On June 1 2014 I was looking for Mcafee support and somehow ended up with a online help with directed me to contacting with 800-616-5160 . They accessed my computer and show me problems. I realized that they were not who I thought they were so I ended it.

On Tuesday, May 20th 2014 I entered Norton's OFFICIAL CHAT ROOM at 9:49 pm to report issues to my computer. The chat person told me I would receive a call back and I received a call from this ph #.
They got access to my computer (which is a common practice) and "discovered" a lot of issues and tools shot down (He showed them, then I asked him how that big mess happened if I had Norton). They offered two options to resolve: one at $ 199.99 and another for $ 299.. something I refused and complained. The option decreased to $ 99.99 The rep. left a PDF with the report, rep name was "Max"
I told Max I would complain to Norton the next day. He hung up. I have pending my complaint to Norton which I will fill out today.
I haven't opened my laptop again. I guess I will have to throw it away

I called this number to get support on my quicken, a girl picked up my call, i recall her name as "Catherine". she put some virus on my computer and told me that my computer was hacked. And they wanted to take $299.95 for removing the virus which they had put. i have reported this to better business bureau. BEWARE. they are scammers.
