I just found out that the foundation for american veterans only gives $.06 on the dollar. I almost sent them a check for $30.00 , because the man on the phone my me feel so bad if I didn't send some donation. And now to come to thing about it I donate to them in the spring , but he said it had been a year. To say the least I'm not sending  the check. So when they call to ask where my donation is I will tell them they not getting any money from me and why,and if they don't take my name off their list I will report them to the FCC. From now  on I will check with the Charity Navigator to see if they are a true charity.

I receive phone calls from this this number several times per day.  From 9 am on Saturday mornings (sometimes I am sleeping) until 9:30 pm.  I finally answered tonight.  I apparently made a donation a while back.  I told them to remove me from their call list and that I didn't appreciate being called so many times.  The caller responded with, "That's because we're not able to get ahold of you." And I answered, "Because you call me on Saturdays at 9 am and I decided to avoid 800 numbers as a result."  And he then said very rudely, "Whatever!" and hung up on me.

Although this cannot be stopped by "Do Not Call" since it is considered charity and not telemarketing... it absolutely must be stopped.

The calling party is Associated Community Services or ACS!. They are located in Michigan. Charities are exempt from the no call list and their third party agencies are required to NOT call you on behalf of each "charity" when that charity is told not to call.

I'm planning on reporting them to my state agencies for fraud. Today I got 4 calls which I did not answer.

I am also adding them to my phone carrier call block list.

So this number calls my house a whole s**t load. I've heard many times that its just a number that many organizations use. I don't know how that works, but its bu***hit. So I called it back and it was some veterans donation line. I have no problem donating money, but f*** organizations that use harassment to get money. I don't give a flying f*** who you are, no one should be harassed like these damn people do.

This number calls us multiple times every single day! We have something set so that it automatically hangs up on them after the first ring, so you'd think that after we've hung up on them about 200 times they'd realize we want them to go away. That foreign language thing sounds like a good idea. :)

This number calls many times each day and is annoying.  Fortunately, I have caller ID and don't answer it, but I wish they would stop.  I know they're the Veterans group, but I don't choose to donate to them in lieu of others, so I'm not sure what to do other than not answer.

Called and he said "I WANNA TALK TO HER. POORS."  I asked what it was about and he shouted like a cranked up druggie "I ALREADY TOLD YOU . POORS" I told him I did not like his tone, to take us off the list and not to call here again, before I could hang up he screamed "YOU THINK YOU CAN GET AWAY WITH THAT POORS.  I then got the phone clicked off.  I guess this scam is so bad that they have to use stoned out junkies who are high to do the calls now!

I have recieved numerous call from the American Veterans at this number as well.  I had already provided a donation yet still received calls.  I no longer provide donations to anyone calling.  I simply tell the caller I provide charity donations through the Combined Federal Campaign.

If you are a Verizon phone user check out their IOBI service.  It provides callerid display on your computer, call forwarding, even prescheduled, listen to your voice mail from any computer and best of all, call block!  This number is now on my call block.  It displays on my screen that they are calling, they receive a message stating we do not accept their calls.  It's less than $5 a month.  It's been nice turning my phone off at night and blocking these annoying calls!

I keep getting calls from this number.  I don't answer them and last night after we'd gone to bed I got another one.  I picked up and hung up immediately.
I have a nasty electronic device I am going to keep by the phone.  It's a voice altering noise amplifier.  Next time this joker calls I will answer and let 'er rip.  Maybe that will give them something to really talk about.
I am sick and tired of phony charities calling 4 and 5 times per evening up til 10pm and starting in at 7am in the mornings.  Since we can't use the DNC list or even request to be removed I strongly suggest everyone just pick up when they call and scream as loud as you can in the phone & then hang up.  They might get the message

The caller was rude when I put her on the spot and asked what it was about.  She never mentioned the veterans group.  Because of this kind of behavior, even though there are veterans of several wars in my family, I would never contribute the them.  A pity...they're shooting themselves in the foot.

These punks call me every single day, 3-4-5 times or more per day!!  This last time I set the phone down and could hear the creep laughing really loudly.  I've told these people to stop calling, to remove me from any lists they may have with my number on it and they still call, constantly.  I just filed a report with the FCC and also re-registered my number with the Do Not Call registry.  I have a feeling they will just ignore all of the above.

They call our house *at least* 8 times a day. I've asked them to remove us from their list and all they do is argue or belittle me. My mother donated money to them, in the past. It's a mistake we'll never make again.

Once after asking to be taken off their list they called back not 20 minutes later (it was obviously a different person) and said their records showed they'd never called before.

You shouldn't have to get harassing, angry phone calls so many times a day just because you were trying to do something nice.

also google 866 357 6119 - I believe they are the sme people (i use the term loosly) There are details about who they are and how much money they actually make in this family business. With salary and bonuses and business expense write offs, they are making big $$$.
You can call them back, listen to the recorded inventation to leave a message, then leave a message telling them about your displeasure with them. They can't be collecting $$$ while they are listening to voice mail, so make the message a long one and do it often. If they answer, ask them about the charity and how much goes to the charity they work for and who in the charity that you can contact. Keep them on the phone as long as you can. They can't collect $$$$ if they are busy on the phone with you.
If they do not give it to you, let them know that you will contact the Atterney General and have them investigated under the Patrioat Act as suspected of collecting money for terrorist.
In any event call other government agencies like the FCC. They can't make $$$ if they are filling out Government forms and ansering interrigations and listing to voice mail on their phones. They have to listen to them all to find out if there is a donation on one of them.
So give them somethig to do beside pestering decient people

Calls several times a day.  Some days they will call, answering machine will pick up, they hung up and call back immediately.  This happened 3 times in a row today, but that does not count the three times they called tonight or the  2 or 3 other times they have called during the day today.  I am sick of this.  It is 9 pm and they are still calling!  Sometimes my caller ID does not keep does not document every call so I might not even have accurate count of how many times they have called!

This person from Veterans called 3 times today.  I had just been reading posts so on the third call I decided to answer.  He did identify himself and said that I had said last year that if they only called once during the holidays I would contribute.  That is not exactly what I said.  I did tell these people who call for donations that I do not wish to be called 2/3 times per year.  I told him I had made all the donations I could make for the year  and he said, "Surely within  28 days I could come up with $15."  I said you know sometimes things change and I cannot do anymore this year,  but thanked him for calling and hung up.  Don't know if I'll get anymore calls but I will stick to my story.  I have kept track for the past  3-4 years and charities call about every 2 months or so.  I keep a list near the phone on who calls, whether I accept or decline and am just going have to stick to my guns.

16 Oct 2007.  2 calls in one hour from TOLL FREE CALL 1-800-611-8300.  Recently reported 888-398-2271 on a similar site.  That # has been calling since 2006.  In 2006, 888-398-2271 said they were also a veterans' charity, calling from DC and needed to send care packages to troops in Iraq.  They asked me to check out their website and it looked legitimate.  In 2006, I could find zero online information about that # from others.  However, their donation form arrived in the US mail from Springfield, MO and not DC.  Apparently, our unlisted # that is on the state and national no call lists is being sold out to telemarketers!

This number has been calling 5x daily for the past six months.  I finally googled the # and saw all net traffic on this number.  They actually call and leave a message on my answering service saying "Mrs. ..... this is about the check".  Since I haven't written a check in a few years [debiting is a wonderful tool] I knew it had to be BS.  However, it's really irking me to no end .... if I had been writing checks then I'd be freaking out.  I can just imagine how my mother would react to getting a message like that on her answering machine.  Quite frankly this harassment, as far as I'm concerned and I wish there was a way for it to cease and desist.
