They Called us today stating we have unpaid court tickets up to 988.63 one haven't been up there for 8 years and two in order to buy the house I'm in last year I paid everything off including all old tickets etc.... and have proof that was paid fully. but instead of the 800 she gave me its original number that comes on caller ID is a 115 to which is out of the country!

Fake Scammers in Texas I am in Oregon I have no court debts and besides the county courts said they don't use collection agencies they will mail you a notice to pay or appear and if you fail to do so they  can arrest you.  These people rent mini mall spaces do their dirty deeds  then when they get caught they bug out move to another place and start all over

This is a legit payment center. It is not a collection agency.  I just spoke to a nice woman named Sonya from the 1-800-606-0166 number because it turned up on my bank statement. They are the central payment center for central Texas area municipal courts.  If you owe an outstanding fee for court, ticket, probation, etc.or have to pay a surcharge fee for excessive tickets (as my son does), you will get a call or mail from them.  FYI, they can access your name and charges you owe.  If they don't have your name, you don't have anything to worry about.  They were able to search all four of our names but my son's didn't come up until I told her it was for a license surcharge...those are handled by another department within the company, she had to transfer me.       i'm sure these people talk to enough angry people that they are on the defensive all the time.  Sonya was kind of guarded until she realized that I wasn't an angry caller.

I receive this letter containing this number (800)616-0166, it states on the letter that i have a ticket for speeding w/o a licence..i was worried because why will i gonna get a ticket and if i don't pay i will gonna be arrested ......i felt why since i don't even drive and i don't even have a car and i haven't drive yet....so i called the police and even the dps how reliable this is and they told me that it could be scam.....so what i did i try to search out this in the internet and i realize that i am not alone with this matter...this is their address MUNICIPAL SERVICES BUREAU using a P.O. That's exactly the point, nobody owes these people any money. They buy your "debt", have no proof that you actually owe them anything, and then try to collect on it using scare tactics. They add arbitrary fees and threaten to charge you interest on the money they added to whatever debt they bought. There's nothing about this practice that is honorable or worth respecting.

If you go to thier office in Austin Texas and pay in cash they do not give back change. They billed me $5.60 for a toll violation on a trailer I had sold years before. I gave the clerk a ten dollar bill and he kept the change. There is a sign on thier collection window that says no change made. The scumbag that runs this company is Bruce Cummings aka Gila LLC. If you want to protest these sorts of companies then you should contact the contract procurement of the agency that they are collecting for and ask that thier contract be cancelled.

I just quit there after 2 1/2 months of hell and everything you said is 100% correct.  The absolute worse company I have ever worked for, they know nothing of human kindness or consideration.  In the entire time I worked there, not one of my fellow employees ever said "they liked their job"  everyone one of them was very unhappy.   The management talks out of both sides of their month, they say one thing and do another and if like me, you are someone who never calls off or never shows up late, and cares about the person on the other end of the line, they set you up to fail in other ways.  I think your dead-on,  they use the bonuses as a "carrot" dangling them in front of your nose and then look for ways to see you don't get them.   My heart goes out to the people who work there.

4.  I called the county the ticket is from and never get a call back, if it was real wouldn't they call me back?

I got a call from them saying I owed a parking ticket in 2007.  1.  I do not now or then own a car.  2.  I have not driven since like 2005 3.  The number they gave me was for a county and town I have never been too.  I called the county number they gave me 888 564-2828 and they never called me back.  Think this is a fake.

These guys called saying I had outstanding bills in Hawaii and I live in NC, should do more research. I am turning all info over to local authorities to have them harrassed.

The phone # that popped up on my internet call waiting was not the same as the 800 number they asked me to call in the message.  Message indicated this was in regard to an important court matter.  The # that shows on internet call waiting is 800-896-5012.

You know I use to do 3rd party collection,I can't belive the laws these people are breaking. They call looking for a friend told them wrong number. The lady gave me his ss#,b-day,and the amount of the det and what It was for. I told her she broke the law her responce was no because it was a traffic ticket. Told them I use train the FDCPA laws thats when she hung up on me

I have been getting repeated calls from this company in Texas.  I called the 800 number and they have my number connected with someone in Texas.  I live in Arkansas.  The names aren't even the same.  Not sure how they got my number.

