I got the same fuzzy message on my Sprint phone that then got clear at the end and then asked to call back within I think 76 hours.  I am not going to call the number back.

Got the same garbled message asking me to call 866-853-4932.  I did not call.

Yup. Same here. The caller ID said 800-614-9018 but the message, terribly garbled in the beginning (interesting, eh?) said to call 866-853-4932 within x2 hours. No names of individuals or companies were intelligible. Crafty.

Someone called on my sprint/nextel phone with that 800 614-9018 number but when I answered they hung up.  I perhaps stupidly, called back and got a recording saying all representatives were busy and to hold.  I hung up then.

I wonder what the deal is.

I received a message from this number on my Sprint cell phone. Message was left on August 5, 2007.  The beginning of the message was terribly garbled, but it then clears to a woman asking me to please return the call to 866 -853-4932.

My phone didn't even ring. Their BS garbled message went right into my voicemail. Now, I do plan on leaving them because I hate low down sneaky garbage like this. I thought it was my bank calling because I have a credit card that has been lost in the mail. Sprint.....you are a dumbass.

Received the same call as everyone else.  Four or five times over the lasr two months.  Changing providers as Sprint fails to provide service to many fringe areas my wife travels for her work.

Same story for me. This number called me twice in 2 weeks, I did not return the call. The static in the beginning didn't make me curious to call back. I didn't know it was Sprint but I'm glad I know now. I put the number in my selective call blocker on my phone. Hopefully they'll back off already.

Same situation as many folks already reported---call from 800-614-9016, garbled voicemail became clearer requesting a callback to 866-853-4932.  I may be approaching my 2 year contract with Sprint ending, as I've been getting a lot of offers via snailmail, but plan to ditch them anyway.  The service has been horrible, and customer service is non-existant.

I had one call to my cellphone from this number. Then, out of nowhere, from my parents house where my bill doesn't get sent to, they get ALOT of phonecalls from this number. It is ridiculous if it is indeed from Sprint itself. I will cancel my account and go to court to not pay those ridiculous fees if it ends up being from Sprint.

I received a message from this number on my Sprint cell phone. Message was left on July 20, 2007.  The beginning of the message was terribly garbled, but it then clears to a woman asking me to please return the call to 866 -853-4932. This is the same as what William posted on 19 Jun 2007.

I received a message from this number on my Sprint cell phone. Message was left on May 29, 2007.  The beginning of the message was terribly garbled, but it then clears to a woman asking me to please return the call to 866 -853-4932. I didn't return the call but reported the message and the 866 call back number to FCC using the FCC online form. Later I found this web site for the 800-614-9018 Caller ID number and learned from messages above that it was from Sprint.  I have been a Sprint customer for over 5 years although I never renewed my original one-year contract and operate on a month to month basis. I receive numerous written and email offers for the 10% discount and phone instrument updates if I would enter into a two-year agreement, but I never accept them. This is the first contact by phone and such a devious method that I plan to cancel my Sprint service.

I received a call on my Sprint cell phone.  Just music playing in the back ground.  I wish they'd just offer me a free 'effin phone.  I secretly think they hate me as my bill is on the cheap side.  Tons of minutes for only $29.99 a month.  My contract is up for renewal...don't want 10% off...just want a @#(*@!)!@ new phone. lol!

so much background noise that it sounds like the call is coming from an airport. constant laughing and garbled talk where I made out the words "catholic" and "christianity" from a male with a very nasal voice. This call ocurred at 8:40pm ET on 5/02/07. I have many "missed" calls from this number but this is the first voice mail that I have received from this number. This is harassment.

I have gotten numerous calls from this number.  I make it a policy not to answer numbers I don't know and this one is annoying.  I will not sign up with Sprint again because of this and numerous other things.

I've been getting the 800-614-9018 phone call, periodically, over a two month span.  I've never answered it nor do I intend to call the other number it references.  My contract is ending this May.  I've been happy with the service but, this marketing procedure is annoying.  I will be contacting Sprint to tell them to knock it off if they want me to continue being a customer.

Okay, I just spoke to someone from Account Services (called corporate at 703-433-4000).  He went into my account to disable the direct calling.  Hopefully this helps some of you guys.

Okay, an update.  I just got tired of the 800-614-9018 number calling me and not saying anything when I answer the phone.  So I called that number back, and a "Robert" answered.  I guess the system automatically pulled up my account, 'cuz he knew my name when I called.  He offered me a 10% off of something if I renewed my account.  I told him that I've already switched providers, and that they need to stop calling me...and I GOT HUNG UP ON.  About to make a call to Sprint Corporate to file a complaint.  This is ridiculous.

Got a call from this number today.  Didn't answer it, and checked the voicemail later.  It's garbled as previous victims had stated.  It asks to call 866-853-4932.  No thanks. I think I may leave Sprint just for crap like this.

Missed calls from this number twice now.  Looked it up on Google and another site references it as a phone scam number that attempts to install a virus onto your cell phone by starting the phone's web browser through the phone call and directing it to a website.  We are not staying with Sprint anyway so not interested in 10% off anything, so I'm not answering this number just to be on the safe side.

I just got the same message...all garbled at first then super clear saying to call back at the 866 number in 72 hours.  I am also nearing the end of my contract with Sprint and have been receiving solicitations to get 10% off my bill if I sign another 2 year contract.

I got a message from this number on my Sprint cell phone. Message was left on Monday, April 9th.  The beginning of the message was terribly garbled, the only thing I could make out was "we've had a problem processing..." then the message clears to a woman asking me to please return the call to an 866 number within 72 hours.  My Sprint contract expired 2 weeks ago so based on the other reports I'm sure this is an attempt to get me to sign up for another 2 years.
Pretty effective marketing ploy, because the "garbled" portion of the message leads one to think some vital information is missing and that perhaps this is a call from a bank or other sort of business.

I also got a call today from this number.  Did not answer.  But I also have Sprint, and this week received a solicitation from sprint for 10% off to sign a contract.  My guess is that those who get these calls either don't have a contract (like me) or are near the end of their existing contract.

I received an automated response from this number which I could not understand due to the phone being up too loud.  When I called back, it appears that they were calling to offer me 10% off my sprint bill for the next two years by renewing my contract.
