Weston Hotel at 365 Canal Street suite 1500 at 5:45 on the twenty third and be prepared to spend 2 hrs of time, with my husband where they would tell me about vacations and then I would get my New touchpad computer with android software. I've sort of been planning on going, and hoping that I get the computer.  I think they're selling time shares. If I drag my husband there and they don't give us anything unless I buy something, I will be pissed because my husban will be mad at me for forcing him to go, and I'd have to have someone work for me too. They qualified us at $100,000 per year. After reading these posts I'm sorry I gave them my info. Should I go any way?

Just recieved a notice saying I have a Free Android Tablet Computer all I need to do is call:

Knew it was a scam but wanted t alert others that the same scammers are changing the gift
offer to Free Android.

It looks like they have moved from cruises to tablet computers.  Same phone number, different come-on.  Got a fancy post card with a West Palm Beach bulk permit.  "It's yours.  Compliments of us!  Call Today!  Pick It Up Tomorrow!"

DO NOT BE FOOLED!! IT'S A SCAM.

Received in mail a coupon from number above to received "FREE" touchpad tablet computer complete w/Android software. After goggling number found that this number is a scam...

Said under no obligation to purchase anything; but bring major credit card and picture ID and they will give me a free touchpad.  Only thing they ask is to give them some business in future and pass info of travel agency along to friends and family.

Notice that return address was vague and no mention of company on advertisement anywhere.  Not a good sign...

Thank you for taking time to post this.  I too received a "FREE" New Touchpad Tablet COmputer complete w/Android software!  Too many vague offers circulating.  Called the number and am to meet with these folks on Tuesday for a 2-hours so-called tour...BUT thanks to you; will NOT be taking that trip...  Appreciate folks like you...Be Blessed...My mom always told me that NOTHING is FREE...There is a PRICE to Pay...

Just got a mailer today from these jokers. "Your Brand New ANDROID TOUCHPAD TABLET!"  The picture was of an Apple IPAD with Microsoft Internet Explorer on the screen. Normally junk mail doesn't bother me and just goes straight to the round file, but now there just being @5535. Do they really think people are that numb? Unfortunately, there are allot of folks out there that will fall for it.

I got a "complimentary 4 day/3 night cruise" around Around Florida. The mailer said it was from Palm Beach, Fl and was on a nice looking postcard (apparently they are upping their game). After reading the reviews, I decided to call the number and ask what the company is. He said he would tell me after I verified my number first. I told him no, and asked again. He said I can tell you once you give me your confirmation number off the card. I told him no and demanded to know what company he works for, he told me he cant tell me that. WTF?  I just hung up.... He said he works for 30 travel agencies. Umm, why would your call center work for 30 different agencies. Wouldn't that be a conflict of interest. If places actually do that, that seems shady enough in itself.

This is the 3rd one I have received from this above phone number.  Wanted ID info,one credit card, your checkbook, and drivers license.  I set the meeting, but never showed.  They must be some real NITWITS.  If I don't show at one meeting, why would you continue to call and set me up again.  Now I have a 4th, and I really BLEW THEM AWAY when I said there are only 5 LEGAL items used for I.D.

I have been lending money to buy or build homes for 35 years, why do you need my checking account, it has no picture of me on it, credit card, it has no picture of me on it.  They were at a total loss for words when I quoted the legal forms of ID.  Yes they are DUMB and DUMBER.  I am so glad I found this site, I still get calls daily but you have now given me info. to create a new message for my answering machine.  I have 3 different win forms and will send them to our attorney general.  I did not get promoted or given a VP title for being dumb as well.  Thank you to all who posted, because usually I just shred this stuff and go on about my business.  We will never be ahead of the crooks, but we will be the wiser if we all report this to a site where the less fortunate can check out and not loose anything that they really could not afford to loose to begin with.

Just got nearly the same "offer" today 10/1 in NC. Says "You will receive a New touch pad tablet computer with android software and also a 7 night vacation w/in the continental US. Has a "tracking number" but no company name. The outside of the envelope just says " It's yours. Compliments of Us! Call Today! Pick it up Tomorrow!"
-who the heck is "us"?  !!! Looked fishy so googled the number-it will now be appropriately placed in file 13.
One thing interesting-if you check the small print on the back of the enclosed card at one point it states "Andriod is not affiliated with this offer, but they are a major supplier." Android is mentioned numerous times throughout the flier but then is misspelled only in the small print on the back? Hmmmmmm....

I just got one of the postcards with the "Touchpad Tablet Computer with new Android Software!" and 7 night vacation offer.  I had to Google the phone number and here ya go.  NC, 9/29/2012

Interesting to note: The Frenchman isn't really a hotel; it's a "nest" these scammers operate out from....and it's purported to have ownership ties linked to "organized crime groups": Imagine that!!

And the Grand Discovery ( CONsultants ) "business" is part of "the network"; these crooks get around, mainly operating the Southern region ( La., Miss., Ala, Ga, Fla and S.C. ** their HQ is located in S.C. ** ).  They have a website that's as bogus as Grand Discovery is as a "vacation reservation service".

I can imagine their BBB grade IF they even have one, is way below "F". Evidently, they have ensared a few victims; best YOU aren't one of them.

You're here because you either received a call or some flimsy piece of mail that looks suspicious; well, it IS and by checking out forewarnings from us all here, hopefully your tossing that mail into the trash ( shredder is recommended ) will show those con artist thugs they waste THEIR money trying to HOOK you!!

You are the first person that said you went to the presentation.  I knew it was a timeshare presentation when I received the card, But, like you I like to get free stuff.

I got a postcard yesterday and it said to call 1-800-610-0571. Thanks you all I know that this is a SCAM!!! It was for a 5 day/4 night cruise!!!
