First off. I gave money to this number for the last two years in a row to send some children to the PAO Kids and cops fishing days program; and I have had no problems with my credit card or any "scams". If you don't want to do your part to support these kinds of programs just stop making excuses and say that you don't want any part of what they are calling about. I have looked into the program and it is legit. By the way if your going to write a complaint; use spell check. Have a good day and try to listen and ask quesions if you get these kind of calls so you don't make mountains out of ant hills.

When these clowns call, and when most of them all call, I hit the 'talk' button and then begin hitting the '0' button right away, I don't speak.
I'm hoping this either freaks them out listening to the loud buzzing of zero, or maybe I'm just holding up their phone system a couple more seconds to give some other people a chance.
Either way, I'm sick and tired of their BS and I'm NOT polite any more...I say scream, yell, bang the phone down, do whatever you got to do so these morons scratch your phone number off their list. Cheers!

Received call from 800-616-2023 Apr-2-2012 @ 11 AM. No message. Called back same day @ 6:45 PM and number was ID'd as "The Police Association of Ontario." Was prompted to contact "Customer Care Dept. @ 1-800-665-1672. Called and was prompted to press "9" to be added to "Do Not Call List." That's what I did and the end message was that it would take a few days to be removed from their database. Let's see.

Just got a call from this number.  Police Association of Ontario, Dan Bingham was the callers name (so he said).  He was trying to get over six hundred dollars from me to send kids fishing, but I told him that I've never heard of cops & kids fishing.  He said that my company would benefit from the advertising that I would receive in their magazine.  Told him that I don't advertise, my business is repeat/referral.  By the end of the call, he was trying to get one hundred dollars from me - sorry, this fish isn't going to bite!
Anyone wanting to donate can call Dan Bingham's direct line, the number he gave me is 1-888-280-6499 ext. 106.  By the way, that number is for Haggar Hockey Hall of Fame.  They need sponsors, too!

Despite my request back in Oct 2011 to have our business number added to their internal do not call list, I have received another call from this number.
Very Bad.

Business' may still request for their number to be put on a Telemarketer's Internal do not call list.   Every Telemarketer must keep an IDNCL.   The Telemarketer bust take the request immediately.  Your number, residential or business must be added to their IDNCL within 31 days.  The consumer's number (business or residential) must be kept on the IDNCL for a period of 3 years and 31 days.  This is all part of the Telemarketing Rules.  https://www.lnnte-dncl.gc.ca/nrt-ntr-eng

WOW. I didn't know Bob Izumi did ice fishing. If it's actual freshwater fishing, why are they collecting funds already? Talk about planning ahead! Total lack of specificity. I had a pretty good rapport with the lady who seemed kind and legitimate enough. Kept saying it was a one-time donation of $25-50. Epic scammola or not, I would never give debit/ credit card information over the phone, so I lied & said I did not have enough money right now. Usually legitimate charities simply ask 'cuz they know what you want to spend your hard-earned money on should be entirely up to you & not to try swiping the money out of your goddamn hand... but this agent just wouldn't take NO for an answer and kept saying the economy isn't so bad anymore so "why not?" (yeah right. Economy could be coming up roses as we speak. I'm still broke as f*ck). I was compelled to hang up/ scream obscenities when she told me not to hang up and she'd get her supervisor (i.e. a more convincing crook) on the line to arrange reasonable payment/ a better compromise. I said as politely & firmly as I could without sounding as angry as I was: "As reasonable as this cause seems, I must decline. I have other affairs to attend to. If you'll excuse me, I must go now."

800-616-2023 is the Information Line for the Police Association of Ontario. They are looking for donations for a program they are hosting. They do not issue tax receipts.  Their recording directs you to their customer service #800-665-1672 if you wish to be added to their Do Not Call list.  As this is a Customer Service number you must listen to their instructions to be directed to the proper extension for the Do Not Call list.  It specifies that your number must be a residential number, however, I was talking with an actual Customer Service person and was told it didn't matter that our number was a business number, she would add our number to the Do Not Call List.
For those who may not know, the National Do Not Call list is only for residential numbers.  There are some exceptions where you will still receive calls even though your residential number is registered.

The caller (hear others in the background) asked for a donation to allow police officers to take poor kids fishing.  Kind of interesting when the fishing season is nearly over.  They're calling from Cornwall, but offer this service to all the police boards in Ontario.  I told them my friend is a cop and will ask him and they quickly hung up...this confirmed this issue is another phone scam.

Not sure how stupid people can be to recognize this as being another scam fraud.  I searched the internet and located a similiar charity under investigation that tried to solicit funds for charity, but kept 85% of the donations.   Technically a charity, but really a scam.

Don't be fooled and just hang up!!!!

OK - That's it!  I am starting a DO NOT ANSWER LIST - here is it so far, in numerical order:

416-342-6188
613-877-4615
613-877-4621
800-616-2023
866-675-7438

Only problem is they have escalated their tactics - they have been taking up voicemail space for nothing but background noise.

Cheers and have an un-harrassed by telemarketer scammer night!

You do realize that the people making the calls aren't reading your request to take you off their list.  This site is just to report who these callers are.

The number is from PAO - Police Association of Ontario.    They do take donations for underpriviledge kids.  However, you can not claim it as a donation on your income tax.  Not a registered charitable organization.   I made a donation, asked for a receipt, did get one.  But the receipt clearly stated not a tax receipt.

Got a call from this # and they were looking for money for a police fishing derby. I asked them if there is a number where I can call them back and he said because this is the police association all calls are recorded so that I can't call them. They send me an envelopeand I'm to put a cheque in. This is a scam.

We've gotten a few calls.  They say they are from the Police Association and they are trying to send underpriviledged kids fishing or something. Asking for money. Seems sketchy.

Kids and Cops web site has been taken offline.

The calls are soliciting money for an unlicensed "charity". They do not have to account for how they use funds or issue any public reports. Give them money at your own risk.

I just got the call at my business.  When I asked questions, he just said "bye Ma'am" and hung up.  I looked into the "Kids and Cops" fishing with Bob Izumi and apparently only $0.17 out of every dollar goes toward the charity.  The rest goes to pay the telemarketers making the calls.

Received a call, no answer, no nothing... if this is legit, they need to fine tune their stupid automatic dialer. I'm not giving them any money simply based on that annoyance, so I lump them in the scammer territory.