Let me tell you something about this company..I use to work for them, I recently started investigating all of the compaints they have against them. I found this site, and decided to post something that will be of help. Gila Corporation or MSB is a real company-that said it's a crap company at that. It's located in the most dangerous part of Austin, Texas. The building is gross, the people are nothing to brag about, the management are all overweight and old. They do represent the courts around some states and cities. Examples are Sedgewick County, Wichita Municipal Court, Riverside, Anchorage Muncipality, Hawaii, Austin, Texas, Plano Texas, Denton Texas, Lampasas Texas, Miami Dade Florida..among others. Miami, Austin, and Hawaii and I believe it was Anchorage are the top clients for MSB, they have more oustanding fines than any other state. You guys are all correct, they are extremely rude and uncaring. I on the other hand was not, I understand people and their situations..I didn't approve of much of what they were doing..I was there for the paycheck. They had 2 supervisors fired because they came to work DRUNK...When I heard that I was not surprised.

This place needs to be shut down, they do not give a flying s**t about you or your personal needs. They will deny you time off, they will make sure you don't get your benefits or bonuses..They are just a bunch of boozers, and fat creeps. Trust me, eventually this place will go under big time! I can't wait for that day...The number is 800-616-0166 and they also have a local Austin number if you live in Austin. They call every coast (west, east, north, and south) until 10pm. If they harrass you, tell them to put you on the DO NOT CALL LIST..They have access to it on their end..its a simple copy and paste of your telephone number to the help desk and it's done...you also need to send written notification that you want the calls to cease and decist..If they call you again, you will then be able to sue them and more than likely win a big settlement from them. Don't take their rudeness, stay firm with them and do not give in to their uncaring attitudes. Hope everyone found this more than helpful! Anymore questions, feel free to ask!

I have been getting calls from this company at least once a day for the past two weeks, The caller ID shows them as Gila Corp and the number they call from is 512-454-4757, asking to call back at this number. The address for Gila Corp and MSB both are the same address and they have the same phone numbers.

I do not owe for any outstanding tickets, I did however have a vehicle that had been repossessed and had been called by other collection agencies as well on this,  I do not answer the phone, when I get calls like these I just ignore them, by talking with them you will only confirm they have reached the person they are trying to collect from.

I am getting a call from a Mark wholenote from the federal being in commission was wondering if it is a scame or not he wants me to call a tol free # 201-204-1577 what should I do I don't want to be scamed

They called me three times today and are using my cell minutes. I have tried blocking them. I have gotten at least 10 calls in the last 2 weeks. I too, never give out my cell number. Does anyone know who we can report this to?

Well, these MSB people have called me more than once, and seeing as how I have been in at out of the court system,(alot! oops! :-) ), I actually know my rights as a citizen, and how the Wichita Courts deal with fines, court costs, etc.
Wichita courts DO NOT prosecute citizens in the city court system for not paying off all money related matters, UNTIL ALL non-financial,(see:criminal), matters are settled and FINISHED. Unless you had a very specific agreement with the judge/prosecuter/court with regards to what you owe, and when, and to who, you most likely will be notified after criminal matters are settled by your lawyer or some form of city court mailing telling you that you still owe X-amount of money to the court. If you are not contacted this way, you do still owe the money, so I would highly reccomend oneself to call the CITY CLERKS office and check on the amounted owed. NOT MSB!!!!!!!!!  
I currently am on city probation until December 31st 2008. So I have until then to pay off all my fines before somebody decides what to do to my sorry butt! LOL!
And I told the MSB callers that EXACT THING! And then they had the GALL to ask me if I had court documents to prove this point!! UM, HELLO?! OF COURSE I DO! So then I told the guy to drop dead and quit bothering me...and yet they called again 2 days later.....yeesh. So I suppose if they like to throw around threats with people and be irritating, I'll just tell them to back off, because I know they are using illegal tactics to collect money that is not theirs to claim yet anyway and I'm going to make a report to the Federal Trade Commission. I've used that threat twice in the past and it seemed to work. So I say: BRING IT ON YALL'!!! I can take it!

Just did more research and pulled this from another site... sounds like you better follow up on your tickets! I just found out that my calls have been legit since I had an outstanding ticket.

"The "Municipal Services Bureau" (MSB) is a REAL collection agency, but as others have written above, their calls do appear fraudulent and they are bullies! I do have a pending traffic court case with no fine due until a judgement is reached by the court. MSB appeared fraudulent because at first they (FRANK Ext #3262) refused to ID himself, the location of MSB, or the reason for his call except to say it was a Court matter, for a court that does not exist here in my state. Not being able to get official names correct (Frank could have used GOOGLE) is a red flag that it could be a phishing expedition for my personal info. I requested he back up what he was requesting in writing to my address that I confirmed was correct and Frank refused, so I hung up and called the State court offices and they have confirmed MSB was in error.

