They call every day, in the morning and in the evening. I have asked numerous times to not call anymore and tell them I'm on the do not call list. But, they just called again. It's so ridiculous!

These calls keep coming even though nobody ever responds when you answer. If you don't answer, it leaves a blank voicemail message that has to be deleted 8-10 times a time. I don't see how some people can tell where they are coming from; all it says on the Caller ID is "800 service." Oddly enough, the calls stopped in the summer and then came back again. This is a landline, not an Internet phone, and the phone is listed on the do not call list. What in the heck is going on?

These people are calling my parents and telling them that I have them listed as references and that they need to confirm some information!  Please help!  This has me very concerned, anyone think identity theft?  I'm calling my bank and all my loans on Monday and flagging my credit reports for a fraud look out! They inferred they might be a collection agency for student loans?  My parents have not picked up, but they did leave messages.

I to have been getting 800 service messages from 1-877-412-0732
After seeing the previous message I checked my phone it has the caller block feature. YAHHHH. My phone is Panasonic KX-TG7431. Its wireless with 3 phones and I was just ignoring the 800-Service calls ( the phone speaks the caller name so you dont have to go look to see whos calling ).
These 2 features are well worth the money. ($70.00 at best buy)

The number I get is 877-254-7652. I changed to Panasonic wireless phones (model KX-TGA642) which have "Call Block" built in their firmware. It rings once and then gives them a busy signal when they are set to block. If an 800 number leaves no VM on their first call, I immediately add them to the "Call Block" list. Thanks Panasonic! They do take a while before they give up but you only get one ring.

I've had the same problem for months. If you do stay on the line and wait for them to start talking they are very rude and if they dont get who they want they hang up on you immediately. I told them im on the do not call list and they told me directly that they dont care. There has to be something where we can block all calls no matter what the number is that has the caller id name as "800 service"..

Okay guys. This article explains it all. No matter what you do, it's just going to get

worse. Do you sense a theme to everyone's problems here? Internet Phone.

http://articles.techrepublic.com.com/5100-22_11-5303692.html

These 'people' get your number and call the same way they get your email address and fill

your junk folder. Ever open a junk email and find it completely blank? (Answering a call

and there's no one there..)

Or try blocking the sender and you get the same crap from another fake address? (Blocking

one fake phone number will lead to calls from a new one.)

Worst of all, ever try actually opening a junk email and clicking on the "unsubscribe my

email address" link only to find ten new junk senders have replaced the one you got rid of?

(What do you think is happening when you actually CALL BACK one of those bogus numbers?)

Whether you're using Comcast, Verizon, Qwest, Vonage, Time Warner, or anything else...if it

uses an Internet connection, they are going to keep on coming. Report them all you want.

They don't have to abide by the Do Not Call rules. They're not CALLING, they're spamming.

Welcome to the 21st Century.

We?ve been receiving calls from 800-service (Caller ID) for months now. Everyone in the house just ignores the calls and lets them go to voice mail. Of course they never leave a message. Lately it has gotten very annoying as the call 3 or 4 days a week, 5 or 6 times a day. A few times I did answer the phone with the intention of giving the person on the other end a verbal battery but there never seemed to be any one on the other line. I?ve reviewed my caller ID and noticed that they use a host of numbers to call making effort to block the call very difficult.

Has any one tried calling their phone company and complaining? If so, what was the response you got

Thanks for your posting.  Please encourage everyone who is contacted by this organization to file a complaint with their state's Attorney General's office.  By doing so, we can collectively put an end to the harrassing and intimidating tactics employed by this company across the US.

This number keeps calling and even if I answer there is the delay so I hang up.  My husband answered it last week and it was like above a fund for the children of policemen who have died in the line of duty.  We told them we do not pledge or donate over the phone if they want to send us something they can.  Rudely, they just hung up on him and now are calling again.  In the first place they are not from any CO policeman's organization, they are a telemarketing company.  How much of my donation would go to them and not to the charity.  We choose to give directly to a charity of our choice.

Nixon sues California police charity
By Bill Smith
ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH
07/25/2007

A California police charity that says it helps the families of police officers killed in the line of duty has repeatedly used "harassing and intimidating tactics" to defraud Missouri donors, Attorney General Jay Nixon said Tuesday.

In a lawsuit filed in St. Louis Circuit Court, Nixon accuses telemarketers of Police Protective Fund of bullying Missourians, especially the elderly, into giving to the charity.

The suit says the charity took in more than $5.9 million nationally in donations last year, with just a total of $37,000 going to the families of deceased officers. Of the $5.9 million, $3.7 million went to pay the expenses of professional fundraisers. Much of the rest of the charity's income went to pay salaries, payroll taxes, rent and a variety of other expenses.

Police Protective Fund, based in Hollywood, was founded by Phil LeConte and David Dierks, who met while both were students at the University of Illinois.

Also named in the suit is the American Association of Police Officers, which Nixon says is the administrative charity for Police Protective Fund and receives management fees from charitable donations raised by Police Protective Fund.

The suit accuses Police Protective Fund of violating Missouri consumer protection laws. It says that potential donors solicited by phone are not told that benefits to officers' families are capped at a total of $40,000 a year.

The suit says that the attorney general's office has received complaints from the public, alleging that telemarketers for the charity have been belligerent and rude and "would not take 'no' for an answer, even when consumers said they were on a fixed income and could not afford to donate."

Some said the callers told them that unless they contributed, "you may call the police one day and they won't respond."

The suit asks that the court stop the charity from making fraudulent solicitations, that the charity be forced to make full restitution to all consumers who have been defrauded and that the charity pay several other fines and penalties.

"Abusive telemarketing calls will not be tolerated in Missouri," Nixon said.

Records from 2005 list LeConte as a director and executive officer of Police Protective Fund with a salary of $112,652.

Police Protective Fund and related groups such as the American Association of Police Officers and the Junior Police Academy have been the focus of legal action in several states.

A call to the offices of the three organizations was not returned Tuesday.

Same Scam Spam Scum that won't take you off their list even when requested at least a dozen times. "Charitable & 'non-profit Hemorrhoids...err...Organization.

800-614-7871
888-211-0786
888-795-0004
877-290-0026

I have been painstakingly polite in saying "NO" in as many ways as seems necessary with these experts in harrassment [emphasis on 2nd syllable] So, since I've requested NUMEROUS times my # removed from their list and they refuse to honor my request, I have ZERO qualms now with 'double clicking' "talk", so to speak. (without actually speaking) . I pick up & INSTANTLY disconnect. Apparently they're very slooooooow in getting on board the clue train. Just goes to show you how WASTEFUL they are with contributions anyway.  The continue calling people who've made it ABUNDANTLY clear they will NEVER EVER donate.

I think I might buy a whistle to keep handy by the phone! hehehe

They call at least twice a day. First, around the lunch hour and second, well into the late night evening hours. They leave no messages and because I don't pick-up the call, they call every day...and this has been going on for a few months now.