But do not try to tell MSB they're wrong, because they are absolute in that the are never wrong. I have filed a formal complaint with my State's traffic court regarding MSB's rude, harsh, unprofessional and predatory phishing behavior. Will these dopes ever learn one gets more with honey than vinegar?"

Iagree I also had legit tickets in hawaii i didnt know about and they called me all the time.Just get the reference number and send them payments and tell them if they call again again then you will cut your payments in half and they will leave you alone as long as you keep up your payments. Thats what i did and they were ok with it i guess because they stopped bothering me.

WOW! I'm glad my friend notified me about this concern. I noticed that these calls have been coming in like day in and day out since this number first started appearing in my caller ID machine back in December, and I'm talking nearly four months. They really irk me to no end.

A red flag went up when I did some checking up of my own on this agency by contacting my State's traffic court departments to see if I indeed had any outstanding traffic tickets. I became curious because there were none. Wondering what was going on I asked the clerks if they knew why this MSB agency was constantly calling me. The staff had no real answer. They only apologized for the inconvenience.

Inconvenience is not the word I would use. I mean, what gives? Who the hell are these people anyway? These people are belligerent and downright RUDE! And to be inconvenienced by their calling tactics? I mean, this has got to stop. What business do they have to be constantly calling on a matter that I have no idea of what's going on? Maybe the phone number that is currently my land line used belong to somebody who had some outstanding traffic warrants or whatever. I really don't know. But what I do know is that I can have my number changed. I can also have my calls forwarded to an answering service. Or I can do without a land line completely, and just use a cell phone. I'm told that cell phones retain certain information that can be traced. Why should I allow myself to continue being intimidated for something that was not my fault? I don't have to put up with this kind of behavior. It's nonsense, really. From now on, I'm documenting all calls from this 1 800-616-0166 number and when I have collected sufficient information, I'm going to give the FTC a call, and let them deal with the matter. Who knows? Perhaps when the FTC has more than their share of consumers' complaints they will do something to effectively put a stop to these annoying people. I'm glad that there are others who feel the same way.

"Municipal Services Bureau" will neither affirm nor deny that they are working on behalf of any city agency..." according to someone from that "agency." You should really check them out. Does the phrase "piece of work" come to mind?

Documentation of the MSB harassing you--complete with dates of calls made to your residence, time they called, names (are useless because they NEVER provide you with a REAL name), what the matter concerns, and how *YOU* were treated by way of conversation--is a good way of getting an investigation started by the FTC, and to see the very death of a pretend collection agency that has no business representing and acting as one. THAT IS FRAUD!

Legitimate means are needed to collect monies on fines and penalties which an individual brought upon himself, monies which are strongly needed by city governments to run appropriately--so they say. For the MSB to get involved on behalf of the city/state government is a shady way of that government to make good on these unpaid fines. There has to be some other method of acquiring these monies. As a barrage of unsolicited computerized calls is annoying, it is HARASSMENT, in plain English.  Harassment is no stranger to a court, especially when the party being harassed initiates a lawsuit.  Yeah, right! Sue a city government? Good luck...

Do yourself a big favor, and do some research. Check to see if you have ANY outstanding fines on unpaid traffic citations and other tickets or such warrants. If, by calling your local city court system and learning that you do indeed OWE money, regardless of how much, make arrangements to get these fines PAID OFF once and for all. Don't even think about arguing, or compromising. Otherwise, be rest assured that these harassing calls WILL CONTINUE TO BARRAGE YOUR HOME WITHOUT END. It wasn't a laughing matter for me anymore. I learned *MY* lesson and got MSB off my back.  I contacted the city clerk and was embarrassed to discover what and when I did it, and then immediately paid off my financial responsibility. OK, I had a good laugh after that!  One final comment: Honolulu, Hawaii and Austin, Texas have one thing in common - they are partners in crime, so to speak, when trying to collect money from you! Now, no more calls from 1 800 616-0166. The only humorous result about this entire issue is that Honolulu and the MSB got my attention, and literally FORCED me to cooperate in paying off my traffic fines. BTW, traffic fines aren't the only monies that MSB goes after.  If you happen to be a delinquent dad on his child support payments... CAVEAT EMPTOR!
